Incredible cottage with fantastic customer service
When we came to visit the cottages for the first time we were overwhelmed with how beautiful and relaxing this place was. Each cottage was clean and beautifully decorated. You have to visit to understand how charmed the cottages are: the courtyard has a quiet sitting area adorned with ivy and flowers, the decks offer unobstructed stunning views of Lake Michigan, and the open layouts of each cottage created warm, welcoming spaces. You will not want to leave.
The cottages were very well equipped with supplies for the large meal that was cooked for our guests on site. The beds were comfortable – too comfortable, as some of our families slept in on wedding day! There was plenty of everything you don’t think of: towels, kitchen utensils, firewood, toilet paper and much, much more.
Vilma, the leasing agent, was just as incredible as the cottages! She was extremely accommodating (even for a detail obsessed bride!). Her personality was sweet and fun. Over the course of a year she took time to meet us at the cottages to let us wander through and make sure that we had all of our wedding details covered. She made us coffee, offered her suggestions and the equipment the cottages had in storage (including chairs, tables and an extra fridge for all the dessert). The day we checked in, she spent extra time making sure the cottages were perfect. She even made sure the cottages had pumpkins and mums to celebrate fall. She really cared about us and it showed in so many ways. She is one of the nicest people that you could ever hope to meet.
The wedding at the cottages went off without a hitch: there were Round Barn beers and wine in the courtyard, a ceremony on the deck, a delicious dinner in the New Cottage living space, and a bonfire on the beach. It was beautiful we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to host our event here. We know that the word “wedding” would scare many home owners from renting, and we considered it a privilege to be trusted with these beautiful cottages for a long weekend.
Highly recommended. Thank you for a vacation that we will never forget!
The Perfect Place
It is an easy trip from Chicago, a short drive from I-90, right on the lake with beautiful views. The furnishings were beautiful. The first floor's open layout (kitchen, dining room, living room) is ideal for socializing with a group of people. The kitchen was fully stocked. The rooms slept our 10 guests very comfortably. The bathrooms were beautiful as well - the heated tile floors in the cold winter were a great touch. There were plenty of clean linens and towels.
The leasing agent was very friendly and easy to work with. She even brought us some firewood for the fireplace! We all left hoping that we could find another week to return this year!
