Coral Sands Beach House, its beach on Hoopers Bay and location near George Town, Exumas make it a perfect setting for a family vacation. Our famiy of 5 adults and one child enjoyed the spaciousness, amenities and views from the Beach House. The owners, Betty and Peter introduced us to the best of boat captains, restaurants, stores and taxi service.

Every year one member of our extended family of Eleven has the pleasure of choosing a vacation destination, and this year was my turn. We live in California, so the first thought was to go to Hawaii due to flight costs, but I was excited to learn that we could fly to the Bahamas at a similar price. I did hours and hours of extensive research to find the best vacation rental in The Bahamas that was affordable, and I found it! Coral Sands is a clean and tastefully furnished large house, on a beautiful deserted beach, with warm turquoise water that laps gently on to the white silky sand. Peter Oxley, the owner greeted us on our arrival and showed us around the house. He then sat down and described all the best restaurants and places to explore and was a very gracious host. The house has every amenity that you will need to make your stay comfortable. We spent many evenings relaxing with a cocktail on the expansive decks and gathering together to cook dinners in the large great room. The house is only a few miles from town which was very convenient for getting supplies and general shopping.
After two days of relaxing we rented a boat from Minns Water Sports, This is something that I would highly recommend as we had so much fun visiting Stocking Islands restaurants, and snorkeling spots, with the freedom of having our own boat.
The people of Exuma must get a mention. They are the most friendliest and good natured people that I have had the pleasure of meeting while on vacation. There is a rare innocence to life on the Island and hardly any crime, so you will always feel safe and relaxed during your stay.
Very close to Coral Sands are a group of modest bars and restaurants inside small huts where you can eat some great barbecued food and at "Charlies" we spent a wonderful evening singing Karaoke. Charlie is warm and friendly character who makes the best rum cocktails on the Island!!
On our last day we took a boat excursion that visited Thunderball Grotto, Pig Island, the sunken plane and the sand bar. I highly recommend taking this trip.
To conclude, after driving all over Exuma and visiting Stocking Island, I was so pleased to learn that Coral Sands on Hoopers Bay, was the best choice that I could have made! If you are looking for tranquility on a beautiful beach but also the opportunity for a bit of adventure , I could not think of a better location than Coral Sands on Exuma.

My husband and I rented the studio apartment in Coral Sands. I chose this rental in the internet mainly for the beach (looking at comments and photos) and for the location in the island. We had travel to most of all the islands in the Caribbean and found this beach on Hooper’s Bay one of the most beautiful we have ever seen. The location is perfect near George Town, to all stores, marina, banks, etc and to the airport but still in a nice and quiet area of the island. Once we arrived we found that we chose the perfect place to stay, no regrets at all, the house is beautiful, the views are breath taken (we had 7 perfect sunsets in a row!!), lushly tropical gardens, clean and very well equipped apartment, few steps from my room to the beach (white sand, crystal blue water, calm ocean, perfect breeze, no slopes entering the water, no seaweed, quiet, and very private), and it was just perfect. And mostly the service at Coral Sands, Peter, the owner of the house, he made us feel at home, any information or any thing we needed he helped us with. He does not bother you at all if you want to be alone, if you need him, he lives nearby and can call him, and he will help you right away. We felt like this was our house to enjoy for the week. We were able to tour the whole house since we want to come back with the family; the house has everything you may need and more. It is decorated very tropical, still elegant, the views are perfect, even from the master room you could see the sunset w/o getting up.
We also rented the car from Peter, saved money and it was exactly what we needed, he accommodated us to our needs so we were comfortable and enjoyed his property to the max. I really want to come back soon with my big family, we are already recommending this place to our island lover friends. We did something always wanted to do in an island, we only could have done here, to bbq fresh fish on the beach at night and have a wonderful time. I got the BBQ grill from Peter, the fish from fresh catch from a fisherman near Santana ( just ask around and anyone can help you with that information), charcoal from the lumber store a couple of minutes drive from the house, some beers, Habana Club rum, and a Cuban cigar from the liquor store next to Smitty's.
Great Exuma is not known by many and it is a hidden treasure in the Caribbean, please keep these gifts to us clean and safe so we can all enjoy its beauty for many year

