Location, location, location!!!

My wife and her family have been visiting Ogunquit for over 30 years and we could not have found a better place to stay than the Island House. Our week at the house was fabulous! The ocean views from every room in the house, including the very large wrap around porch, are spectacular. Everyone in our group (of seven) loved the house and its location, and it was great for both the adults and kids. The adults in our group spent many afternoons before dinner having a glass of wine on the porch or on the lawn overlooking Perkins Cove. The kids loved the bunk beds in their bedroom and being able to have the internet access throughout the house. Listening to the early morning sounds of lobster boats leaving the Cove or being able to watch the sunrise from our bedroom was fabulous. Shops and restaurants are right around the corner, but seem far away once you drive past the gate up to the house. We loved our time at the Island House and will be back in the future.

One in a milion vacation

We have traveled extensivelyl, every state and about 15 countries and agreed that this was the best vacation we have ever had. After returning home we thought it had all been a dream it was such a wonderful experience living in the Island House for a week. Next year we are trying for two weeks. The entire property was in every way better than described, from the lobster fresh from the ocean to the sea breeze wafting through the beautifully decorated, spacious rooms and the friendly, helpful townspeople " aaah" if only words could describe it.

Perfect Location

The house was perfect, Beautifully decorated with lots of room. Within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. A 20 minutes walk to the center of town where you'll find many more shops and restaurants. The house is located at the end of Perkins Cove in a small gated community. Wonderful veranda and grassy backyard overlooking the entrance to Perkins Cove.
The owner gave us helpful information about where to eat, and how to save on buying lobsters from the lobstermen.

Our Dream Vacation

This was our first visit to Ogunquit and the Island House was the most perfect place to stay. The property is magnificent, the views incredible, and the house is charming and cozy while being roomy enough for all 6 of us to have our own privacy. It is beautifully decorated, inviting, and extremely well maintained. We especially loved breakfast on the porch every morning. The location couldn't have been better. You are within walking distance to everything but far enough away for it to be quiet and peaceful. The kids enjoyed having the freedom to walk by themselves to the candy and ice cream store. That was a first for me. This was the most relaxing vacation we had ever had and it was more than I expected. I would highly recommend the Island House to families of all ages. We can't wait to go back.

Comfortable home, excellent location in a classy area of Ogunquit. Weather didn't cooperate while we were there which reinforced how important it is to choose such a nice and big property. The kitchen is large and well equipped, you can plan to cook at home, you will love it. Everything I had read in the description was correct and the 6 of us were all pleased with our choice. The owner is very helpful and truly wants you to enjoy your stay. I did make one comment about the sheets and he was very quick in fixing the issue. Yes, it rained but you could walk so easily to the shops and restaurants, to Marginal Way, the beaches and the lovely neighborhoods around. Overall, a great place to stay including a charming garden.

Brougtht family together for a great week at the Island House. Son came in from Ilinois, daughter and her husband from Mexico, and in-laws from NYC. What a great time and the best place to be - so close to everything. We've already decided to return every year. This is becoming a family tradition. Peaceful and positive energy.

It's hard to imagine that one can be so close to the action and yet so far from the stress in this top notch home in Maine. Last summer, 8 of us (4 couples) decided to go for a bonding/relaxing time and were very pleasantly surprised by the Island House. The view is spectacular from every window and the indoor spaces are attractive and generous. We had the best dinner parties with all of us cooking at the same time in the humoungous kitchen. But my favorite part of the house was the master shower with water coming out of the walls, the ceiling, the sides and then steam. Oh well, everything was very memorable (I personally loved the artwork). This year we're planning to go back and have planned a dinner party for every other night: we do want to go to the restaurants from time to time.

Maine at its best!

Dreaming of Maine Washington, DC

We absolutely love spending time in Ogunquit, particularly at this gorgeous ocean-front home! We dream about it all year round. The kids enjoy (wait, that's an under-statement!) walking to the candy stores, the toy shop, the lobster cruise, and so many other attractions literally a few feet away. My husband and I enjoy the close-by dining out and the ocean views that abound- and watching the lobstermen going out to sea in the wee morning hours! It is a spectacular find, we'll return as soon as we can....

We'll be back!

Coming from Bergen County we used to think that the Jersey shore was special. the Island House in Ogunquit Maine made us forget all about that. We've celebrated the past two Thanksgivings here with my son and his family joining us from nearby Vermont. The house sits on the edge of the Atlantic, surrounded by rocky, beautiful coastline. The views are spectacular from every room, including the wrap-around porch. And the bedroom walls and ceilings are painted in airy pastel blues, trimmed with white, that seem to merge with you and the ocean outside and the sky and clouds. It's an amazing feeling. Restaurants and shops are minutes away walking. Great breakfasts at Amore Cafe, and to-die-for lobster rolls at Barnacle Billy's overlooking the fishing boats docked in the cove. We exercised every day hiking along the Marginal Way, a wonderful mile-long paved path right on the rocky shoreline that leads to the center of Ogunquit with neat bakeries and candy stores and beach area. We will be back!

Dream Home Right on The Water

My dream home! We've spent many a memorable night in this wonderful Maine seacoast home and will do so again this year. It’s a large family home and what a great location. A great family getaway in one of the most beautiful settings in Maine. Oceanfront - views everywhere. Short walking distance to quaint Perkins Cove. Wraparound porches everywhere, large bedrooms, large and modern baths, gourmet kitchen. Room for all kinds of sports gear. Coming from hot sticky San Antonio we especially loved the summer's fresh ocean breezes in every room and on the verandas. Love this place.
