This condo was clean and attractive with a gorgeous view of the ocean from the kitchen table or the bedroom. It was very private and decorated with nice furniture, very cottage-like. There was a TV in the bedroom for relaxing in bed and also a great flat TV mounted on the wall. I loved the high ceilings in this unit.
There are a few things that are worth noting. The owner's # is not listed on the info in the condo, so take it with you. It's not stated, but they live below the unit. In the amenities, laundry facilites are listed. However, they are in the owner's garage and you do NOT have access to this; you have to make arrangements with them while they are home--very inconvenient even though they seem very polite. The bed sheets were pilling (little bumps all over them from low quality) and the owner had them replaced immediately.
Also, there is not a kitchen sink--you have to prep food and wash dishes in the sink that you use to wash your hands after the bathroom and use to brush your teeth. There are not stovetop burners--it is a 2 burner hotplate that doesn't cook food very well. There was a tiny charcoal grill on the floor of the lanai that looked broken. We used the small gas grill by the pool.
This condo is right on the ocean, but you can't swim in front due to the high seas and rocky beach. I believe the owners tell you this too. There was once a path to the beach that's now overgrown and the stone walk is all broken with a mound of something under a blue tarp--disappointing. The area by the pool is also a little deceiving. The patio furniture is old and the area is overgrown. We didn't use the pool.
Overall, I think this would be a pleasant stay for a couple of days to see the wonderful town of Kailua with all it's character and shopping. Kailua beach is the best and we really enjoyed eating at Buzz's Original Steakhouse (really good, casual, but a little pricey). I think the listing of "deluxe" is not accurate and if you take note of everything stated above, you'll be fine.

Owner's Response: Guests are welcome to call anytime.
The owner's phone number is on the check-in directions sent to the guests and is on welcome letter in the room.
Owners gladly open the garage door for renters to use laundry whenever they ask. We do not leave the garage door open when we are not home as we have many expensive home maintenance items stored in the garage.
High count linens are always provided--however, if guests feel they are not happy with them in anyway, we are happy to replace with brand new sheet sets or towel sets.
The kitchen area is a mini kitchen as we are a legal vacation rental with legal permit. We are not allowed a full kitchen in either rental unit. Each is equipped with 2 burner portable stove top -both are stainless steel and brand new and work quite well. There are also microwave convection oven units in each as well as toaster ovens, blenders, electric grills, coffee makers. This unit also has two refrigerators--a small one for drinks and a medium size one for food. There is also a wine chiller. There is not a designated kitchen sink in this unit. There is a deep square plastic tub under the kitchen counter for filling with water and drying rack--fresh sponge, dish soap and towels for drying provided in unit. The little kitchen area has served guests well for 20 years.
The path to the beach is marked with stepping stones. Property owners are not allowed to pour concrete onto the sand as there is a property set back 40 feet from the natural vegetation line on the beach.
Owner's bicycle is stored under a blue tarp on a small deck under an outside stairway to prevent salt air/moisture damage resulting in rust.I hope this does not offend anyone but when you live this close to the ocean rust preventative measures are a must.
Deck furniture by the pool consists of teak dining table with 4 chairs and a teak chaise lounge. When exposed to salt air, teak turns gray and is quite a natural site at island homes. There is also a stainless steel gas grill for guests to use in this area. For tropical dining, tiki torches are available in pool closet.
