I felt nurtured like a baby bird!

What a beautiful little love nest hosts Jerry and Michael created in the BEST location in Waikiki! I'm a single woman with grown kids who has stayed in many 4 and 5 star places in Waikiki (Royal Hawai'ian, Ala Moana Surfrider, The W, etc...) and not one of those places made me feel as welcome, safe and nurtured as I did here.
This was my 9th trip to Waikiki (for surf/business) and the best trip by far. The big chains could stand to learn a few things from Jerry and Michael, the most generous hosts who share their gracious ALOHA with their guests! From first initial contact, to their warm greeting on my arrival, to the thoughtful treats they put in the fridge and the stamped postcards I found in the desk drawer... there was always a surprise and detail that made me feel personally welcomed and cared for. (In reading these reviews for the first time, I see they do these sweet things for Every Visitor!) Honestly, Jerry and Michael made me feel as if I was the one and only queen bee to ever visit their nest! Thank you both, my mainland friends cannot get over how restored my spirit is!
The room: A jewel-like oasis designed for comfort. Small, yes, but mighty on features and amenities, and completely user friendly! The lovely design of the full-sized bathroom stocked with special soaps, shampoo and conditioner was another wonderful extra that was completely unexpected... I really enjoyed that bathtub after hours of surfing and walking everyday. The big beach towels were a bonus too, and I loved wrapping up in them after my baths. (And there were more than enough towels, another very considerate feature!) Be sure to heed Jerry’s advice and pack light! Stock up on healthy snacks and bevs at the brand new super Safeway up the street when you get here. Take a cab back for around $7. You'll be glad to have drinks in the full sized fridge (with an icemaker!) and a glass of wine to enjoy every evening at sunset on the fabulous (and underused) rooftop deck. If you are a couple sharing this room, get your stuff unpacked right away - once you do, you'll be all set. Ask the hosts about their similar unit right next door. Great idea to book both if you are traveling with a friend but want separate accommodations. Bring a pareo, a hat, sunscreen and your toothbrush. Really, you won’t be needing much else!
Mahalo and big hugs to Jerry and Michael. You really wowed me!
I can’t wait to come back!
