This is a great home for a family fishing trip such as ours, or any kind of family vacation. There were plenty of beds for everyone and the layout of the home provided a good amount of privacy between all but two of the bedrooms. These two were perfectly laid out for Mom & Dad to be in one room and the kids in the room next door. As far as kids are concerned I would rate this great for kids, there is plenty of room for them to play inside and outside the house. I will say that this house to me is the ideal lakefront vacation home. It is not so fancy that you are afraid to let the children play for fear of them knocking over this or that and breaking something expensive looking. It is furnished in a comfortable way so that you can really relax and feel at Home!

The owners really are very nice and attentive to you as a renter. They promptly responded to several e-mailed questions that we had before we took our vacation. Also, they called the day we arrived to make sure we had found the house, made it there safely and that everything was to our satisfaction upon arriving.

My family has vacationed in this area many, many times over the years and really just enjoy the lake. I have to suggest to anyone staying at this house they should check out the store just past where you turn onto the road the house is on. I'm sorry that I cannot think of the name, but they have lots of fun different things to look at including a large inventory of wines, including some non-alocoholic wines that we enjoyed. My absolute favorite restaurant is "No Bologna" on the main road of the area. They have the absolute best Sub sandwiches that I have ever had anywhere and the lady that owns it actually remembers us from year to year. Since we have discovered this sub shop we probably eat there at least twice each time we have been on vacation there.

The next time we are at Smith Mtn. Lake we will be staying in this house if possible!!!! We would highly recommend it to anyone who would ask!
