This cottage is impeccably clean and the owners have thought of everything you might need or want. From abundant towels and beach towels to a laundry basket near the washer/dryer, clothes line out back and an outdoor shower to get all the sand off, there is little else to worry about, except relaxation! The cottage is full of interesting decor that makes it all the more charming and cozy. The living room is spacious with lots of seating, and the porch is very peaceful. The deck off the back is large, with two tables each seating at least four each, and a third bar height table with four chairs. There backyard is also ample, with a cluster of trees (bring your hammock) and room for lawn games (we brought croquet, bocce ball, and lawn boling, bongo ball was already there).

We enjoyed the beach at the end of the block, and the beach at Hamlin Lake in Ludington State Park. We hiked a couple of short trails in the park - Skyline Trail (lots of stairs, treetop views), and Sable River Trail, where you can walk on the dam. Our 8 year old kids enjoyed both, as well as the hike to the lighthouse in the park (arrive at the lighthouse before 5 so you can climb to the top). We also spent an afternoon floating down Pere Marquette River starting in Baldwin (about 40 minutes away), and rented a pontoon boat on Hamlin Lake (5 minutes away) and took the kids tubing.

Good restaurants - House of Flavors, PM Steamers, Jamesport Brewing Company, and Chuckwagon for pizza.

Really peaceful and relaxing stay in Ludington!
