Long weekend in Taos ski valley

allyf Northumberland (England)
Review Submitted: September 15, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We came from England and were thrilled to find this cabin in the mountains! Situated away from the road it is very quiet, and beautifully furnished in New Mexican style and immaculate. A first for us was staying in a place with a hot tub, and this is lovely after a day spent walking the beautiful trails in the area. We would recommend the Gavilan trail if you are feeling energetic, which goes up the mountain from the house. My daughter particularly liked the comfortable 'three-bears' beds! Holly gave us a real American welcome, and couldn't have been kinder. We would love to come again (6000 mile flight each way notwithstanding).

Skiing Vacation Dream

Fast Franky Fort Worth, TX
Review Submitted: March 24, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
This is one of the best values I found when looking for a place to stay close to the resort. I wanted ski/in ski/out but did not want to pay for it. The cabin is about a mile from the resort close enough for convenience but far enough away for privacy.

The hot tub was wonderful after a day on the slopes, very relaxing.

The owner, Holly, respected our privacy yet when I asked if she had a sewing kit so I could repair our ski bibs that had ripped out, Holly offered to get her sewing machine out and do it for us, and she did an excellent job. Thanks again Holly.

It is truly unique experience and I intend to return often.

Fun & Relaxing Ski Vacation

Carebear08 Dallas, TX
Review Submitted: February 18, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
The location of this property in relation to Taos Ski Valley is great!! We were able to sleep in every morning and still get to the slopes right after they opened at 9 AM - quick, 2 minute drive. It's also very private, tucked in behind another house, so you can barely see it from the road. We were able to enjoy the hot tub without feeling like anyone was watching us. And Holly was very hospitable! I left a pair of jeans there when we checked out, and she actually offered to mail them to me. SO NICE!

The only reason I'm not giving this place a 5/5 is because the driveway was not plowed when we arrived and our front wheel drive vehicle could not make it up to the house. We had to park across the street. No big deal, though. Other than that, our vacation experience was great!!! I would definitely stay here again.

relaxing getaway

Review Submitted: August 26, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We spent our family vacation here Aug 08. Great place for a family of four. Far enough away to have peace and quiet and close enough to go and do whatever.
Very clean and comfortable and the proximity to the Gavilan hiking trail was great.
Holly was more than willing to help be sure we enjoyed our stay. She was great at directions and plenty of ideas on where to hike, shop or eat. Hottub was a great bonus.
Me, my wife and kids are ready to go back anytime.

The Perfect Getaway--Any Season

Brandon Larson Dallas, TX
Review Submitted: January 14, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2007
We have stayed at this property many times, the last being this December. It's so convenient being so close to the ski valley but also not in the middle of all of the craziness of the resort. During the summer, we also love to ride the ski lift or shop in the ski valley, hike the Gavalan Trail or play in the river--both very near the rental. It's also so close to Arroyo Seco, which has so many cute shops. Plus, Holly is so helpful and informative--she's always so willing to assist us with anything we need. We already have our summer visit booked! Our daughter looks so forward to our visits there.
