Home away from home
We can't say enough about our recent stay here. After the hustle and bustle of town and a day in the hot sun, it was fantastic to come home to this cool and breezy gem positioned in one of the quieter parts of the island. Truly a relaxing and rejuvenating place. Many residents make this complex their full or part time home, so there's a feeling of permanence and security as compared with a hotel. As with everywhere on Isla Mujeres, people are friendly and helpful.
The layout is such that you have views of both the bay and the Caribbean, making for some incredible sunrises and sunsets. The bedrooms each have their own bathroom and are located on opposite ends of the condo for privacy.
The kitchen is well equipped and has plenty of room- hit the grocery store downtown and experiment with the fresh, delicious local produce.
Cabs are easy to come by and inexpensive, and the on-site manager Jose Louis is happy to call one for you if you need a specific pickup time. We rented bikes for a day, which was perfect for leisurely trips into town and for exploring the southern end of the island. A bonus of the condo's location is that you'll see much more of the island than if you were to stay in town. Take an afternoon or two to stroll through the island neighborhoods about a 10 minute walk away, and try anything and everything you see on a grill- you wont regret it! There is also easy access to the Caribbean coast, were you'll find picturesque cliffs and great seashell hunting.
There is a nice little market on site for basics and snacks and the pool is a wonderful place to pass an afternoon. There is plenty of shade under the palapa and lots of chairs in the sun on the other side of the pool.
I can't think of any reason not to stay here! We're already planning our next trip.
