I am a San Francisco Unified School District Special Ed teacher who has lived in and loved this neighborhood for more than 20 years. Ashley and I enjoy making sure our guests get the most out of their visit and are glad to provide advice and directions as necessary. This is a great location for travelers who love exploring urban environments on foot or using public transportation, which is very close and takes you all over the city.
We bought this property because of the neighborhood. It has a unique mix of walking convenience to all that a big city has to offer, such as music, theater, museums, restaurants and night life, and yet still retains a homey feeling.
The shops, restaurants, and nightlife of this neighborhood are exciting, dynamic and diverse. There is easy freeway access, and so many famous San Francisco sites within easy walking distance, including Alamo Square, Hayes Valley shopping, Opera Plaza, Symphony Hall, Theaters, Museums, The Castro District, City Hall and so much more. One ritual we enjoy is walking our dog at Alamo Square early in the evening during 'doggie social hour' when the best-behaved dogs play together in the park.
