On a beautiful spring morning we were married at Living Waters. We booked the entire facility for the weekend to house our out-of-town friends and family. The atmosphere exudes peace and was perfectly aligned with our vision for the weekend. Neither one of us wanted to obsess over the “typical and expected” wedding day/weekend issues (for example, having every decoration look perfect to within an inch of its life). We wanted a neurotic-free zone, and Living Waters totally delivered—starting with Bethany and Travis. They are completely calm souls. Bethany answered all of our questions promptly.

The arrangement of the buildings and grounds allowed for a very private and intimate weekend. We enjoyed the hammocks, native plants and appreciated that it was not an overly-manicured environment—it’s an honest, natural setting. Can you tell we despise over-production?
We brought food from our favorite trailers in Austin and availed ourselves of the kitchens to store, heat, and serve the food. Everything we needed was there. And throughout the weekend, Bethany and Travis were there if we needed anything.

Best of all, after our friends and family left, we were able to stay and enjoy a slow afternoon with the hummingbirds, butterflies, and leftover wedding cake. Living Waters is a remarkable venue that will be in our hearts forever. Thank you for everything.

We went to Living Water for our corporate retreat, and what an amazing time it was! Not only is the place stunning, it's so incredibly peaceful. Like you can feel the energy of the place just exudes serenity. You literally cannot be stressed there!
Bethany and Travis, the caretakers of the property, greeted us and orientated us for our time there, showing us everything the property had to offer. Our company hired a private chef that was on property for all our food needs (very reasonably priced I heard!), so Friday after arrival we had a delicious dinner. Our rooms were actually little unique cottages all over the property, so offered total privacy. Complete with fridge, coffee maker, wine glasses (you know, the essentials)! : ) Day two brought morning Yoga led by Bethany at the outdoor yoga studio on property. Then Thai massage by Travis in the indoor treehouse. Some cleansing water, a delicious lunch, and a little time by the gorgeous outdoor fireplace. We went on a little nature walk down the steps that have been carved into the side of the hill in stone and walked down the river and got some fresh air. Back to the house then off to a wine tasting at the Stonehouse Vineyard (about a 5 min. walk from the house). We got back in time for a little dip in the hot tub that overlooks the river and watched the sunset while we sipped on some pre-dinner cocktails. Total heaven! Another amazing dinner and then gathered outside around a big metal fire pit and chatted the night away. The whole place is wired for outdoor sound. Such a nice touch!
Sunday was the worst day, because we had to leave : ( But after a yummy breakfast, we hit the road home, relaxed and refreshed and talking about how soon we could go back. The two things was didn't get to take advantage of was the zip lining tours just up the street (not enough hours in the day!) and getting in the river as it was a little cold at this time of year. Hopefully if we're back in the summer we can take advantage of that.
This was one of the most luxurious and relaxing vacations I've never had, and I've done my fair share of traveling. The best part is, it was right here in Austin! I will be back ASAP. Highly recommend this to anyone that just wants to get away for some peace and relaxation (and a little fun of course). Great for kids, couples, groups, families, etc. Loved it!

We chose Living Waters as the location to hold a "friends retreat" - we invited about 10 of our closest friends out to Spicewood to enjoy a relaxing 3-day stay at the property. We were blown away by how awesome the experience was! The warm and enchanting vibe created by the property itself instantly made us all as giddy as teenagers to be there. We spent our days meditating on the beauty of the place, catching up and reminiscing on old times, walking to the gorgeous winery and having delicious wine, and even having the pleasure of an invigorating yoga/thai massage session with Bethany (which she was so gracious to lead, in that cold January weather!) We were able to use the giant kitchen in La Casa de Joy to make community meals for our whole party. And amenities like the hot tub and cute "movie nook" in La Casa were definitely enjoyed. Bethany and Travis were the best hosts we could have possibly had for this event- they are such pleasant people! I would hands down recommend Living Waters to anyone wanting to relax and unwind in a beautiful atmosphere. It worked perfectly as a venue for a big group, but I will definitely keep this property in mind for a romantic getaway, as well.

We pull up our chairs in front of the fireplace on the back porch and sit with a glass of wine, watching the fire and tracking the progress of the sunset. We catch sight of some deer sneaking across the hillside and watching us carefully as black squirrel skitter on the stone steps going down the hill towards the water. The wind picks up and plays a tune on the windchime hanging on the porch and we decide this is the most peaceful place we have vacationed. The house is beautiful with its interesting Southwest decor, and spacious enough to let you relax and really feel at home. There's an interesting place down the road called the Tomato Bar to purchase delicacies made with tomatoes and homemade bread, and 2 wineries nearby to explore, but the best part is the quiet, serenity if you need to relax and escape the hassle of the city and daily grind. I recommend highly.

