Great Value in a clean, comfortable condo

Chicago Newbies North Carolina
Review Submitted: November 1, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Our experiences were in line with previous renters. Andre provided excellent customer service and was available by cell phone for questions while we were in Chicago.

The condo was clean, spacious, comfortable, convenient to Ashland station on the Green/Pink lines into Chicago. Cab fare from downtown to condo was about $10 with tip - a nice quick way to come home after a long day in the city. Included in the rent was an enclosed parking spot, which puts this property over the top in the great value category if you have a car.

We found Chicago to be an especially friendly city, with great parks and museums, performances, restaurants, tours and other attractions. It would be hard to not have a great time -- but with so many possibilities, any research you do prior to arrival will optimize your visit.

We would recommend this property to friends.

Great value accomodation close to the City

It's always difficult to find the perfect vacation accomodation in the perfect location. This property hits the spot! Very comfortable and clean with amazing views over the skyline. I'm not usually an early morning person, but thankfully jetlag allowed me to watch the sunrise over the city from the window of the apartment....spectacular. To watch the moon rise later in the evening was a real treat. Really, the fireworks and the air and water show visible from the property came after the natural wonders.
Given the views, we often ate there in the evenings, but also enjoyed some of the fabulous restaurants in the city. The Signature Room in the Hancock Building was a special treat and the food exquisite (incidentally, it's cheaper to have a drink in the bar on the 96th floor than it is to visit the observatory). We also visited Rhapsody in the Loop which presented a beautiful setting and meal...among others!
We found it useful to check the guidebooks to see which days we could visit museums for free, as the cost of visiting so many really piled up. The City pass also works out a real value, if you intend to visit the places listed. Guide books are readily available in the apartment.
Andre was very easy to communicate with and I also found it convenient to communicate by email (wifi connection available in the apartment).
We were sad to have to leave such a perfect spot at the end of our trip, but would readily recommend the apartment to family/ friends visiting Chicago. I would return to the apartment myself if I have the chance to return. I can't recommend enough a trip to Chicago or such an amazing apartment. Book and enjoy!

My family and I were more than pleased with the condo. It was beautiful and clean. The beds were comfortable and my daughter loved the large tub. There was more than enough room for four people. My husband and kids loved the gym. It was nice to have an enclosed parking space. Aside from going to the supermarket, we didn't use the car at all. The train station is a short walk and got us to the Loop in 10 minutes. Andre was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend this property. When I go back to Chicago, I will stay here again. By the way, the view is spectacular.

Clean and Convenient Chicago Apartment

Family in Chicago Little Rock, AR
Review Submitted: July 2, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
The view was great but the access to public transportation and the overall neatness and cleanliness were more important factors to us. The Green and Pink lines are at the Ashland Station (on Lake Street, a 3 block walk). Garage parking space comes with apartment, and access to building is by coded key (there is a guard on duty much of the time). Grocery is not within walking distance but a Dominik's is easily reached by car about 1.5 miles away (Halsted at Madison). Owner was easily reached by cell phone and questions were answered promptly by him or a friend whose number he provided. We had two grandchildren with us and enjoyed the spacious apartment with two bedrooms, two baths, and a large living area. Wireless was good and our notebook computer was handy to have with us...gave us all the info we needed on Chicago. No TV in bedrooms but that was no problem since we don't watch TV anyway. One high table and two bar stool type chairs were inadequate for dining but there was a card table and folding chairs that we set up and we got by ok. the cooking area and refrigerator were beautiful and quite functional. Dishes and cooking utensils were adequate. There was no garbage disposal, but trash bags and trash chute were available so it was fine. We didn't find restaurants or other activities in the immediate area but we were on the grand tour (of museums) rather than looking for fine dining, so it didn't matter. We did order in from one restaurant the guard recommended, using the menus the owner has provided, and enjoyed the service. We bought 3 day transportation passes at a check-cashing facility and we were quite willing to get around by bus and train, leaving our car in the garage. We would stay here again when we return to Chicago. Try it out, you will like it if you are looking for comfort, convenience, and privacy. It's not luxurious but it certainly met our needs.

Great Value!

This is a great condo for the price. It is roomy & very clean! The views of the city at night are amazing! We would turn the lights off & just enjoy the lights.

The "EL" station is an easy 2 block walk & we actually didn't use our car at all during our stay. (We stopped at the grocery store on the way in. It is close by, but too far to walk) It only took about 5 minutes to ride the "EL" into downtown.

The "EL" does pass by just across the street, so it is a little loud. It didn't bother my husband or kids at all, but I bought ear plugs after the first night & then I slept much better. :-)

This was a nice place to stay...much better than staying in a hotel!! Andre was easy to work with. We would definately stay here again.

This condo made us feel like we were Chicagoans...made us feel like we lived there!
Comfortable space that is minimally decorated but has the essentials for a comfortable stay. Nice marble bathrooms and modern kitchen.
Great views.
El trains are a short walk away so you can go anywhere from here. Walk to the Oprah Show and a few restaurants.
Not much of a neighborhood feel outside(lacks corner stores and coffee shops) but all residents and staff were very friendly within the building.
Four of us stayed for a long weekend and it worked out very well for us. For the price, I would say you get a GREAT deal!
