Area Amenities:: The Pigeon Forge area has many attractions/restaurants/theater and dinner shows/outlet mall shopping to keep you busy for your vacation. Cades Cove is a must to see, with the 11 mile loop drive with old historic settlements and wildlife, take a picnic lunch to the park by the stream and enjoy a barbeque, running stream and wildlife, great way to unwind and enjoy nature. We make it a family tradition every Christmas Day, and the animals also know it's Christmas. We always see more wildlife in the park on this day. The area towns are lite up with millions of Christmas lights for Winterfest, which starts Nov. 7 and runs through end of February, and don't miss Dollywood during your holiday stay, it is simply amazing at night in the park. For the golfing enthusiasts check out the many golf courses in the area within 20 minutes of the cabin
Stag's Leap Cabin Decorations: The towns are all decked out for the holiday seasons, and Stag's Leap is no exception. Fall- with the autumn color changes brings the mountains alive with brilliant hues of red, orange and crimson with the crisp mountain air. Stag's Leap nestled in a wooded setting is simply brilliant with color outside and inside the cabin, beautifully decorated for fall (Sept. till end of Oct.) and again for the Christmas season (Nov. till end of Jan.). Don't wait this cabin books up very fast.

I was hooked on the Smokies when I was 15 years old driving along in my Dad's motorhome to the Smoky Mountains. Once I got my nose out of the book I was reading, wow the mountains were amazing. I told my parents that when I grow up I will have a log cabin here in the Smokies. Well, 30 years later and yes I am dating myself here, but I finally did it. I first bought property behind Dollywood but found one winter we couldn't get to the property for the icy roads, magnifacent views but undriveable with the winter weather high up in the mountains. Needless to say we sold that property and it took me 10 more years to find the perfect cabin (needing a total remodel) for me in the natural mountain setting in the foothills of the Smokies.
I bought Stag's Leap on November 23 and took possession at Dec 23/05 a Christmas present to me, first thing that went up a small Christmas tree and I was in heaven, then the renos started.
Enclosing the loft into a true bedroom with a wall and door for privacy, getting rid of the fuscia carpeting was a must then the hardwood went down. I was definitely in heaven folks. After the decorating renovation was completed, I could right a book on the happenings during the renos, quite funny with the wild turkeys pecking at our truck, my impala going up the hill with a roll of carpeting and underpad in the trunk and having to back up into a cabin driveway for the traffic coming down the hill and so on. Many wonderful memories but the renos weren't finished yet, an addition was planned to bring the pool table inside the cabin year round instead of on the large screened in porch so we started that remodel in 2009 with a proper dining room with internet desk
After renting for 10 years, a different cabin each time we went down to see the likes and dislikes of cabins our cabin was finally finished and I have to say the inside of the cabin has grown and changed so much, cozy, comfortable and attactive if I can say that of my cabin.
Why this property, why not this property?? I wanted the 'traditional Tennessee log cabin. It spoke to me driving into the circular dirt driveway. It had a certain feeling, can I describe it absolutely not. I could only say 'I'm home'.
Large circular flat and paved driveway with parking area only 1 step up to the large covered front porch. A short 12 minute drive to traffic light #3 on the Pigeon Forge parkway, close to shops, entertainment and dining. Not high up in the mountains so winter getaways no problem. Most important Stag's Leap is in an older established resort with large lots and 1 acre of land to the property, semi private being set back from the road. Wild turkeys right at your door step for hours of free entertainment and entertain they do.
