So close to downtown

We love, love, loved it. You were absolutely right. Two nights were not enough time to see all that there was to see. We could have just stayed in your lovely house. It was amazing! We definitely need to return and spend more time in Asheville. Your home is a gem and we were fortunate in finding it.
Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Owner's Response: When ever people rent for 2 nights they always say the same thing so I encourage vacationers to stay a minimum of 4 nights. Many comment that after they move into the house they dont want to go anywhere. Just sitting on the porch or relaxing in the Jacuzzi gazing at the mountains and sunsets is all one needs to de-stress
Thanks
Todd

We could die happy now!

We spent 4 heavenly days & nights at Eagle's Nest at the end of August. The house is beautifully decorated, very authentic in it's Arts & Crafts bones, and nestles in among the tree tops with the best view in Asheville. Less than a mile from the many fabulous restaurants downtown, and easy access to I-240 makes it the perfect location for anything you want to see or do while visiting Asheville. The beds were great & the master bath is the BOMB.
We got in a lot of vacation for 4 days, and a big part of it was the house itself. Thanks so much, Todd. We'll be back ASAP!

An ideal home for Asheville vacation

Our group of 7 adults and three small children had a wonderful time at this house. The mountain views were amazing, and the large windows and decks give you every opportunity to enjoy them. You are 2 minutes from downtown; however, you are in such a wooded area high above the city that you feel very secluded. We had a wonderful stay!

The perfect spot for family fun

We had a wonderful week-long family vacation at Eagle's Perch. The location was incredibly convenient - within a 5 minute drive of downtown Asheville and within 45 minutes of loads of fun activities, of which we enjoyed horseback riding, renting a motor boat on Lake Lure, climbing to the summit of Chimney Rock, awesome gem mining in Hendersonville at Elijah's, fishing, hiking the rattlesnake lodge trail, driving the Blue Ridge Pkwy, shopping, going to a movie, hanging out at the Grove Park Inn, and more.

Also, the owner has thoughtfully stocked the house with brochures from nearly every possible nearby and not-so-nearby activity so you have all the details at your disposal. If you need to research more, there is fast WiFi included - easy to set up and use.

There are loads of movie DVDs to enjoy at night - mostly for adults, but some for kids as well.

There are wood-burning fireplaces on all 3 levels of the house.

The master suite is awesome. The bedroom has a private balcony with seating for two and a great sunset view. The bathroom has a wonderful jacuzzi/air combo tub and a large shower. The view from the bathroom is of the surrounding forest and so serene and relaxing, you feel you want to just stare out the window all day.

The owner provides activities for family fun including a large wooden chess set, ping-pong table, lots of puzzles, and several board games.

All in all, our experience was great. We would definitely recommend this home as a place to vacation.

Stay at Eagles' Perch

Happy at Eagles Perch Raleigh, NC
Review Submitted: August 11, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The owner's description of this home is way too modest -- it's a fantastic house set in the trees above Asheville. Truly incredible views, super close proximity to the city and its fun activities, but so private and peaceful you can be fooled into thinking civilization is hours away. Wheelchair access isn't possible... but I'd otherwise send absolutely anyone I know to this house (knowing they'd return with a glowing report).

Not to be missed is the master suite with a wall of windows in the bathroom that brings you face-to-face with lush mountainside that lies just 20 feet from the windows.

We really felt as if we'd left reality somewhere along the road on the way to Eagle's Perch, that relaxation came naturally, and that the owner's careful design and planning created a space we enjoyed immensely.

Your explaination of my home is how I would describe it. It is such a peaceful place that allows me to see the gifts of nature from my home. Its overwhelming in a great way
I'm so glad you and your family enjoyed my home so much.
best regards,
Todd

If there was a "very good" category, I'd have selected that.

The house's biggest plus is the location. It's on a nice, quiet street with other nice houses which are just the right distance away. You're on a mountainside but just a short drive down to town so you get the best of both worlds.

The home's interior decor is modern and tasetfully done. There's a lot of beautiful art glass. The upstairs bedroom suite is fantastic. The other bedrooms are quite small but have comfortable beds.

The owner was nice to work with in planning our stay and has stocked the house with all sort of Asheville-area information.
Owner's Response: Thanks Leanne for your kind comments about my home and your stay. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay.

Eagles Perch is Fantastic!

When we first entered the home, we were awestruck by so many different things that we just kept saying “wow” over and over. This is a really beautiful house. The longer we stayed, the more details we noticed and appreciated, particularly in the décor and architecture. The most striking things about the house are the multitude of windows and all of the decorative glass and lamp pieces throughout the three levels. It’s a bit like staying in an art gallery. A couple of my favorite items are the antique doors and stained glass above them that separate the master office and dressing room. The master suite, especially the master bath, is fantastic. The huge plasma TV in the master bedroom was a pleasant surprise. The view over downtown towards the mountains is really lovely, and the natural light and the views of nature throughout the home are really spectacular. We spent one whole day without leaving the house and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We ate a couple of meals out on the deck, spent some nice leisurely time listening to music on the iHome system while sitting in the sunroom playing games with our daughter, and enjoyed the large TV and open space in the main living room playing games on our Nintendo Wii that we brought with us. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs and we also used the gas grill on the rear deck for one of the meals. Waking up to the lovely green trees that surrounded the master bath was really something and my 3 ½ year-old daughter told her teacher that her favorite part of the trip was taking a bath in the master bath’s Jacuzzi tub. This is really saying something, considering one of the major reasons for our trip was to go ride on Thomas the Tank Engine. The home was very clean and we appreciated being able to park our car in the garage. The driveway is about what you would expect, given the street view photo of the property, and is typical of any home with a mountain view like this. There is an area along the driveway for turning around, so that you don’t have to back out onto the street, which is nice. The property owner was easy to work with and we never had any problems with the house. We were appropriately informed about whom to call if we did run into any problems. We hope to stay in this property again during future visits and would recommend this property to most anyone. The stairs are a bit steep and may make parents of small children a little nervous with the open riser spacing. Otherwise, this home is phenomenal!
Owner's Response: Thank You so much Karen for your generous review. Im so glad you appreciate my home as I do. I look foward to having you back again
all my best