My wife and I stayed at the casa de joy for our honeymoon and it was AMAZING! The location was easy to find because a few days before you leave, the manager Bethany will send you an email telling you all the info you need. When we walked into this house my life changed..LoL! We were greeted by a romantic fireplace and a sweet pecan pie that was left by Bethany and Travis...thanks guys!! Casa de joy has a fully equipped kitchen with all the cooking utensils you need, pots and pans as well. The bedroom is so romantic with a fireplace next to the bed and on the otherside is a garden tub! I advise anyone to take a bubble bath next to the fireplace...SO SPIRITUAL! There's also a private hot tub outside right by your back porch that we also enjoyed. The home and property was VERY well maintanaced, everything was clean. There's also a fireplace outside on your back porch that we spent every night having cocktails and conversing. I couldn't have imagined a better honeymoon for me and my wife. Thank you so very much travis and bethany for letting us stay in your beautiful and peaceful home, i couldn't have dreamed of a better place to spend our honeymoon. We would and will recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get away to a place full of peace and tranquility. Thanks Again!

First of all, the home La Casa de Joy at the Living Waters on Lake Travis is a beautiful luxury home and you will not be disappointed. The wife and I decided to stay there for a three day get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Even the backwoods and winding roads to get there was a lot of fun. A stay there is worth every penny, I would definitely recommend it. Best way to describe it is to give you the pros and cons.

Pros: Very beautiful, nice view of lake, plenty of fireplaces inside and out (if it is cold enough outside), nice fishing cabin on the lake, kept clean and everything inside and outside is very well taken care of, the care takers are very nice, a lot of nice details like a TV right on the bed, all day and night there are deer in the back and front yard (My suggestion is to get up early and watch all the deer drinking from the lake when the sun comes up while you’re sitting on one of the lower seating areas).

Cons: There are about 40 light switches in the house but only about 20 work or are labeled as to what they are for. You will be confused on what lights up what and where, most windows do not have window covers, the care takers stay in the house next door and can see inside the house night and day so no privacy, even for the high price they still want a huge cleaning fee (I did see that other people that rent houses on Lake Travis also charge a huge cleaning fee but I still don’t think it Is right), would be nice to have basic condiments, there are a lot of rules like you have to have it as clean as when you got there or they charge you extra (which again makes me wonder about the huge cleaning fee)

All in all it is a nice place and I would stay there again. Know that it is not a place to watch the sun go down but watch the sun come up as the back of the house faces east.

We didn’t want a cookie-cutter wedding. We’re allergic to halls with zero personality and palatial estates that are too grand and antiseptically pristine for such an intimate and personal event.

Our wedding held at Living Waters was nothing short of magical. As soon as we stepped through the front gate, we knew we found the venue we’d been looking for. There is a sacred, peaceful, harmonious energy here, along with stunning natural grounds and buildings with unique architecture that is at turns modern, funky and homey (not the typical Laura Ashley, kitschy, Texas B&B that predominates in the area).

Our wish list was long:
We wanted a site that would allow for a day-long wedding and reception, as we wanted to spend more than 2 minutes with each of our mostly out-of-state guests. Our preference was to have a place on the water with room for 100 people, but still feel intimate. We desired a space that would accommodate our wedding party for the weekend so we’d have time to connect instead of running around from place to place. We were looking to get married under a canopy of wise old trees. We wanted to choose our own vendors. And we wanted to work with kind, communicative, honest, warm folks. Check, check, check, check, check and check. And we didn’t want to have to harvest our organs to pay for it.

Above and beyond really doesn’t cover it:
Bethany and Travis Webb could not have been more accommodating. Their love of Living Waters and experience hosting their own wedding on site was invaluable. They recommended local vendors, gave us tips on how to lay out the space and the day. They let us tour the site multiple times for our do-it-yourself planning purposes. Travis toiled to update the pavilion, helped us erect a wedding arch and ensured the grounds looked fantastic. And Bethany saved our behinds by agreeing to coordinate our wedding day at the 11th hour after we were forced to let our coordinator go. I should say: Bethany didn’t just coordinate, she took charge, and did so with incredible grace, dedication and good humor. Our wedding would’ve most likely been a total calamity without her.

We had the wedding of our dreams. A wedding we believe truly reflected us and our union. We cannot recommend Living Waters more highly and are pleased to call the Webbs our friends.

We had such an awesome weekend on Lake Travis at this location. You will not be disappointed with this property. The photos did not do this property justice! Bethany was simply amazing every step of the way. We were able to rent a boat and get out on Lake Travis. We also had a great time fishing off of the dock:) Perfect!!
