A great week
A comfortable home, nice to have a "master" bedroom with bath separate from the other two bedrooms. we brought kayaks and could launch them from the shore. very quiet. great views. A good kitchen (my advice is always bring your favorite kitchen items - we wish we had brought our electric griddle, but it is not reasonable to expect a kitchen with all the things you are used to at home.
Sackets Harbor is a lovely village with many nice restaurants. You are close enough to a Hannafords, Target, et. al if that is important, but not so close you know they are there. If you forgot something at home, you are in luck.
Close to Westcott State Beach for good lake swimming. There are swimming beaches you can reach by kayak or small oared boat. The water in Muskellunge Bay is quite shallow.
Great views from the deck. Really quiet during the week. Just the sound of some house building one day.
Do bring your drinking water.
All in all, it exceeded our expectations.

Nice, Quiet Lake Front Cottage
This lovely 2 story cottage was a nice place to stay with my family. It is a few miles down the road around the corner from Sackets Harbor 15 minutes from Watertown. There are plenty of beds and bathrooms. Bedrooms upstairs and downstairs. Master Bath is off the Master Bedroom. Large living room with comfortable furnishings - Very relaxed. Plenty of seating. 2 Lofts are great for a retreat for the kids.
Kitchen is small, however, it has any gadget or amenity needed and plenty of pots and pans for cooking.
Love the deck overlooking the lake and there is a screened in porch off the master.
There is a dock leading to the lake and we loved the canoe. There are no life preservers, so bring your own for children and non-swimmers. The lake is beautiful with many water birds and the entire area was very quiet when we were there. Very wooded area and enjoyed walking along the gravel road leading to the cottage along the lake. The fireflies were absolutely magical at night.
The only drawback is the faucet water comes from a well and has a strong sulfur odor. I am unsure if it was treated with chlorine (I think I detected chlorine the first couple days) therefore that may account for a yellowish coloring. The owners do have a fresh drinking water cooler that takes 5 gallon containers which can be purchased from the grocery. Linens were extra for rent. The cottage was clean, but not sparkling clean. Lake living includes dirt, so spiders, bugs, and dirt can be expected.
We enjoyed the Sackets Harbor Brew House in the village for dinner and brew, delicious but a little pricey. Couldn't beat the $2 pints between 5 and 7 on July 4th!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review! We have spoken to our caretaker and he is going to be extra careful in cleaning from now on. We are also working to fix the water. We will continue to have bottled water availible!
