Soothing to the Soul

This was by far the greatest place I have ever vacationed. The owners were the best, they helped us with so many things and were a wealth of information. They went above and beyond as far as help and kindness. The property is more than what is pictured. We sat by the rocks looking out at the ocean all day, most days. It has such a beautiful view and was so private and soothing. If you want to go somewhere to let all your troubles drift away this is the place to go! We hope to return every year. We became friends with the owners who are truly the nicest people. The Barn had everything you could ever want or need included. We had fires by the ocean at night and were lucky enough to see the full moon over the ocean. Wow!!! I can't express how impressed we were with everything from the owners to the views. Great place to relax and enjoy your family!!!!!

Enjoyed the week very much at “The Barn”. Eric & Betty have taken care to include about anything necessary to insure a comfortable setting and experience. The kitchen was the best equipped we have found in our years of travel.

Excellent seafood is available at a number of places in Jonesport and Machias however we enjoyed Tall Barney’s most.

Perfect hosts, the coast of Maine and seafood – what more could one ask for. We’ll certainly be back.

We have returned many times to the Barn to enjoy its charm and serenity. The Barn is not your typical impersonal rental. It is like an old friend who invites you in and then surrounds you with warmth and comfort. How can you help but have a fabulous day when you wake up and see that glorious ocean right from your bed?! Staying at the Barn with its gardens, meadows, and popplestone beach is nourishment for your soul.

you will LOVE this place. The hosts are wonderful
and warm while respectful of your space if you just
want to be alone. The land around them is
absolutely breathtaking and if you love seafood,

We had a wonderful week at The Barn at Mary Jim Point. The owners make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. It’s peaceful, with gardens, forest trails, cliffs, and two incredible views from the cottage: one of the ocean to the east where you can watch the sun rise (if you’re up that early), and one of fields and a pond to the west where you can relax and watch the spectacular sunsets--it’s a get-away that’s good for your soul! We really enjoyed everything there is to do in the area: bird watching, photography, walking on the beach, and going on day trips to see lighthouses, go fishing (my husband’s favorite), and have l-o-b-s-t-e-r (my favorite)! It’s the perfect way to experience the Maine coast.

There is no finer place to get away from it all than the Kelley's cottage.Spectacular scenery, exquisitely comfortable surroundings, the ocean at your feet, availability of fresh seafood makes this cottage THE place to relax. Owners next door for advice and wonderful hospitality. We even celebrated a family wedding here and it was nothing short of perfect!
