Our family stayed here 4 nights at the end of January. This was our first trip to Puerto Rico. I do a ton of research when we travel and we prefer private homes vs. hotels. I wanted a good beach location for our boys (11 & 13) to boogie board with easy access to our activities - forts in OSJ (40 mins), El Yunque, and Bio Bay (both 10 mins.) Condo is clean, comfortable, spacious with spectacular ocean views from every room and a nice view of El Yunque out front. We kept the windows open and there is a secure iron gate on the front door that you can leave open for great cross breezes day or night. Bedrooms had AC but we didn't use. Comfortable beds and plenty of closet/drawer space. Beach chairs, a wheeled cart, toys, boogie boards, basketball, coolers, beach towels, etc. were all supplied - everything we needed! The beach in front of Playa Azul was wide, clean, and backed by palm trees. There are lots of restaurants and a grocery store nearby. We loved the view from the balcony and enjoyed a full moon and beautiful reflection on the ocean every night. With 2 basketball courts (full & Jr size - lighted) on property, our boys played for hours every night. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Building 1 is closest to the beach and offers the best views. We felt very safe since the entire complex is gated with security to enter parking lot and buildings and a locked gate to the beach. Security advised us not to walk the beach at night but it was no problem driving. We were mostly outside but there is fast wi fi, TVs in every room and lots of movies if you find yourself inside. Only minor issue was with rental agreement/check-in info. We booked/put down deposit 60+ days out and as our date approached, I called the owner for more details not realizing we were supposed to have received the info from the property mgmt. company. Miriam did not know that we had not received the documents and called them and they sent the info right away. Just a mix up but I wanted to mention so that future guests know they should look out for an agreement/confirmation around the time of their deposit. Check-in was on time and easy. When we got home, I tried to reserve the same timeframe Jan/Feb 2014 and we were disappointed that the condo is already booked. Thanks Miriam! We'll be back!

Perfect place for a family

My husband, daughter, son-in-law, son and granddaughter all stayed at this beautiful condo. The view was spectacular. The place had so much room and everything that we could need for us and a 2-year old. Had 3 spacious bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. They had security for parking and the building and the ocean was just steps away. Very private and we would recommend and book this place again. We usually stay at a hotel and I am very skeptical of renting a condo without ever seeing it, but everything was exactly as advertised and the owner answered my phone calls and e-mails promptly when I had questions.

Perfect Getaway

My review is long overdue and I apologize for that, I should have written it months ago. This penthouse apartment is amazing! For me the balcony was my favorite spot in the apartment. I wish I could have taken it home. There were 6 adults and we all had plenty of room. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. I loved that too! The beach is literally steps away. Everything you need is close by. We rented a van because we traveled a lot, but many times we walked to local restaurants. We had a perfect week. Miriam was really easy to work with and very accommodating. I emailed her a lot with questions and had a couple of really nice conversations with her on the phone. Everyone we traveled with said they would love to stay there again. It's the perfect location. The apartment was very clean and building security was also very helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends. We have great memories of our week in Luquillo.

The best vacation place in the world

My name is Diane and I am from the Bronx new York. I was planning a vacation for my family. My dream has always been to take a vacation with my children and their families. I did a lot of looking online and asking people for advice. Someone had told me a this amazing place that they stayed with their family in P.R. I could not believe all they told me ( it just sounded too good to be true). I must say nothing could have prepared me for heaven on earth because that is the only way I could describe it. The penthouse has everything you could possibly need and more. Each and every room is beautiful from the decor to the view. My family and I loved it. We plan on returning there next summer because we can't think of another place on earth where we can have a better time. You can't ask for anything more. Our only problem was leaving because no one wanted to go. I want to thank Miriam for letting us experience her beautiful penthouse. She has provided every comfort possible. CANT WAIT FOR NEXT SUMMER TIL WE COME BACK

Best Vacation

The pictures of the penthouse are nice, but they can’t capture many of the amazing qualities about staying on the top floor. The cross breeze throughout the whole space is so refreshing and every morning the view of the sunrise is simply breathtaking. The balconies were our family’s favorite spot. They were cool and shaded, but it sounded and felt like you were sitting right on the beach. The entire space is comfortable and inviting. It is equipped with everything from a cooler, beach umbrella and fishing poles to countless movies and board games. The beach itself is wonderful. The sand is soft and the waves are perfect for swimming. My grandparents, who are natives of the island, say it’s one of the prettiest beaches in Puerto Rico. It is well taken care of too; the beach is cleaned every morning. There are lots of fun activities nearby. The only rainforest in the U.S. is just a short drive away and there are numerous places that will take you snorkeling off the coast of nearby islands for a reasonable cost. Also, down the road are the kiosks, which are famous for their great food. My grandparents, my parents and my sister and I, who are in high school, all considered this our best vacation ever. Any place that can cater to such a variety of ages and interest is truly a spot worth visiting. Overall, the location is prime, and the amenities are great. It’s all you need for an amazing vacation.

