Pleasant stay in Phippsburg house
Our party of two seniors, two adult sons and a 15 year old grandson stayed at the house for four nights. It is a beautiful and secluded location and the house is well furnished with newly remodeled kitchen, dining-living area, bathrooms and upstairs bedrooms. Work remains to be done on the lower level. The kitchen is well-equipped. There is a large lawn and it is surrounded by towering spruce and fir trees. There is a lovely view of the water from the living-dining area and the large deck. We had anticipated that there would be easy access to the waters’ edge but the path has become overgrown and we didn’t find it till our last day. There are very fine beaches in the area but must be reached by automobile. There is a pool table in the lower level and there are many games and books for evenings and rainy days (our weather as perfect!). The beds are comfortable and we all slept well. The Phippsburg area provides many recreational opportunities and has an interesting history as well. We enjoyed the Maritime Museum in Bath and some went fishing, clamming, canoeing or kayaking and hiking. My wife and I also relaxed by sketching. We enjoyed the seafood at nearby restaurants and we had some excellent lobsters prepared for us to pick up at a roadside seafood and lobster stand. The house is well-suited for a family.
