I am very surprised to see the review written by "Shocked". We stayed at this home last season and it was wonderful. The house was clean, the owners met us when we checked in, and we felt very comfortable that we could contact them if anything happened. Of course nothing happened. Dinners were great on the screened in porch and we were lucky enough to have many nights with great sunsets.

I will rent this house again and would recommend it to others.

We don’t solicit or encourage reviews to HomeAway, that would illegitimate the forum. We have been renting our house for 7 years and having nothing but positive relationships and many repeat renters. “Shocked” is upset about a cleaning deposit that is not part of the contract and was certainly not mentioned verbally. As a result “Shocked” is retaliating, untruthfully. This is a beautiful home that we take pride in. We are certain you will enjoy your stay, much like all of the renters over the past 7 years have.

I am shocked at the only review on this home. Our rental started out with an email I received on April 27th after I inquired about renting last fall - "If you are interested in renting our home the rate will be xxxx. This is our lowest off season rate, we added the xxxx for asking our cleaning woman to change her other clients schedule to accommodate us. She is wonderful to us and we want to keep her happy". Then, on October 18th, before we arrived at the rental I received an email, "I suggested xxxx and his buddies have their annual guys golf cape escape weekend on the 29th. That way, if dishes are put away, kitchen counters are clean, only sweep if you thing it is needed. Don't clean showers, toilets, etc. as these guys will never know the difference". Then, on November 8th I received the following email, " xxxx was at the cape this w/e and said it looked like you totally cleaned everything!!! Thank you so much, we really appreciate it."
Obviously, I asked for my cleaning fee back and the owner has never responded to the two emails that I sent to her. It was quite clear that the home was not cleaned before we arrived, so were the previous renters also charged an additional fee and the service was not completed??? There were post-it notes everywhere concerning the use of the TV, ice maker and washer/dryer. As for the condition of the house, the mattresses need replaced, the pillows and mattress pad covers were stained and disgusting, shower curtains were torn and had mildew on them - I could go on and on. And the worst issue was that when we left we were to leave the keys in the house and exit through the garage. The opener was by the entry to the house, so my husband had to push the button, then race across the garage to get out before the door closed - a very big safety issue. Even though the location of this home was great and suited our needs, I would look elsewhere before I committed to this one!!! Others that rented nicer homes at the same time paid much less than we did.
