Hi All,
I originally grew up in Orange County, NY in a community very similar to the Berkshires. Upon graduation, I moved to New York City where I began a 20-year career in the travel industry. During the course of those years, I worked in nearly every aspect of travel with a discriminating clientele.
My husband and I moved to the Berkshires in 1998 and purchased an historic, four family building in Great Barrington, which I converted to short term, furnished vacation and corporate rental business. I ran that business for 12 years, with great success.
In 2004, we purchased this Lenox beauty, which required an extensive gut renovation. Between 2005-2007, we rebuilt this house from foundation to chimney. At this point, I studied and passed my Massachusetts Real Estate and Construction Supervisor exams. I now work for Berkshire Property Agents in Great Barrington - the number 1 sales agency in South County for two years running - and have my own development business, Green Gables.
In 2008, I was diagnosed with Stage IIIC breast cancer. Through drive, research and commitment, I beat it in six months - without surgery. I have started a non-profit. WIN (Women's Integrative Network) to enlighten women struggling with cancer about options and tools available to them utilizing integrative medicine.
In 2011, I turned my attention to the renovation of our historic multi-family building in Great Barrington, which I spearheaded as designer, developer and general contractor. The building is now on the market as four gorgeous and spacious (1100-1600 SF) condominiums, located four blocks to town on a quiet, dead end street.
With my background in the service industries of hospitality and travel, as well as design and construction, I know what travelers want - comfort, convenience, cleanliness, dependability and location.

The reason I decided to buy this house originally was to renovate and sell it. However, I knew that if selling were not possible, we could always rent it because of the fabulous location.
We are truly at the epicenter of all the cultural and natural offerings of the Berkshires. The main gate for Tanglewood is only 1.5 miles away, we have 3 or more golf courses nearby, there are several cultural sites in Lenox either walking distance or within a few miles. Lenox is also right near all the summer stage theater.
My husband and I are outdoor enthusiasts and we love the easy access to hiking, biking and swimming. The town has several area beaches on two lakes within a two minute drive. There is a great rail trail about 15 minutes away. My husband and I ride there a lot Spring through Fall.
Lenox is nicely situated in the middle of the county, which means it is easy to access attractions north and south.
Additionally, the lot on which the house sits abuts the nature preserve. I use those trails every day and can't imagine living without them now. I can go to the grocery store everyday, which is important for us because we eat a very fresh and seasonal, vegan diet. I walk to town nearly every day to go to the post office or run an errand.
It is really just a great location.
