We are both natives of Iceland. Thorsteinn Hauksson is composer of modern/classical music and also specialist in electro acoustic music, studied at Stanford University. Steinunn Sigurðardóttir graduated from University College Dublin. She has a long standing career as novelist and is frequently translated. She is also a journalist, who has worked mainly for radio and TV.
We now reside in Berlin, after 7 years in France. Thoristun remains a favourite place of ours, and we love to stay if the villa is vacant during the low season. It is an ideal place for northern light watching, from late August onward.
We bought the architectural pearl of Thoristun 19 in1997. Every year we make improvements and renovations. For instance, all the sleeping rooms are recently renovated, with new luxury beds.
Space, privacy, elegant proportions, comfort, good taste, the original art on the walls. Proximity to best known tourist attractions in Iceland, such as Geysir, spectacular ancient Parliament site Thingvellir, the black sand of the Northern Atlantic, and short walking distance to gourmet restaurants and all services.
