This was an awesome place to stay! We were there for my sons body building competition. He needed a kitchen so he could cook his food so that's why we looked for a house instead of an hotel room. So there were 3 of us. There was more than ample room. The place was decorated very cute. It was immaculatly clean!! Close to everything so my sister in law and I were able to walk every where while my son took the car to do his stuff! I would definetly recommend this to any and everyone. We all will rent this same place when we come back to Charleston!!

Charming and Stylish Downtown Cottage

We recently stayed in this charming cottage for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The 1860s cottage has been sensitively updated yet maintains its 19th century character. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable, the living room had neat chairs that were also very comfortable and the bathroom had a great shower with lots of high quality towels. The kitchen was fully equipped and the washer and dryer a welcome addition.
The location could not be better. It was an quick walk to shopping and restaurants on King Street and an easy walk to Broad Street and south to the Battery. The immediate neighbourhood was fascinating with a large senior citizens' building across the way, adjoining elegantly restored historic houses on West Street and student and lower income housing not far away across Logan. Everyone, including the immediate neighbours, was friendly, the neighbourhood was quiet at night, and we felt perfectly safe walking at any hour. An added bonus is hearing the horse drawn carriages going by throughout the day.
During rush hour there is a fair bit of traffic on West Street and it can be tricky when angling to get in the tight parking space. However, early in the evening traffic calms and we were thankful to have our own parking space.
Bradley was an excellent greeter and gave us a thorough introduction to the cottage and lots of tips about sights in Charleston. Great base for exploring all Charleston offers.

Chilling in Charleston

This cottage was perfect. One Mum and 2 daughters - separate bed and bathrooms and a really comfortable lounge. Extremely well organised kitchen. It's hard to get a kitchen right but Claudia has obviously thought through all the must have's and they were accessible, new and in perfect working order. I have to say, this place exceeded my expectations both in location and size and decor. It's tastefully furnished and decorated, the beds and lounges are extremely comfortable and our dealings with the managers and Claudia herself, were faultless. They were helpful, friendly and caring. Definately would stay there again and recommend it to anyone visiting this charming city.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this pleasant, cozy cottage. It easily accommodated myself and my husband, our 2 year old son and my Mother. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were nicely updated. The manager Bradley couldn't have been more helpful. It was very close to shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. Will stay again!

New Years in Charleston

Beautiful, comfortable, clean, well equipped, and cozy! Went with another couple and we all would recommend it highly. This was our second trip to Charleston. Last year we stayed in a hotel and this is so much better and the pricing was less than the hotel last year. The home is within walking distance to anything in the historic district. We took the car out one day to go to Patriot's Point and a brewery in North Charleston that we fell in love with last year, but other than that it sat securely in the off street parking spot. We drove a Ford Edge and it fit with a little room to spare. The neighborhood is quiet, although the street is fairly busy which surprised us - think it is because there is public parking nearby & the street is one way toward that parking? However both bedrooms are in the back so you don't hear any noise back there from the street. It was great having the kitchen for our snacks and drinks - did little cooking but it is equipped for whatever you need. Having two bedrooms and baths is awesome and the size of all was more than adequate. Prior to our visit Claudia was very cordial and helpful in answering questions. Upon arrival Bradley and Ange were available to orient us to everything and assure we were set. Although we didn't need them, we had Bradley's phone number available in case we had questions. We hope to go back someday to this beautiful city and home!
Owner's Response: Many thanks for your generous review. Regarding our little alley being busy, we have found during our stays at the cottage that it is usually in the late afternoon and early evening when folks who work in the city are on their way home at the end of the day and use our street as a convenient "cut-through". Like you, we have never found it to be annoying as it's generally for just a few hours.

Charming property, great location!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It is charming and very well maintained, and has all the conveiniences you would expect from a hotel (cable tv, wifi, some toiletries). Small bathrooms, but that is to be expected in an older property, and it does have 2 full bathrooms (one has shower only), which was hard to find in other properties. The location can't be beat...easy walking distance to King Street and the Market area. The parking spot is exactly as described (tight!), so be aware of this if you are driving a SUV/truck.

I would absolutely recommend this property over staying at a hotel/motel.

I brought my 13 year old daughter and her best friend to Charleston where we stayed at this great cottage! This cottage was the perfect place for us! Super clean and comfortable. Not to mention we could all have our own space when we needed it, you wouldn't get anything like that in a hotel. We also loved the fact that we could cook our own meals, when we didn't wish to go out for every meal. The washer and dryer were also a great addition. Great location. Quiet street. We hope to make it back again some day! Thank you so much for making our vacation such a wonderful one!

Best location in Charleston!

This cottage is absolutely lovely and on a quiet alley that gets almost zero traffic. Coupled with the beautiful interior, the location is the perfect place to be able to walk to all of the attractions - King Street and The Market, restaurants, Rainbow Row, and all the tours and activities. We especially loved the restaurant, T-Bonz, near the Market. Although it is a chain, it had a very local flavor, great food, and the group "The Bushels" was fabulous! Another great little spot is the City Lights coffee house (just a short walk from the cottage). Check it out as well as all the other wonderful sights, sounds, tastes, and smells of this city. A definite "thumbs up" for the location, amenities, and great atmosphere!!
Owner's Response: Tina, glad y'all found City Lights. It's one of my favorites and just around the corner, so I love to run down for coffee in the mornings. Leaf, which is also a hop, skip and jump away is my favorite for lunch, really fresh salads and sandwiches.

Cozy Centrally Located Rental House

We spent a week here in July 2011 and when we came back again this summer, we knew this was the place to stay. The location is great and the house is nicely furnished and well-kept. We brought our young son both times and the size of the house was perfect for our little family. The property manager was very helpful. If we make it back out to Charleston, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Owner's Response: David -

Repeat guests make our day! It's great to know that our efforts to provide a clean, comfortable and safe haven for families is appreciated. Thanks so much for coming back and we'll look forward to seeing you all again soon.

This is a precious cottage in a great location in Charleston. Just a couple blocks from King Street, and yet such a quiet setting! This house was perfect for our family of 4. Everything is fresh, clean, and so well-decorated! Highly recommended!
