Beautiful Rental

PDX Family Portland,OR
Review Submitted: March 12, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
My family and I stayed here recently and absolutely loved it. It's beautifully furnished and clean. It's not always easy to find a rental that has all that and is kid friendly, but this has it all. Everything is updated and nicely remodeled. We especially enjoyed sitting on the back deck and playing in the garden area. The sun shines directly onto it and is perfect for grilling and entertaining. It's also walking distance to a very cute park and downtown Mountain View (which has so much to offer).
We highly recommend this home!
Owner's Response: We have added a barbeque on the back deck to make summertime parties even more appealing. We love suggestions to make this property feel like your home away from home!

Beautiful home away from home

Review Submitted: October 26, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
I rented this vacation home for my family during my wedding. Maria (manager) was extremely accomodating and responsive. The house is beautiful, especially the backyard, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay...infinitely better than a hotel. The location is also very convenient. The house is impecabbly kept and well decorated. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay on the peninsula.

Exceeded our expectations

We travel a lot and have been staying at rental properties for years (my wife and I highly recommend this over hotels) and we found that the property exceeded our expectations. The recently built home has an excellent floor plan with lots of room and is very clean with nice decor. The home is secluded and private, but is a short walk to a great Thai restaurant and downtown is a short and enjoyable walk. The owner made sure we had contact people available for any issues (she was on vacation for part of our stay) and are quickly available (we borrowed a bathroom scale to weigh our luggage for our flight); but they are completely out of sight if you want privacy. We will definitely be back.

Great Find!

Particular Pennsylvanian Harrisburg, PA
Review Submitted: August 29, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I'm always a little skeptical when I view things on the web, knowing that people accentuate the positive and hide the negative. But this time, what we saw was what we got - and we couldn't be more pleased. Our daughter was getting married in Palo Alto and the thought of spending a week in hotel rooms held no appeal. This house was nicely furnished and well-maintained, had more than ample room for six people (we weren't tripping over each other), was in a quiet, well-kept neighborhood and allowed us the luxury of enjoying the little downtime we had in comfort. The owners provided a friendly welcome and were quick to respond to our inquiries. The location allowed quick access to grocery and retail stores (for our wedding weekend activities) and the large kitchen was a god-send for us. Internet access was also a real plus!

Surpased Expectations

This was my first experience with VRBO and it was very positive. The home was all that was advertised, the owner and manager were easy to work with and provided information on a timely basis answering all questions, giving good directions and replying promptly to both calls and emails. The home is delightful in layout, cleanliness, and amenities. The location was convenient to my activities which were around Stanford and Redwood City. If my family and I return to the area we would all definitely consider renting the same home again.

Quiet, private, but accessible!

As it is never easy to find short-term family accommodation around the Palo Alto Area, we were delighted to discover this property! Well-equipped and finished to a high specification, it is comfortable and private. Accessible to the entire Silicon Valley area, especially Stanford, it is within walking distance to the train and SV Metro, and to the many restaurants and shops that Mountain View provides. We'll be back!

Excellent alternative to a luxury hotel

Ed 3 Canton, OH, USA
Review Submitted: August 6, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
This two-bedroom two-bath duplex is an excellent alternative to a luxury hotel room. It has all the amenities: two large bedrooms with bath, a family room with cable TV and wireless internet, a full kitchen/eating area with all the appliances you will need during your stay. Decor is tasteful without being cloying or "cute." The back yard/garden is sufficient and equipped with a full-sized gas grill. It will easily accommodate four and as many as six adults. Located within minutes of Stanford University. This is a "can't miss" if you are staying in the Palo Alto/Mountain View area.

Great alternative for business travelers

Review Submitted: April 26, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
This home is half of a duplex, with the entrance down a private path lined with jasmine and roses - creating a sense of returning to a quiet retreat after a long day. The cherry tree was in full bloom and we spent a good deal of time on the deck - which is huge and includes a gas grill and a table and chairs. The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It's also worth mentioning that, with the exception of a small step up into the house, this is all on one level and suitable for people with disabilities. The master bath even includes a huge walk-in shower (there's a tub shower in the other bath). The owner provided us with some wonderful young veggies to let us know about the farmer's market, which we highly recommend. It's held on Sundays and is at the train station (about a 10-minute walk) - where you can also catch the light rail to San Jose or the Caltrain to SF. This is a great location - about 6 minutes from 101 and 4 from Camino Real and there are tons of restaurants and a couple of great bookstores in Mountain View. The owner is also very cooperative and willing to work with unusual schedules when possible. We would highly recommend this home.

Perfect rental home

Vesalian Bern, Switzerland
Review Submitted: April 15, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
I am a consulting faculty for Stanford and stayed here with my family (2 adults, 2 toddler boys) for two weeks. This rental home was a great choice. It is walking distance to Castro Street and Caltrain Station. The house was absolutely clean and well equipped (food center/fridge with ice machine, toaster, microwave, stove, TV, internet). We found the huge central closet very convenient to store all our travel gear. There is a sunny, fenced backyard with a deck as well as a small lawn. The homeowners did all they could to make us feel comfortable. There is really nothing bad to mention - we strongly recommend this rental home.

A Beautiful Place That You Can Make Your Home

Rena5 Bay Area, California
Review Submitted: February 26, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2008
I stayed at this beautiful home for 6 months with my boyfriend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. This was the second place we viewed for renting, and we were so awestruck by the way the house was beautifully furnished and re-modeled that we signed the lease the same hour! The kitchen wass very nice and had all the appliances that one needs to use for cooking. I loved the way the bedrooms were furnished and there for
plenty of room. The outdoor patio was great for quiet evenings of relaxation in the warm atmosphere. I loved the close proximity to so many wonderful places to eat on Castro street and walking on the nearby trail. One of my favorite places to eat was Shana Restaurant, a Thai food place just 5 walking minutes away! I would definetely recommend this very nice home for anyone that enjoys a safe neighborhood, quiet atmosphere, beautiful and unique furniture, close proximity to many local restaurants
and places to walk, and an owner who takes great pride in making sure her tenants are well taken care of. I was able to get a hold of the owner on many instances and resolve cleaning schedules etc on a timely basis. I would definetely recommend this home for anyone who is looking for a beautifully furnished home, a great place to wind down after work, perfect area to walk to the nearby trail for a jog, or take a stroll to the nearby restaurant for an evening meal.
