Hill House on Happiness Hills Farm in the pinnacles area of Kentucky near Berea, is an ideal place for reunions, retreats, meetings, visiting sites in Kentucky, exploring Appalachian crafts, hiking or just enjoying a vacation away from things.

The 80 acre farm includes a lake where fishing is permitted for guests, a creek just below Hill house with minnows and crawdads, fields where deer may be seen and a large remodeled tobacco barn for gatherings and activities.

Hill House offers a lot of options sleeping from 4-18. It is part of a retreat center that includes a smaller Gate House and a barn and large activities center. Adding Gate House (VRBO 161638) can add 4 or 5 more persons. The barn and Harmony Center assembly hall add great space for activities, gatherings, parties, etc.

The Hill House main floor unit has two bedrooms with 1 bath, kitchen, spacious living and dining areas and can sleep 4-7 people. An upstairs dormitory with additional bath adds beds for up to 6 more. A ground floor unit adds an additional bedroom, two baths, kitchen and gathering room. Up to 5 can sleep in the ground floor area. the main floor has a covered deck and ground floor has a covered porch.

Many Kentucky attractions are nearby or within a modest drive, including hiking trails to East and West Pinnacle on Indian Fort Mountain, Berea College, Old Town Berea, Kentucky Folk Arts Center at Berea, Berea College Square, Tater Knob Pottery and Bybee Pottery, Renfro Valley and Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, Kentucky Horse Park, Shakertown, Constitution Square in Danville, My Old Kentucky Home in Bardstown, Boonesboro State Park, Daniel Boone Forest, Natural Bridge State Park, Red River Gorge, Lake Cumberland, Cumberland Falls, Levi Jackson State Park at London, and many other sites. Owners Bill and Rose Ramsay enjoy the Bridge for Peace over Blue Lick Creek at the retreat center. The tree lined creek has open fields on both sides up to the flood control dam and lake from which the creek flows.

The Owner purchased this house in 2009

The retreat center is on an 80 acre farm just down the road from our house. Our 6 children and 22 grandchildren have roots in Berea so we purchased it as a way to continue a family legacy of close relationships and hospitality in the context of God's creation.

We enjoy being away from the hustle and bustle of today's life, but not so remote that convenience and communication are lost. We enjoy the beauty of the surrounding hills and streams and room for play, hikes, meditation and good fellowship.

The name rings the feeling any traveler would sing! The friendliness of the owners are an added delight to all who stay and enjoy the serenity of it all. This area of KY is very beautiful. The town of Berea has a wonderful artistic flare to it at every corner! With a bonus of being a college town, there are lots of things to do and places to shop and eat!
