What a beautiful and relaxing place to stay on a beautiful and relaxing island. This was our first trip to Molokai and we are smitten. The friendly people, the beaches and the serenity of the island were only enhanced by the pool house.

The house is in a perfect location, with nearby beaches and "Mana’e Goods and Grinds" within walking distance. We were there during mango season and had only to pick them off the trees.

The pool house is well appointed and pool was the perfect size for just the two of us after a day on the beach.

We especially enjoyed listening to the the Giants games over the internet and having refreshments while dinner was cooking on the bar b que.

Thank you Amy for sharing you lovely house with us and we hope to return as soon as we can.

Mahalo nui

Beautiful Well-Maintained Grounds and House

My husband, my parents, and I stayed in the main house on this property from 2/17/12 - 2/22/12. My husband and I stayed in the guest house last year. The grounds around both are beautifully and tastefully landscaped. The view of the channel to Maui and Lanai were incredible. Both times we sat on the porch or deck and watched the whales. All the other houses I looked at renting on the east end were either on the road or on the ocean side. Both these houses sit in behind a large lot, on the hillside. This gives them an elevation with the incredible view and keeps noise to a minimum. I was very glad that I had spent a few more dollars and gotten so much more. The guest house has a small pool, the main house a smaller pool, both adequate to cool down after a nice walk. The property is on the east end which is greener than the west and more rural. Both houses are impeccably decorated. I kept noticing small touches that added beauty throughout. The main house has two bedrooms each with an attached bathroom. There is a large, high main room between. The guest bedroom is down a hall, and up a few stairs. This arrangement gives two couples more than adequate privacy. The deck stretches the length of the house with large glass sliding doors the whole way. Wherever you go in the main room or master bedroom the view follows. The guest bedroom has windows with an equal view. The kitchen and dining area had everything you could possibly want to cook with. The guest house is smaller and more intimate. The 2 bedrooms are off the main room. The kitchen here too had all you needed to cook. The view from the porch was better than any of the photos could capture. My husband and I rented a pickup truck the first year, and an SUV this year. The right of way to the house can get muddy so you need a vehicle which has a good clearance from the ground. We explored Molokai from this base. The Molokai Fish and Dive was wonderful in setting up several activities for us. We hiked in the Halawa valley, down (and up) to the Kalapaupa penninsula, and the 3 mile long beach on the west end. We went on whale watching boat trips and visited the small beach down the road from the property. We went to the farmers' market on Saturday morning. If you are looking for fancy restaurants, night life, and crowded beaches, Molokai will not be right for you. If you are looking for peace, quiet, beauty, and a release from stress, I highly recommend staying at this property. God willing, we will be back.

Hale Lei Lani is a private, and peaceful getaway above the ocean yet close enough to hear the waves

Amy and Mark have created a peaceful and serene home environment, with a private pool that was incredibly refreshing throughout the day. Listening to our own music on their IPOD docking station or listening to the Hawaiian music stations, or watching the World Series, we created our own wonderful vacation environment. We cooked amazing feasts each afternoon with the ample supplies in the kitchen, drank too many Kona beers and enjoyed Kona coffee ice cream from Dave's shop. After ten days on Molokai and a day trip to Maui, we couldn't have asked for better accomodations than Hale Lei Lani. Mahalo nui! Trudi and Ray

The perfect vacation

Although we had to leave early due to a family emergency back home, it was the most amazing vacation we've ever had. The house was everything we expected and more. The pool and patio/lanai were beautiful, comfortable and very private. We used the bedroom towards the back and the bed was so comfortable. My husband who never sleeps in, did. The views from all windows were better then any postcard I've ever seen. The island was so wonderful. If you want to feel like your in a comerical, tourist trap vacation don't come here. This is the Hawaii of old. No crowded beaches. We will be back.

Hale Lei Lani was a very comfortable, clean, extremely serene setting to forget the hustle and bustle of life. The very private pool area with it's beautiful lush palms and flowering trees was our favorite place on a daily basis! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to return! Thanks for the best vacation ever!!

Wow, what a time we had in Molokai. The guesthouse was absolutely wonderful. Pictures do not do it justice. The views are magnificent. All the extra amenities like beach chairs and coolers were very helpful. The private pool was so nice to soak in each evening. Molokai was much better than we expected. We loved exploring all the natural beauty on the island. The people were so nice, we enjoyed meeting all the islanders, and the few other visitors. We loved it and cannot wait to go back.
