Cabin in lush mountain country

Our adult children and we found this getaway perfect in every way. After five days camping in the beautiful Wet Mountains and the Sangre de Cristos, it offered us the clean-up and game-playing venue we needed. The house is more beautiful than the pictures, with the inside golden knotty pine walls perfect for a cabin in the woods. And it is definitely in the woods and off the beaten track. It is in a small secluded country community, lush and heavily wooded, and the cabin itself is off the unpaved road up a hundred yards or so on a dirt driveway. Due to the trees and the quiet, we hardly even noticed the other houses in the community. The creek behind was natural and bubbled us to sleep at night. The Broad-tailed Hummingbird nesting close by provided close-up photo ops from a deck chair, and the local Hermit Thrush and Cordilleran Flycatcher family were constant companions. We enjoyed the grill, the comfortable living area and table. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the rest of the house, and are grateful to the owners for the opportunity to enjoy this cabin in the woods with our loved ones. We hope to be back!

We have enjoyed our stay at your cabin. It is very nice and comfortable. Thanks for having it so well stocked. We have really enjoyed our walks around the Tanglewood area. Several of your neighbors greeted us and we enjoyed visiting with them. Our grandchildren love the lost and little closets and have enjoyed playing outside around the cabin. It has been wonderful listening to the creek!

Our family really needed a break from busy-ness and the heat. We were able to relax and regroup in your beautiful cabin. The kitchen and living area were incredible - we felt right at home. You thought of everything! Thank you for coming and filling the propane for the grill. We appreciated that. We enjoyed opening the windows and listening to the stream, plus the air was refreshing and cool. We watched a hummingbird and her nest right outside the door, and we truly had a great time as a family - playing games and cards, and just reading and sleeping a lot.
The very next day after we got home, we recommended the cabin to a friend. We will continue to do so. Thanks, too, for sending us the pillow we forgot. You are the best!

Oh Wow! You have made this vacation holiday so memorable. Your beautiful cabin in this most serene area has been a wonderful experience, very relaxing, except I didn't see the bear cub, but did watch all the birds and the mule deer. I've never stayed at a more "complete" cabin, all completely stocked! Thank you so much for sharing this prize with me.

This was not our first visit to Colorado, but your cabin was the nicest place we have stayed by far. It was so nice to have the gasics supplied, water, spices and condiments in the kitchen so we dien't have to purchase so much stuff, and we did replace some of what we used, and left a couple things for the next family. Falling asleep to the creek sounds was wonderful and the hummingbirds are always entertaining. We don't have the orange ones in Michigan. It was a very relaxing and comfortable stay away from the rat race we sometimes live in. Sad to leave and already looking forward to our next trip out. One of these times, we will come to stay. We have looked a number of properties and would love to call Westcliffe home. Thank you so much.

Our stay here was everyting we thought it would be! We took advantage of every day we had here! The first day we rode out to the Royal Gorge and rode the train! The second day we rode up to Salida and Leadville and saw many beautiful sights! Tuesday we hiked up the rainbow trail and saw 3 elk! It was so exciting, one of our most anticipated sightings! Westcliffe is such a cute, small, and cozy town. We loved the Sangrita's resturaunt too! Wednesday we drove out to Pikes Peak and spent the day in Colorado Springs. It was such a fun and frightening experience. On our last day we went white water rafting and it was awesome! What a fun way to spend our last full day here. Overall, we've seen a jackrabbit, lots of prairie dogs, many mule deer, antelope, chipmunks, hummingbirds, etc. The only thing we didn't see was a bear. It's ok though. This trip was amazing and I loved every minute of it! This is definitely one of many more trips we'
re gonna take to Colorado! Thank you for providing such a well stocked, cozy home for us! It was simply amazing!