I stayed at the Coral Sands Beach House for 10 days beginning July 03, 2012. I was a little bit suspect as I have always stayed at a hotel when booking a vacation. My son-in-law researched several options and liked the Coral Sands Beach House the best. I must say that I was somewhat uneasy prior to our arrival, however, I can't remember when I have had a more enjoyable time. The home is beautiful and a perfect size to accommodate our entire extended family of eleven. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences. The sleeping quarters were perfect and the living areas were ideal. We all ate together, played games together, & watched movies together in the large living area. The island of Exuma is far more beautiful than I could ever imagine including the beach in front of the house. We rented a boat and we were able to moor it right in front of the house. The people living on the island were extremely friendly. They kept smiling and waving at us and, at first, we kept turning around to see who they were waving at and then realized it was us and from that point onward, we also waved and smiled.

Sono stata con mio marito e le mie due bambine di 7 e 10 anni ospite nella bellissima casa con accesso diretto alla bianca spiaggia di Hooper's bay del CORAL GARDEN di Exuma, dal 1 al 7 aprile 2012..
L'ospitalità dei proprietari inglesi, Peter & Betty, la tranquillità del luogo, la spettacolare posizione della casa (e della veranda!!) con affaccio su una delle spiagge più belle di Exuma valgono da sole il viaggio.
La casa è pulita, arredata con gusto e decisamente funzionale.
Si tratta di una grande villa bi/tri-familiare, ma nella nostra settimana eravamo gli unici ospiti della struttura ed abbiamo usufruito dell'accesso al mare in totale solitudine.
L'accesso alla spiaggia e la grande veranda con vista sulla baia hanno reso la vacanza delle nostre bambine indimenticabile...il mare là davanti è assolutamente sicuro (come peraltro in quasi tutte le spiagge della costa orientale dell'isola).
La disponibilità e la preparazione di Peter ci hanno supportato nel pianificare le nostre giornate, con suggerimenti di tipo logistico (ristoranti, market e benzinai), sugli orari migliori per visitare alcune spiagge, e per trovare gli accessi più nascosti.
E' necessario disporre di una macchina per gli spostamenti sull'isola e per provvedere alla spesa, ma anche questo piccolo problema è stato prontamente risolto da Peter che ci ha noleggiato un'auto per circa 60 $ al giorno.
La struttura si trova al centro delle due isole (Great Exuma e Little Exuma) e permette comodamente di visitarle in tutta la loro estensione.
Sono certa che torneremo a visitare la bellissima isola e lo faremo sicuramente in una delle strutture di Peter e Betty...

I spent six days with my husband and my two daughters ( 7 and 10 years old) in this beautiful beach house with direct access to the white beach of Hooper's Bay CORAL GARDEN Exuma.
The hospitality of the English owners, Peter & Betty, the tranquility of the place, the spectacular location of the house overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches of Exuma are worth the trip alone.
The house is clean, well maintened, tastefully decorated and very functional.
This is a large villa split into three apartments, but in our week we were the only guests there, and we enjoyed access to the sea in complete solitude.
Access to the beach and the large veranda overlooking the bay have made ??the holiday memorable for our children ... the sea in the bay is absolutely safe (as indeed in almost all the beaches on the east coast).
The availability and knowledge of Peter have supported us in planning our days, with suggestions of logistics (restaurants, supermarkets and petrol stations), on the best times to visit some beaches, or for finding their accesses.
It 'must have a car to travel the island and to provide for the spending, but also this little problem was quickly solved by Peter who has rented a car for about $ 60 a day.
The property is located in the center of the two islands (Great Exuma and Little Exuma) and allows comfortably to visit them in their entirety.
I'm sure we'll be back to visit the beautiful island and we will certainly do it in this wonderful building ...

We stayed for 6 days at this beautiful property! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the bluest waters you will ever see! The owner arranged a taxi to bring us to the property and was there to greet us. He gave us a tour of the property which is absolutely stunning, well kept and very clean. We had our own "private" beach right outside of our door. During our stay we only saw one other person on our beach. The owner, Peter Oxley, was very knowledgeable regarding places and points of interest.

We received your emails back in the States on our way home as we tried to be completely"unplugged" during our trip.
We had dolphins visit us several days on Hoopers Bay and they actually swam right up to the girls kayak on the first day.They were close enough to reach out and touch them!!What an amazing experience for them.
The house was great and we had a great vacation,with several first time experiences for us-and we've been all throughout the islands,so we were pleasantly surprised.
