JUST IN: New 5 STAR executive home with UNMATCHED LAKE, NEVER SUMMER WILDERNESS AND ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK VIEWS AND ACCESS is now available as a vacation rental. Nearby Trail Ridge Marina rents sport/power and pontoon boats so you can get out and enjoy the water.

Cruise between Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake through the canal to enjoy shopping, dinner and ice cream in town. Go out to the islands for the day in the cool shade and set up a picnic spot near easy spots for young children to play in the water. Even Moose have been seen resting on the islands and of course they frequent the local shore seen right from the deck of this home.

Maximize your time outdoors on the HUGE deck without missing a beat as you watch the boats and skiers go by. Spend a lazy afternoon lounging while the kids make s'mores over our old-fashioned fire pit or have some family competition on the Bocci Court. Hike right from the house across the dam into RMNP and up to the fire tower, about a 3 to 4 hour hike up, which will give you views across all 3 major lakes and for miles beyond. There is no better place to view the 4th of July fireworks than from the serene waters of Grand Lake.

Inside, enjoy the amenities you might expect to find in a home of this quality including a full gourmet kitchen with a six burner Wolf gas range, double Jenn-Aire ovens and Jenn-Aire refrigerator with freezer and ice-maker and GE Monogram microwave oven ... all stainless of course.

Tired from your hike? Relax in front of the great room open gas log fireplace with floor to ceiling stone work or better yet, enjoy the steam shower or air-jet tub in the main floor master bedroom. Game on? Watch it on the Panasonic 60' LCD HDTV in the great room or on the 47' HDTV in the family room while waiting to play the winner on the tournament quality pool table.

Upstairs are two additional bedroom suites with their own bathrooms and each with a ceiling fan. The lower level has a 4th unfinished bedroom made into a bunk room with king bed and bunk beds. Music Anyone? For those who know how to play there is a professional Yamaha Baby Grand Piano reserved for accomplished musicians only. For novices and children there is a keyboard for them to enjoy playing down in the family room.

We are just minutes from the town of Grand Lake and the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Grand Lake provides a classic 'old west' town ambiance and fun for the whole family. From there you can enjoy the shops, restaurants, mini-golf, guided horseback riding, guided and unguided snowmobile and ATV rentals, go-carts, bumper boats and more.

Rocky Mountain National Park is home to an abundant wildlife population including elk, deer, moose, bears, porcupines and foxes (many of these pass through the property as well). Miles of hiking and snowshoeing trails are accessible right from the home.

We came to Colorado in 1995 from Sydney, Australia and Boston, MA where we are originally from. We bought our original Grand Lake vacation home in 2000 which provided many years of enjoyment(see 184930). We moved up full time a few years ago and built this brand new home at the southern end of Shadow Mountain Lake in 2008 and now are making that home available for vacation rentals since much of our time again is required down in Denver. We hope you will enjoy the peace and serenity of this special place as much as we do.

Why Joe Penta chose Grand Lake

The lake view and access from this home is perfect. I have yet to see a better view than this home offers and I am a real estate agent and have seen them all. You can fish, hunt, hike, boat and enjoy any other recreational activity from this home. I fish the lake and adjoining streams and hunt in the national forest down the road. You can hike across the dam at the end of the lake into Rocky Mountain National Park and up to the fire tower which is about a 3-4 hour hike up and allows you to see all of the 3 lakes and miles beyond.

Our 2 familes of 10 had a wonderful time in this beautiful home! The view was gorgeous and spending time on the deck looking at the lake and mountains was our favorite. Oh wait, maybe it was the fabulous star-gazing. Or maybe it was the well-stocked and great kitchen since we cooked many delicious meals. Or it could have been the quiet surrounding the house but being so close to Grand Lake and the many restaurants and shops. Our host was very helpful and we had an overall fabulous time as you can see!

We're so thankful for this time together in your beautiful home! If it were mine I would never leave! Watching the enormous amount of birds fly in to snack with the amazing view of God's Creatioin in the back drop was better than any movie! WOW! It snowed some which made the view even prettier (if that's possible). The kitchen, especially for me, a former restaurant owner, was a JOY to cook for my family & friends in.

Hiked RMNP and across the lake on the trail by the dam, played Bocce, watched fish jump at the dam, went to the hot springs and the playground in town, fishing, kayaking, watching the Osprey in the nest, listening to Jay & Conor play music. Enjoyed being together. The house, neighborhood and town were perfect for our needs. We didn't really need to go anywhere to have fun - the deck is so lovely and the kitchen is fabulous - we are an "eating" family - Cass is the gourmet cook - and we dined well. We loved Grand Lake and will be back again.
p.s. We saw 3 moose - AWESOME!

Perfect! Cool evenings Sunny days and a few terrific rain storms. Child: "I really liked being here it was so fun, I liked going on the boat and going on bike rides. It was great! Child2:"I really enjoyed chillin' here for vacation. My family and I spent lots of time outdoors at this beautiful place! But I did also enjoy your movie collection (Lord of the Rings!) and pool table!"
