Completed in November 2005, the house is situated on the clear waters of Master Harbour, directly on the beach. Twenty-two feet of glass doors and windows across the open concept living and dining rooms frame the stunning view of the bay. Our spectacular terrace, which has ceiling fans and is also shaded by a traditional Bahamian roof, creates the perfect spot for watching the boats sail by en route to George Town or just relaxing in the breeze with a good book. The garden has palm trees, oleander, hibiscus and other wonderful tropical plants which are illuminated at night, as is the heated pool. The house is fully air-conditioned and consists of 3 bedrooms each with its own bathroom, with bath, shower, WC, washbasin and hair dryer. All bedrooms have generous built in cupboards. The living room is open plan with the dining room and they share wonderful views of the bay.

There are comfortable sofas and a TV, stereo, games, puzzles and books. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large fridge freezer, electric oven and 4 hobs, microwave, wine cooler, electric kettle and toaster, ice cream maker, mixer and garbage compacter. There is a washing machine and drier in the 'wash house' next door.

Master Bedroom: The master suite at the west end of the house is furnished with a king bed, closet, large shower and bath, WC and hair dryer. This room boasts a spectacular view of the bay and Crab Cay and has a direct access to the terrace and swimming pool. There is air conditioning and a ceiling fan.

Guest Bedrooms: The guest bedrooms are fully air conditioned and have two separate beds, shower and bath, WC and hair dryer. They both have large closets for storage and ceiling fans.

Living Room: The open plan living room features a stunning view over the garden to the private beach, pier and across turquoise water to Crab Cay.

Two sofas and comfortable chairs provide plenty of indoor seating space. There is also a TV and stereo, puzzles, games and books.

Dining Room: The Dining Room seats 6 people comfortably and has a convenient hatch through to the kitchen. There is a fan above the table and wonderful views of the bay to enjoy while munching away!

Terrace: The terrace runs the full length of the ocean side of the house. You can enjoy a meal on the large table in the evening, or lounge on the deck chairs. From the terrace you also command a view over the pool and bay. There are 2 ceiling fans on the terrace.

Garden: The garden has an abundance of tropical plants (hibiscus, palms, oleander etc.) but also a large paved area for sitting around the pool. The garden and pool can both be lit up at night.

Pool: The heated pool is a fabulous luxury! It is perfect for jumping into first thing in the morning and refreshing during the day, and wonderful for cooling off last thing at night.

It is illuminated at night and just looks great! The beach is sandy and wonderful for lazing on in the cool of the evening.

Amazing House

The first year we stayed in this house was when we switched from another house that was totally unacceptable. A rental agent knew that we could not spend eight days in a dump that was under renovation and full of mice so she got in touch with the owners of The Beach House and they agreed to rescue us. We returned to the Beach House for our Christmas vacation in 2007. It was like going home!

The Beach House is spacious, beautifully decorated and thoughtfully equipped. Located at the warters edge of Masters Harbour, it lends itself to beautiful views. Georgetown is a short drive away and Little Exuma with The Tropic of Cancer beach is less than ten miles from the front door. The northern end of the island is not much further.

We go to Exuma to relax and enjoy family. Days are spend at the most beautiful beaches in the chain of islands. Diving and bone fishing trips are readily available.

This year we chartered a boat to take us on a day trip of the cays. It was spectacular with a stop at the cay with the the swimming pigs and the cay with the iguanas. We
collected shells on private beaches and had a delicious lunch at the marina on Staniel Cay. John McKenzie of Barraterre was our captain for this day of adventure.

We highly recommend this house nd Great Exuma.

My family spent a wonderful week at the Beach House last October. A friendly representative from the property met us at the airport and guided us to the house which was 20min from the airport and 10min from town. The home was well appointed with warm decor, an upright piano, a spacious dining area indoors and outdoors which we loved sitting at over long meals and watching the ocean, beautiful small pool and wonderful dock to accommodate a 20' powerboat we rented in Georgetown and rode back to the house (a 12 min ride!)- being able to dock a boat at the house was terrific (a little bit of a challenge at low tide getting it it/out) as there are many beautiful small islands just a short ride away to explore. These were all of the positives, however, I have to add that there were areas for improvement- the home seems to have had some storm damage as evidenced by staining on the furniture/walls/doors not closing properly - there were many little critters that seemed to get in the house due to lack of window screening and windows closing fully - drainage issue in one bathroom- baby crib left in one adult bedroom. The beach by the dock shown in the photos is not crystal clear as some sea grass/rocks are there- this is not an issue as you have a pool and gorgeous beaches in every direction on the coast and just a short boat ride away. These issues aside, the home is very unique for the island and afforded us a memorable, enjoyable vacation.

Do we have to leave already?

We had a great time at the Beach House. Here are a few things to know if this is your first trip to Exuma. The food is extremely expensive (I was shocked and not prepared for that). The kayaking trips fill up quick - book before you come. We did go for a day to see the swimming pigs, swam with sharks, lunch, and to see the iguanas (Roberts Adventures - great tour guides). I should say incredible tour guides - we were at Thunderball Grotto and a newlywed couple lost his wedding ring and the tour guide found it on the bottom of the ocean in coral - AMAZING! Highly recommended though it is a really long day but worth it. Hit the fish fry - great fun and great food. It seemed to me that the restaurants were on their own schedule - some times they were open and some times closed. Cheapest goodie in town was the ice cream and sandwich shop just after passing through Georgetown....the ladies in there were a hoot - we had a great time down there. We body surfed alot although not by the house - you have to drive to different beaches. The beach in front of the beach house is very small, private and sheltered. We spent many hours on the porch. Lem and his wife were great and gave us much advice.

Greetings from Texas. We have returned home from our wonderful visit to your beach house. Before arriving we had the usual worries about images and descriptions on the internet not showing a true picture. In this case everything was just as described. Lem met us at the airport and delivered us to the lovely house. The house was very comfortable and the grounds were beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, the water activities, and most of all the warm reception by all the local people.

We spent such a nice week at the Beachhouse. We had a lot of fun , fishing was great as well as the incredible beaches, snorkling and each island and place we visited was amazing.