Amazing Condo

The moment you walk into the condo you are stunned by the view. Then you look around the condo and know you made the right decision. Beautiful, comfortable furniture, so tastefully decorated - it feels very home like. As others have said - everything is provided from beachchairs to beach toys, videos, books, games and coolers. Even the dishes are themed.
The layout of the condo is ideal for a few families with the 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on the sides and the living space in the middle. You feel very secure with the gate going into the complex, then locks on the complex doors and security guards. The beautiful beach is literally right across the street.
The town itself around the condo is fairly quiet - not alot of nightllfe within walking distance - the Brass Cactus is really good. I highly recommend the condo.

Luxurious Unit loaded with extras

This unit has too many extras to list them all! Luxurious and spacious with everything you can possibly need. Three bedrooms and baths. You won't need air conditioning with all the glass sliders in every room, but if you prefer ac each bedroom has its own unit as well as a ceiling fan. Unit is loaded with Beach towels, beach toys, chairs, bags and floats. Even coolers if you want to pack your lunch! Kitchen is fully stocked with a grocery store and Walgreens right across the street. If you choose to eat out Pasta y Pueblo is and excellent choice. Don't let the appearance scare you. It will probably be your best meal in PR and worth the wait. The waves at the beach out front can be rough. Great if you like to boogie board or surf. If you want calmer waters Luquillo Beach is just two minutes away. Unit is only 40 minutes from San Juan and ten minutes to the rain Forrest (at a minimum do the short hike to la mina falls and take a refreshing dip in the waterfall) or about 15 minutes to Farjado. You can do a bio bay tour in Farjado or take the ferry (only $4.50 round trip!) to either culebra or vieques. These tiny islands are treasures for their beaches, snorkeling or scuba diving. Some excellent snorkeling right off the shore. If the weather is bad or you just want to relax in the unit their is wifi, cable, DVD players in every room and a wide selection of movies for both children and adults. There is also a redbox at both Walgreens and the grocery store. If you prefer to read on the beach the unit is stocked with a large variety of books. The property has a pool, and children's park area. The ottoman in the living room is filled with board games. Be sure to check out the binder on the table. It is filled with flyers for local activities and restaurants. If gambling or going to the spa is your thing their are a few full service hotels just a short drive away. You will need a car if you want to experience all that this tiny island has to offer. You will not regret choosing this unit. The owner has really gone out of her way to personalize it and provide everything you can possibly need.

Home away from home

This is the first time I have stayed at someone's property vs. a hotel and I must say that it was well worth it. I really felt at home and not that feeling of living out of my luggage whenever I'm at a hotel. The views were amazing. Through the front door, you see the mountains/rainforest. On the balcony, there is a panoramic view of the beach. The beach was beautiful. During the week we spent there, the beach was not at all crowded. It seemed as if it was a private beach and we had the fortune of having it in our own backyard. The owner also provided virtually anything that you may need for your vacation such as beach chairs, boogie boards, noodles, beach towels, etc.. I would definitely stay here again.

Spectacular vacation getaway

What a vacation spot! The views from all of the rooms in the penthouse are like nothing I have ever seen before. The owner has created a place where there is nothing you need but a bathing suit, suntan lotion and flip flops. The rental includes beach towels, beach bags, noodles to float on, beach toys and anything else you could need for the beach or pool. The location is a plus! If you need food the grocery store is right across the street. The rainforest national park is down the road, old San Juan is just a short drive away and there are many resorts that are close by where you can go to have a massage or facial at the spa. We went to the Grand Melia and it was so worth it! The beach extends for miles of walking. The rental is beautifully decorated and very clean. I just wish we had a few more days to try out more restaurants that were close by and have just one more swim in the warm ocean water. I was vacationing with a group of my friends but I want to go back next year and maybe this time take my husband and children.

Just another day in paradise!

The rhythm of the waves, the night breeze, the song of the Coqui frog...these are a few of my favorite things... the whir of the blender, the laughter of my friends, floating in the ocean on noodles...these are a few more of my favorite things! (Blender and pool noodles provided by the owner. Everything else provided by Puerto Rico!!)
This was, by far, the perfect getaway. From the moment we stepped off the plane and rented a car, I thought this is so easy. The people were helpful (I don't speak Spanish so this was a concern.) and friendly. We also found it easy to get around by car and on foot.
As we opened the door to the penthouse, our senses went into overdrive. We were greeted with the most amazing view, sounds, smell of the ocean which competed with the most beautiful accommodations. Usually when renting a place near a beach, I'm not concerned with size because I plan on spending my days at the beach. In this case the penthouse was big, clean, and full of entertainment -games, books, tv's that, I actually had to decide if i was going to the beach or hanging out at the penthouse.
The owner clearly knows what her guests will need and has gone above and beyond to provide all the necessities- beach bags, extra towels, even a basketball. (Yes in addition to the pool and playground, there's a basketball court on the property.)
While I was visiting Puerto Rico with a bunch of friends, I was also checking it out to see if i would come back with my family. The answer is a resounding, "Yes!" It's clean, safe, near many activities and FUN! There was only one thing that I was longing for at the end...
