Basics: The kitchen is brand new (not yet shown in photos) and done to a very high standard. Normal-sized refrigerator, gas stove, Bosch dishwasher and deep sink. The bed is a Beauty-Rest plush-firm queen with down pillows and sateen sheets. The bathroom has marble tiled floor, high-end fixtures and a strong pressure shower/tub. There is a common commercial-grade washer and dryer at the bottom of the stairs.

Electronics: Brand new LED HDTV (w/ standard HD cable (CNN, CNBC, ESPN, etc.), DVD/CD player (w/ DVDs), wired/wireless internet, ipod/mp3 speakers & cable, ipod clock radio, air-conditioner, telephone & answering machine with free US & Canada LD, hair-dryer, vacuum, laser printer.

Essentials: No smoking, no pets, no parking (ask), sleeps 2 maximum (no exceptions). Includes all utilities and furnishings, very detailed owner's manual for apartment and neighborhood, along with owner's personalized restaurant map.

Expectations: Please note that Beacon Hill is on a hill in an urban historical zone, so there is a fair amount of walking with this apartment building located at the top of the hill. The Nest apartment is a 4th floor walk-up (3 flights of stairs) without an elevator.

We have other accommodations in the Beacon Hill neighborhood with different profiles, so just ask. We've been renting high-end furnished rentals for over 5 years.

My husband and I recently stayed at "The Nest" and every need was met. The place was stocked with things needed and we were thankful for the umbrellas as it rained during our stay in Boston. The subways are within a 10 minute walk. Attractions and restaurants are also within walking distance. The only drawback is that "the Nest" is on the 4th floor and lugging luggage up was a challenge, but was well worth it upon opening the door. I would recommend this to any couple traveling to Boston.

This was our first experience renting through HomeAway. The property was everything we need to have a great stay in Boston, it was very well appointed quite clean. The information booklet had the best information about the surrounding area good tips on where to go for meals and to shop to be self contained. Thanks for a great first experience we will be telling our friends to book their next holidays accommodation throught this site. We had a fantastic time.

Living like a Local

5 of 5

I recently stayed at the Sunny Studio during a short trip to Boston and found it to be a delightfully wonderful apartment!
The stairs, steep and narrow, were a challenge for me and my heavy suitcase, however the reward at the top was worth it!
Cozy and comfortable, I felt like I was able to "come home" after a day of walking the North End or shopping at Faneuil Hall and experience the pleasures of living like a local Bostonian.
It was close to all amenities, and directions to anything you could possibly have needed was at your fingertips in the super detailed manual provided.
The bed was firm, the shower was hot and full of pressure, and best of all, I felt safe in the quiet top floor sanctuary.
Without a doubt, I would stay here again over the expensive, impersonal hotels in the area......and hopefully one day again soon!
Thanks again for helping to make my Boston experience unforgettable!

"Great location"

"Great location"

This was our first visit and we lucked out with the nest. The location is great. Grocery and liquor stores within a 2 minute walk. Train stations nearby. Easy to walk around the beacon hill area. Very quite. Bed and shower were both great. We had every thing we needed. Dining within walking distance.

My only improvement would be to have one upholstered chair.....Not a big deal. [note from owner: we added a very nice chair based on this suggestion]

We plan on going back next year.

"charming beacon hill apartment"

My husband and I used to live in the neighbourhood a few years back, and
during a recent visit to Boston, we enjoyed several nights in the Sunny Studio.
Without a doubt, it was an authentic Beacon Hill experience. Charming
neighbourhood and close to everything. The unit itself was cozy and clean, and
felt more like a home than a hotel. Up on the top floor, we also really enjoyed
how quiet it was. The kitchen is convenient if you want to stay-in and cook,
and the Whole Foods is only minutes away.

PS - Beacon Hill Bistro on Charles Street makes some delicious vanilla pancakes.

"Awesome place to stay in the best neighborhood."

I was staying in Boston for a couple of months and needed a place that was walking distance to everything. This place exceeded my needs by being in a beautiful, historic neighborhood and being so close to Whole Foods which allowed me to cook! If you're into running, there's a great path by the water just a few blocks away. If you're into shopping there are several places just down the street. If you're into nice restaurants, there are plenty of those as well. The owners were completely accessible and friendly. If you're on foot and in shape, this is a great place. Walking up the hill and 3 flights of stairs turned out to be a great workout! I had some problems with the fridge staying cold but the owners are replacing it. That would be my only complaint. You'll love this place!!!

It was home!

Submitted: June 29, 2010 Stayed: April 2009
I arrived April 16, 2009, to run The 113th Boston Marathon. My priority was to find a place to stay within 20 minutes walk of the finish line. Downtown hotel rooms were running $600 plus. The studio I rented for 1/3 of that was incredible. It was home! So comfortable, so close to everything. I ran The Marathon and I walked 2 marathons in the 7 nights I was there. I ate out twice for lunch. All my meals were in. I bought my own food at the grocery, one block away. I ate healthy, I ate like I would have eaten at home. I had such a great week. It was truly a dream week. It was a 10 star experience.
