My family and I can’t quit talking about our incredibly fun & awe-inspiring experiences during our 8 day vacation in San Miguel! We planned to stay in one of the town’s lovely hotels, but ultimately decided to rent a house so that we could have both comfort and privacy. A business associate recommended Casa GGG. Once we learned more about the house and spoke on the phone with the owners, we chose Casa GGG - we couldn’t have made a better decision.
When we arrived, we had our first awesome moment – the house was even more beautiful in person than in photos. The house staff could not have been more helpful & delightful. Our boys left believing that they were family – which is wonderful because we’ve decided to make SMA – & Casa GGG – an annual tradition.
My husband and I stayed in the Jardin Suite because of its king size bed & comfy sleeper sofa – perfect for our 4 year-old & ample space for the crib. The sound of the fountain in our suite was a perfect lullaby for the kids. My brother & his girlfriend chose the Cielo Suite because of its contemporary flair and its proximity to the beautiful rooftop with its breathtaking views of SMA. My parents chose the Gustos Suite because of its separate TV room & private terrace. The Milagros Suite was perfect for my grandfather – it’s like a small apartment and he could keep his own hours.
The main living area is a large room with the kitchen, dining area & living room. The men are the cooks in my family & they delighted in the kitchen! We loved being in the living area together – playing games & watching TV & Mom loved playing the baby grand while the men cooked!
And the lovely pool! We could hardly get our son out of the water to explore SMA. It wasn’t easy getting my husband & brother out either – it has 4 submerged barstools!
I’ll end with just one more “taste” of our stay at Casa GGG. We took advantage of our option as guests to have a picnic catered in Gustos’ Amphitheater to celebrate my son’s 4th B-Day (it’s a small outdoor “theater-in the round” next door to the house). The amphitheater-garden area also belongs to the owners, and it is a great place for any party. They planned a celebration that anyone of any age would love – a costumed donkey, a candy-filled piñata, delicious sandwiches, delightful décor & a special cake baked by the staff! SMA’s culture filled us with extraordinary memories & our stay at Casa GGG was the icing on the cake!

The BEST vacation rental in San Miguel

My partner and I had the pleasure of attending a friend's birthday party in this very quaint town. We had never been to San Miguel and always try to rent a vacation rental property before opting to stay in a hotel anywhere we go! We could not have gone wrong with this property! If you are traveling solo, or with another person, don't look any further!! This jewel had been recommended by a friend who had stayed here numerous times and the owners were so easy to work with, accomodating and gracious. For those of you who have not been to San Miguel, there are now many boutique contemporary hotels to choose from at very expensive fees per night, but this elegant apartment is better than any suite at a hotel. It is private, it is in a very safe location and within walking distance and close proximity to everything. All ammenities were impeccable, it was extremely clean, and furnishings were very modern and contemporary. Our favorite was the rooftop deck lounging on the comfy chaises enjoying our coffee and morning sunshine while listening to the zen fountain! I would highly recommend this property for anyone visiting this quaint town needing a place for a couple of days or an extended rental--it was fabulous!

Four Seasons in SMA

All I can say is OH MY GAWD. We live in a very high end home on Maui but after visiting this little casita in SMA. We have decided that our house sucks. Truly. From the linens, to the thoughtful care and planning it took to make this little oasis. The bedroom can be blacked out if you want to sleep late, the TV room can be locked off for noise, the kitchen/dining area is precious. The bathroom! What attention to detail and all of it directly across the street from a city park. Gracias Lisa y Laurie! Your home is amazing.

I had so much fun in San Miguel and I really loved this apartment. It was so comfortable and very pretty. Great decor! The description that it is more elegant than a hotel suite, is really true, but it's only part of the reason I loved it here. I felt like I had my own space, even though I knew the owners were close by. Since I stayed for weeks, it was important to me that I had my privacy, but I wanted to know that if something needed repair, it would be easy to accomplish. Fortunately, no repairs were needed. (This place really looks like it's new.) It was perfectly clean and the staff was obviously well trained.
Some areas of town are very steep, but it was easy to walk around in this area. I seldom took a taxi anywhere. It wasn't necessary to take taxis since the location is close to perfect (in my opinion). I found all that I needed on a daily basis close to home including some very charming little restaurants.
I will definitely come back to San Miguel, and when I do, I want to stay here again. It was great!

I have stayed in San Miguel on several occasions and have seen several more accomodations. This charming retreat beats them all. I like to have the comforts of home when I'm on vacation and this well-designed rental combines charm with touches you'd be more familiar with in a 4-star hotel. Firstly, everything was immaculately clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I travel quite a bit and almost always end up having back trouble, but not here. Linens and towels were high quality. There are too many great things to mention. High on my list is the amazing patio with fountain.
This place is perfect for 1 or two people and would make a very romantic vacation complete. Everything looks even better than the photos show. Wireless and dependable internet, beautiful bath/shower, satellite tv and a QUIET neighborhood! I stayed closer to the center last year and had a hard time sleeping with all of the church bells ringing through the night. I had the most restful sleep I've ever had in SMA. It's about a 15 min walk to the town center and there are great things to explore nearby and along the way. If you like pastries, there's a pasteleria just around the corner near the small park. If you like cheese, visit La Luna de Queso not far away.
Lisa was very responsive and a pleasure to work with in planning my stay. I hope to come back to stay here every year. This place is truly a unique find!
