My family of 5 stayed in Hank's apartment for one week when we vacationed in NYC. We enjoyed our stay. It gave us more room than a hotel for less cost. I hadn't used homeaway.com before, so I was a little apprehensive, but I would highly recommend this apartment. I was slightly concerned that the 6 blocks or so to the subway would be a long walk, but it was only about 5 mintues. Very convenient. We never felt unsafe in the neighborhood. The few neighbors we saw out were very friendly. We had our car with us and were able to mostly park right outside the apartment (for free). There are two days during the week that you have to move your car, and finding alternate parking can be somewhat challenging. The first day we had no problem, but the second day was much harder. Just an FYI so you can plan accordingly if you have a car. There is a safe for your use in the apartment, as well as a nice hair dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped. We were expecting a coffee maker, but it was a French Press. We needed a lesson from Hank since we had never used one, but it made delicious coffee. When we got home, our coffee didn't taste as good. We brought the food items we would need with us since we drove, but Hank provides some staples and snacks for your use. The bathroom is in the bedroom. It was not a problem for us since we were all family, but again just an FYI. The water pressure in the shower was wonderful. It was a very quiet neighborhood and we had no trouble with noise at night. The weather during the week we were there varied greatly from cold to warm to hot. We were comfortable in the apartment at all temperatures. I received my deposit within 2 weeks of leaving the apartment. We didn't see Hank that often, but he was a really nice guy. Would highly recommend. We will definitely consider staying in the apartment again if we visit the area again. Thanks for everything, Hank!

We are really satisfied with out stay in Brooklyn and Hanks apartement. I really recommend others to rent this apartement. I will surely contact Hank if or when I will return to NYC! Thank you Hank!

We were in NYC for kids spring break last week and stayed in Han's apartment for 8 days. Hank was a great host, very friendly and responsive to questions and requests. The apartment was located in the beautiful and quite streets, clean and had good size bedroom and living room, kitchen was well equipped and there are few grocery stores within short blocks but we always went to the one called Finefair on Kingston as it has everything.

There are 2 Subways on different sides of the Kingston Ave. #3 train about 5 mins walk towards Eastern Parkway and #C train about 10 min walk towards Fulton Street. The subways took us to most part of Manhattan within 30 min. The people were friendly and we did not encounter any issue even at very late nights or early mornings during our stay (fyi, we used #3 train for late nights as we felt more comfortable on this side of area during late night and it was shorter walk).

I will definitely recommend Hank's apartment as you will also experience Brooklyn neighborhood. We will stay here again the next time when visit NYC. Thanks Hank!

I stayed with my girlfriend for two weeks and we have no complaints. The apartment is what you see in the photographs. It is pretty big and couzy. The heating was excellent. We were there in winter and we slept with just a tshirt. We had everything we needed to cook, bath, etc etc.
Just 4 blocks away we had the subway that took us everywhere (from Brooklyn to Times square and beyond). The neighborhood is nice. There is supermarket nearby and a few restaurantes.
I would and will recommend this apartment to friends. We had a great stay and Hank, the owner, is helpfull and kinde. He lives downstairs, so any problem you have, he is a right there. If I ever go to NY again, definitely will stay here.

L'appartement de Hank est conforme aux photos. Il est propre, équipé du nécéssaire, confortable, agréable et silencieux. L'immeuble, la rue et le voisinage sont très typiques de Brooklyn. L'environnement est sur et essentiellement familial. Le quartier est partagé entre 2 communautés : Celle des juifs orthodoxes et celle des noirs caribéens. Nous n'avons ressenti aucun sentiment d'insécurité. Le quartier est bien achalandé de petits rétaurants et épiceries.
Le métro est à 5 minutes de marche. Il faut compter 30mn en métro pour atteindre Penn Station ou Grand Central Station.
Hank est un hôte très avenant, accueillant et attentif au bien être de ses locataires.
Nous recommandons cet hébergement pour son excellent rapport qualité-prix.

Hank's appartment is quiet, confortable, sweet, clean and very well equiped. It is conform to the pictures.
The area is safe. It is mainly shared by 2 communities : Caribeen people and jewishs orthodox. We never felt to be unsafe at any time. There are restaurants and grocery stores around where to find all needed.
Kingstown Av. metro station is located 5 mn away by walking. It takes 30 mn with a metro ride to reach Penn Station or Grand Central station.
Hank is a very nice and welcoming host and pays attention to the hapiness of his tenants.
We recomand this Place.

Hank 's house is comfortable and fully equipped.
We loved your icecube machine (fridge/freezer) and all the herbs that we could use.
The neighborhood is very nice and friendly, with supermarkets and subway nearby.

We had a wonderful time in Brooklyn, not just because our daughter graduated from NYU (which was amazing, of course :), but also because our apartment was everything we could hope for. A few blocks away from our daughters apartment, the subway, the park, the shops, etc.
The neighborhood is colorful and the apartment is spacious, clean, quiet and provides everything you need.
We had a super time!

We stayed for a week at the apartment and it felt very much like home. It's great to have your own 'space', much more comfortable than a hotel room, especially since there were four of us (iour two teens needing more than the average amount of space;-)). The apartment is very comfortable, well provided. Quiet neighbourhood in which a lot of houses have been renovated recently. Hank is an excellent host, very friendly and ready to help out if you need anything.
