My family had a great vacation staying at the Morning Star Cottage! The property has fantastic views and it is maintained at an extremely high level. The location is perfect, with close access to Booth Bay Harbor and many other Maine attractions. We have been vacationing for in Maine for over thirty years and of all the properties that we have rented this is our favorite place. The owners are friendly, family oriented, and great to deal with. We will certainly want to stay here again in the future.

We choose The Morning Star home because we are traveling with a a dog. The house has a great view, is spotless and very open. Kathy and George have been great to deal with. The back yard is perfect for having a dog, nice grass area. The neighborhood is beautiful and very safe. A short drive to Boothbay Harbor. We are loving our stay even with it currently raining. Would highly recommend this house.

We loved the house; it worked out perfectly for our family. It was impeccably clean and so well equipped with pots and pans, spices and paper goods - even laundry detergent. We rented kayaks for 2 days from Wiscasset Trading Post and they even delivered and picked them up. We hope we can go back next year! Only change would be to get a canoe too!

How very lucky my family was to happen upon this wonderful vacation cottage. The experience was 1st class from beginning to end. The homeowners, George and Kathy ,were partners every step of the way. From our initial inquiry about the home, to providing descriptions, sending pictures, the booking process and preparing us for our arrival, the owners made sure that we were well informed and comfortable. While the pictures are spectacular on their own, they do not do justice to the real thing. Originally we were attracted to this home by the pictures that were provided on the internet. It was open and appeared very clean. Reality proves that to be an understatement. Morning Star has a very open floor plan and is impeccably clean.The attention to detail is everywhere. The use of pale pastels throughout the home keep it light and airy. The moment you walk through the door you know you're someplace special. The hardwood floors are gleaming, reflecting the light that bounces around the house through the many windows over looking the harbor. The open concept allows everyone to socialize whether in the kitchen or sitting on the four seasons porch. Speaking of the kitchen, it has everything you need to fullly function at meal time. Pots, pans and all appliances. On the sleeping level there are three bedrooms that are all nicely decorated in the theme of the entire home.....comfy. The third level is almost a suite of it's own with a built in twin window bed, a futon sleeper sofa, extra seating, a bathroom with shower and an amazing outdoor porch funished with a swing and wicker seating, easily seating 5 people. The icing on the cake is the yard leading down to the water. How spectacular the view is while sitting in an adirondack chair watching the sun disappear. We actually cancelled a day of sightseeing so that we could spend the day at the cottage. We've rented homes all along the Eastern coast of the United States. Morning Star is truly the one that captured our hearts and will remain in our memories FOREVER. We will return to Maine for a vacation and we will return for a stay at Morning Star Cottage. Anyone planning a trip to the Boothbay Harbor area should not cheat themselves out of the opportunity to spend time at Morning Star Cottage. The Morning Star Cottage was beautiful. Water views in every room. Very relaxing and enjoyable. We felt at home as soon as we got there and look forward to be able to return. Kayaking with the seals was a lot of fun!!!
