This recently restored & renovated family home is filled with authentic treasures that bring you back to the decades of America's past with its Nifty 50s Kitchen, an art deco style 1940s Dining Room, a living room in 'mod' 1960s decor, retro 70s bedrooms, and full basement with a Knotty Pine built in bar right out of the 50s along with vintage Pinball and Bowling machines. Take a step back in time with family and friends as you celebrate important milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries, family & class reunions or just a weekend getaway to go back to a simpler time and remember those Good Ol' Days.

**The GOOD OL' DAY HOUSE was just featured on the television show WQEDs 'PITTSBURGH 360' on April 18, 2013! You can download the show from WQEDs website.

Restaurants: There are several excellent restaurants for fine dining in the area such as close-by The Back Porch & The Speer Street Grill, Lenora's in Perryopolis, & Lucchesi's in Monessen. You can also enjoy good home-style family type restaurants, fast food and other familiar chain restaurants all less than one mile away.

Pittsburgh dining is 25 miles or a 30, 45 minute drive.

Seven Springs is less than an hour away.

There are 2 yummy pizza shops, a Dairy Queen, Bakery & Grocery Store all within walking distance.

A friendly local 'watering hole' tavern is also within walking distance on the Main Street.

Shopping: Many vintage & antique shops are close by within a few minutes or up to a 15 minute drive. We have Gabriel Brothers, which is a 'Bargain Place' to shop for name brands & closeouts.

The Brand new Tanger Outlet Mall is 20 minutes away and there are 6 Shopping Malls all within a 30 - 45 minute drive. Such as South Hills Village, Westmoreland Mall, Uniontown Mall, Franklin Mall, Century III Mall and Monroeville Mall.

Churches: Just like in those Good Ol' Days when faith in God was the center of any community--- Churches of all denominations are nearby and most within walking distance to the home.

i am a former Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. United States 1993 (crowned in Las Vegas), inventor & entrepreneur. This is the former family home of my Italian immigrant grandparents who moved here in 1949. It has been in our family for more than 60 years and now enjoys taking guests on a trip back to the eras of the 1950s, 60s & 70s!

We've just spent an amazing week in your beautiful home. Thank you for opening the doors to the past -- your home unlocked memories that we will treasure for years to come. You are a warm and caring person and your love of live and family fills each room of this dear home. Being a child of the 50s, raised in a Polish Catholic Family, I just 'connected' with so many things in here. I truly felt as if I'd come home. Fondly, Fabulous Michigan Memories

The "*** Clan" was here from Michigan and had such a fabulous time recalling the good ol' days with reminders in every nook, cranny, drawer, table top, shelf, rack, closet & more --- they were everywhere reminders of how it was back then,
We siblings came here because our dad grew up in Braddock, PA having moved to Michigan married out mother and raised six children born from 1941-1956!.......Dad died in 1983 and Mom in 2012... and so we looked for a place we could all be together just as we were growing up. Somehow my daughter Molly, found this remarkable place where we could all, once again, sit around the dining room table and reminisce. This house was nothing less than perfect.
Then we found Frick Park & what did we stumble upon "The Braddock Trail"!
Thank you Melanie, for the joy and great spirit you brought to our trip; for the wonderful antique store where we were able to find great rememberences of this great trip and for providing the perfect place for so many memories and loads of laughter. We loved every moment. Will all of our affection....

Thank you for your hospitality! We enjoyed chatting with you so much about our former home town. House was a blast & the Christmas Tree made my little girl's heart silly. Mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our travels down memory lane as we discovered so many items we used to have or that my grandmother had. Our friends & family also enjoyed joining us here. Thank you so much for our visit back to childhood -- The house is amazing It was great fun to see all the things our Grandmothers, Mothers, and even ourselves had in past. It was like staying at Grandma's. We had a wonderful time taking in past and visiting with each other. Thanks for sharing your family's home. We all had a great time. Although we did not spend much time in the house, we really liked the 1950s feel. The kids loved the basement. My little one was after all the door knobs. The elders had a good learning experience of the 1950s American/Pittsburgh culture/decor.

Thank you so much! We had such a fun time looking around and remembering our past. The basement was the best. The boys enjoyed the barber chairs. Olivia loved the pinball and record player. We had lots of adventures. This was the perfect meeting place for our two clans (from Cleveland & New Jersey) with lots of fun in nearby Pittsburgh. Thanks again.
