A Perfect Gem

Everything about this place lived up to the high expectations we had based on all the previous reviews we'd read. The cottage is exactly as described, with bags of charm and character. The rooms are spacious, the facilities are superb, everything worked flawlessly and the free use of the computer with internet access was invaluable. The location is excellent, in a quiet, friendly neighbourhood yet just a few minutes walk to the clubs, bars and restaurants of Frenchman Street and the French Quarter. Ron and Mark made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and made it clear that if we needed them they would be there for us but otherwise we would have absolute privacy which suited us just fine. They gave us the benefit of their local knowledge along with some very good recommendations for eating and drinking in the local area. We can't speak highly enough of our experience staying here and look forward to returning as soon as we can. There is absolutely no question about it - we would highly recommend Ron and Mark's place to everyone.

Skip the conference hotels and stay here!

I was in town for a conference and decided that I'd rather do a VRBO than a $200 per night conference hotel. This lovely house is about 3 blocks from Esplanade right off of Bourbon. Its a 2 mile walk to the Convention Center. I walked in each morning and had no trouble at all. You can go up Decatur and get breakfast if you'd like. Cafe du Monde is on the way.

The house is charming. The bed is fabulously comfortable. The hosts brought over a blender and strawberries for me to make smoothies in the morning which I really appreciated! You simply cannot go wrong with this lovely home.

Living like a local in Marigny

The apartment is lovely & quiet. Everything was in tip-top shape upon arrival! Communication was easy and efficient between Ron & Mark and us. They repeated many times during our stay to call if we needed anything.

We loved being able to walk to the FQ & Frenchman street in 10 minutes.

We would definitely stay here again, and plan to!

All the great reviews are true!!

My partner and I just returned from 4 nights at this apartment and it was just the best!! I was a bit hesitant to stay here, just because there are so many glowing reviews (can it really be that great)? Well, it is...we've rented quite a few apartments on different trips and this one was the most enjoyable (Ron and Mark have thought of everything you might need). Also, be sure not to miss Three Muses on Frenchmen...even if it's an hour wait for a table, it's well worth it!!

Charming and quaint experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at New Orleans and that experience was enhanced by staying at Ron and Mark's place. This is a lovely, peaceful place, in contrast to the brashness and noise of Bourbon Street. We much preferred the Frenchmen Street area which was much quieter, with plenty of places to eat and drink. We would recommend the Three Muses for anybody looking for good food in an intimate environment with good music, friendly service and reasonable prices. You need to get there early though! The friendly mini-mart on Esplanade was handy, and Rooses good for more selection. The hot tub was wonderful after miles of walking. The cottage is very spacious, beautifully furnished, and extremely clean. Will recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans.

Ron and Mark's place was absolutely perfect. Great location on a quiet street in Marigny. Ron was the perfect host: helpful, but gave us our privacy. We were in town for Voodoo Fest and Halloween, and couldn't have picked a better location. House was filled with amazing history and tons of charm. Can't wait to visit again!

Great New Orleans Vacation!

I could have written my review of this house upon my arrival instead of at my departure. This is a great place to spend a vacation!! The house is on a quiet residential street, within walking distance from the French Quarter but tucked away from all the noise of Bourbon Street. The owner's, Ron & Mark are very friendly & welcomed us immediately. They are very knowledgeable about the neighborhood and pointed us in the right direction to many great restaurants. The property is beautifully decorated and clean! We enjoyed spending time reading on the patio. Thank you for offering a great escape! And thank you for the delicious soup & mustard greens!

Even better!

We stayed here several years ago for 2 weeks, and came back because we enjoyed the area so much. Ron and Mark have made this Creole Cottage even better than before! The location is fantastic for jazz on Frenchmen's Street and forays into the French Quarter. There are new fabulous restaurants in the area. While we were there, Ron and Mark put up an 8 foot real tree and decorated it for us. They had many holiday decorations in the cottage which really gave it a festive feeling. It is a very comfortable home. We've stayed in many vrbo homes, but this is a first that provides not only a computer but also a printer and paper!

Perfect location, beautiful rental, lovely hosts!

I stayed here for a week and couldn't possibly have found a better place. As others have said in previous reviews, the photos don't do this place justice! It was so spacious, clean, and cozy! The artwork and decor were gorgeous, too, and really added to the feel of it being a very special place. A lot of love and care has gone into this unit and I'm so lucky it is the one we chose to stay in.

Ron and Mark are truly lovely people. They were so kind and helpful and never intrusive. There were two vegetarians in our group of three and they not only gave us some excellent recommendations of where to eat (Mona's on Frenchmen hit the spot!), but they even brought over some homemade veggie ratatouille (which this meat-eater ate a large portion of!). How sweet is that? They greeted us upon our arrival and gave us a nice tour of the home and answered every possible question we might have had and made themselves available to us if we had any more. Of all the rentals I've stayed in over the years (there have been quite a few), Ron and Mark were by far the most gracious, kind, helpful, and hospitable. I loved those guys!

Everything was perfect. I didn't think I would make use of a hot tub, but let me tell you, after a day of walking what felt like miles, soaking in that tub made all the difference in the world. It was so relaxing and such a beautiful oasis to do it in, too. I already miss it.

The location was ideal, too. When I visit New Orleans, I spend a lot of time on Frenchmen St. We were literally a few blocks away. The French Quarter was just a few blocks away, too. We walked just about everywhere; Armstrong Park, the French Quarter, Frenchmen St, Cafe du Monde, etc. Everything was so easily accessible. I think we only took a cab once when going to the Garden District at night. This is a great location for folks who like to be near all the action but not right up in it. The unit is very quiet and peaceful so when it's time for bed, there will be no distractions.

There aren't enough superlatives to describe this lovely rental or Ron and Mark. I will always remember their kindness and graciousness and am grateful to have had the opportunity to vacation in their absolutely beautiful rental. Thank you, Ron and Mark, for everything!

Even better than expected

My husband and I are here in New Orleans to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, we were married here, and we were extremely excited to return to this wonderful city. This cottage is exactly what we were looking for and exceeded our expectations. Ron and Mark are really thoughtful hosts and have thought of everything you might need, the home is spotless, spacious and comfy (especially the bed), and nothing beats soaking in a hot tub after a long day of walking. Everything looks just like the photos, and even cuter. Very much so a "home away from home". Very convenient to the French Quarter and also up and coming Bywater. Really quiet, which was a must for me since I'm a light sleeper. We're very self reliant travel types and had places researched already, but we did go with a couple of Ron's recommendations for food and we weren't disappointed. One location tip: if you plan on visiting the Garden District, Black Pearl and other areas further west more than once and you're not renting a car, be sure to check the street car schedule as the St. Charles line was down for upgrades while we were here. Stay here and tell your friends!
