Perfect for Us!!

My daughter, 7, and I travelled with retired friends and their grandchildren, 9 and 12. We had theatre tickets 2/3 nights and the older kids had never been to Manhattan. The apartment allowed us to be in a single location rather than 2 hotel rooms - $$ savings! The kids used the master bedroom, which has a TV and room for play. The bath and toilet rooms are separate, which was a definite plus. All beds were very comfortable. The kitchen/dining areas were spacious for NYC and allowed for several meals at home. Markets, bakery, deli, etc. are plentiful in the neighborhood. Short walk to theatres, restaurants, bus tours, NBC, American Girl, Intrepid...everything we planned to visit was an easy walk, taxi or subway trip. Even rural folks like us had no problems.

Noisy - a little - BUT this is Times Square!! We enjoyed a few pints at O'Flaherty's, and the popularity of the place made it easy for local friends to find us for visits. Exhaustion combined with background noise of air conditioners and/or TV made for sound sleeping for all. NY friends and relatives were very impressed with the size, location and cost of this apartment and have already asked for contact information for future guests. The landlord is very nice and very accomodating. I have no problem recommending this apartment to other travelers. My only suggestion - if you have several electronic devices to charge, bring a power strip. We were glad we did. If you're looking for minor flaws to gripe about, you'll find them. If you want to be pampered in perfection, stay at the Plaza or Waldorf. We were looking for a warm welcome, comfortable, affordable surroundings and proximity to places of interest. We'll be back!

Great Location

Great location, enough space for eight people. The apartment has everthing stated in the description.

Since it is located in middle of everything, noise is an issue. The main bedroom faces the busy street, the second bedroom is above the band in the bar on the first floor. You hear the music all night and early morning (until 5 am.) The apartment is not finished. It may not be good for travelers with small children.

Overall, it was a good place, nice owenr, but I will look for something else next time.

Great Location and Very nice place

We stayed in New York From May 22-24, and the experience was great. Eran was very helpful and when we had questions he was there for us. I really enjoyed the property, it was very clean and location was great. It was great walking distance to time sqaure, restaurants and local stores. When we travel back to New York, this will be the place of choice. The property was very roomy and warm. If you want to get food and drinks from local stores, you have the kitchen area to store them. Supplies were provided in all areas, such as bathroom and kitchen. If you needed something all you had to do was ask. I recommend this property and will assure that your stay will be pleasant.

Spacious, well located

We stayed here for 4 nights and found the apartment to be everything we needed for our stay in NYC. Its perfectly located, with lots of restaurants and shops on the same street and close by, and multiple subway stations within a short walk. The apartment itself is spacious and was more than large enough for 4 adults. As others have said, its directly above a late night Irish bar and there is music until the early hours - we were out most of the time so it didn't bother us, and while not as loud as has been suggested in other reviews, this may not be the ideal place if you like quiet nights in. The landlord was really helpful in storing our bags for us the day we left as we had a late night flight. The building is old and so not perfect but this adds to its character and the apartment was well decorated, clean, and well equipped.

I don't think I'd stay here again because I would prefer to stay further downtown, but for a spacious apartment close to Times Square this is ideal.

Nice location - shame it's above a late night bar

I can honestly say that this was the worst apartment we have ever used in New York - and we've stayed at quite a few over the past 15 years. The apartment is situated directly above O'Flaherts Irish Bar (google it for more info) that has a live band every night from 10:30pm until 2:30pm and the bar stays open until 4:00am. The bar is very, very popular and very, very noisey. The noise from the bar can be heard directly in the apartment. The back bedroom is directly above the band area and the master bedroom overlooks the street where all the drinkers go to smoke and drink - still talking very loud! We had disturbed nights during our stay here and we couldn't really go to sleep until the very early hours of the morning.

The apartment was OK , but the kitchen was missing many minor details such as bowls, corkscrews, bottle openers, tea towels, etc. This kitchen couldn't really be used for more than dishing out take-out food.

The general decor is OK, but there are some serious corners been cut to finish the place. Several of the power sockets don't have covers on them and live wires can be easily reached. There are no skirting boards in the apartment so the place looks unfinished.

When we spoke to the landlord on the first evening he said he did not know about the live music, despite the fact he lives on the 3rd floor of the apartment and has to pass the sign outside the bar that says 'live music every night'. He offered to move us on the first night, but it was 11:00pm and we would have had to split our party and re-pack our luggage.

The whole experience has left a very bitter taste. We love New York, but staying at this apartment has really left us feeling cheated and angry.

If anyone is considering staying here I would seriously urge you to think again. The only reason I gave it one star is that you can't leave non stars at all.

We had the privilege of staying in this apartment March 24-28. We had an absolutely wonderful stay. Hands down, this had to be one of the best family accommodations we've ever enjoyed in our 10+ years visiting the city. The apartment is so spacious we even had plenty of room to invite guests over for dinner. Our guests, native New Yorkers, were just as impressed as we were! My only regret is that the weather wasn't really nice enough to allow us to fully enjoy the terrace.

My friends and I had a great time here, the location was great there was restaurants and pubs/bars literally right across the street. The apartment was very spacious yet cozy and everything was in great condition and all the essentials were there. The master bedroom overlooked the street and gave a real new york feel. A block and some from times square, i highly recommend and property owner was very kind and understanding... great! Thanks for the fun time.
