A great alternative to staying in a hotel

We stayed in the apt. for 9 days over the Easter break. The description complied very well with the actual property. WiFI worked great, enough towels and a well equipped kitchen. There was plenty of hot water as well. Even though the traffic could be heard but we would still stay here again. It was nice to be able to come back to the place and put our feet up after a long day of sightseeing and shopping.
There are lots of little eating places in the neighbourhood and a convience store just across the street. The Metro is just for blocks away and will take you easily to Midtown and down to the village without having to change lines. Elio's on 2nd and 84th is a good Italian option. Central Park is a short walk away and the 5th avenue shops easy to get to.
The owner was very easy to deal with and it was nice not having to pay a large despoit when booking. They were very good about letting us leave our luggage in the apartment due to a late flight as well.
I would recommend the property to people wanting an alterntive to expensive hotels.

Perfect Location

Just returned from a weeks stay at this apartment. First time to NYC and we loved it, this apartment met all our needs and the neighborhood has everything you need. Chic the owner is responsive even though there really wasn't a need to contact him but he checked with us as soon as we unpacked. Buses and Subway are close and GO99 pizza down the street is the best deal NYC has to offer. We are hoping to come back for a month in the summer of 2014. We will check to see if we can get this apartment again.

Nice enough, good location

We thought it was ok, but not nearly as nice as the pictures. The front window was broken, with bits of paper stuffed in the cracks in a vain attempt to block the drafts. In the middle of winter,the downstairs was noticeably much colder than upstairs. The carpet in the stairwell downstairs (not part of the apartment) smelled dreadful and needs replacing. There was no cover for the quilt in the main bedroom, mould in the grout in the bathroom, and mice in the kitchen. As mentioned in an earlier review, perhaps the cleaning lady could do a better job. It wasn't outstanding value compared to a hotel room at a similar price, but there was a lot more space than most hotel rooms.
On the positive side, it is a great location close to the 77th st subway, the hot water was plentiful, and we had no hassles dealing with the owner. Also, the pizza Mia across the street and Pick a Bagel on 2nd ave were both excellent.

A great place to stay in Manhattan

What a lovely little apartment for a stay! It was everything we needed: had a working elevator, air conditioning, and the fire escape provided a balcony-like place from which to view the activity on the street.
ANd once we closed the windows, the traffic noise almost vanished.
Walking one block took me to the public bus, and from there, we could go anywhere, with just a quick transfer to another bus or subway. And to take a cab from the theatre district home each night was only about $10.
Groceries were 1/2 block away, and a wine story 1/2 block the other direction. Nice restaurants close by.... it's New York after all!
The management was very easy to work with, and all was exactly as portrayed in the ad. We efficiently picked up our keys, had a lovely stay, paid the amount asked for (no hidden costs) and were very pleased.
I would definitely rent from these folks again. It was an excellent experience.

Great stay in this apartment

The apartment is exactly as you can see in the pictures but older, or better, used. Anyway it´s a great property: spacious,comfortable and plenty all things you need.
The neighborhood is interesting, next to subway and plenty of different shops and restaurants (for example, "Spice" restaurant, next door, has delicious and cheap meals)
Just only a few things we didn´t like:
- We think Chich, the owner, needs change cleaning lady because flat wasn´t so clean: for example, windows at street was dirty and that it brings on a bad impression because i think it is one of the first things you do;
- Shower curtains, old and plenty of wet dark spots, pleased ask be changed...
- Laundry in basement is so expensive and it doesn´t clean well our clothes.
- Ironing set is old and doesn´t work in an efficient way
We think that with little investment, things can be improved.
In any case, we had a great stay in the apartment and we just can say Chich is a great and accomplished owner that always tries to find solution to your issues

Excellent apartment

It was my first time renting an apartment this way and it has been GREAT!!! the stay has been really nice! Everything on the apt was perfect, it was fully equiped with EVERYTHING we needed, the landlord was extremely open to ask any kind of questions about the apartment. If I come back to new york I would definetly rent this apartment again! And of course I will recomend it to other people!

My boyfriend and I stayed in this beautiful apartment for about a month. We had a fabulous stay. Everything was provided down to sheets, comforter, pillows, towels, plates, cups etc. The apartment is well kept, neat and spacious. It is centrally located and there are tons of shops and restaurants around. We had a wonderful stay and I would stay again there in the future. It was a very easy move in and the owner was a pleasure to deal with!

We enjoyed several weeks in this large, comfortable 1 bedroom. The location has good access to shops, restaurants and the subway, and there is enough space for a family. The host was responsive to our needs, such as our request for Wifi. The carpets could use a cleaning, but all in all there are a lot of pluses with this property.

My husband and I lived on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in the 70s, and it had been awhile since we had been back to NYC. We wanted somewhere to stay for a week and found the perfect place from Chich via VRBO. Turns out it was only a few blocks from where we had lived, and some of the old haunts were still around. The apartment was just as advertised, and had all the amenities promised. Issues that previous renters may have mentioned have all been taken care of and then some. Getting the key and access to the place was a snap, and we settled in quickly. Chich was extremely responsive and made our stay pleasant. The location is convenient to Central Park, museums, transportation, restaurants, shops, groceries, laundries and cleaners, etc. We had a great week and would recommend the apartment to others.

We stayed for one week during August. Check-in was a breeze and the property appeared clean and had most of the things that you needed. Chich was a great owner and was always available. We decided not to bother him with the fact that there was no toilet paper or dishwashing detergent - we weren't bothered really but some people could find it annoying to be without these amenities. This room was a good price for the amount of space! Very comfortable. The aircon was handy too at the end of summer. It was also close to the subway (about 3 blocks away) and we walked everywhere else, for example to the museum of natural history and guggenheim.
