Etoile de Mer is surrounded by palm trees on .75 acre of land that adjoins Taylor Bay. Custom designed to catch the leeward breezes which gently waif through the house, Etoile de Mer feels like a lovely home, not a rental. Divide your time between the beach, just steps away, and the large, fresh water pool, gazebo and deck at Etoile. The gentle tides of Taylor Bay offer an opportunity to wade, swim, snorkel, or kayak. The fine white sands bid you to take a long walk or sit and watch the sunset. Etoile de Mer is three floors: the ground floor is an apartment with its own exterior entrance as well as an interior staircase. The main floor, on the level of the pool and deck, has a spacious living room and dining room, a large kitchen, screened porch, two bedrooms and two full baths and a wrap-around veranda. The upper level is the master suite with a balcony, sunken bathtub, bathroom and large shower.

People enjoy Etoile so much, renters return year after year.

Adults love to walk through the water or float on a raft from one side of the bay to the other, carried by the gentle tides of the bay. Others like to take any number of the four kayaks provided at the house and explore beyond Taylor Bay into the Caribbean. Complimentary private tennis courts, resurfaced in 2012, are just steps away. Providenciales boasts world-class scuba diving, including spectacular wall dives. In the evening, dine on the veranda and watch the sun set over the Caribbean or enjoy international gourmet dining just minutes away. After dinner, stroll the beach, watch cable television (all major U.S. networks), listen to music, watch a DVD, look at the stars, or simply enjoy the sound of peace.

The main house (one and a half stories)sleeps 6; the apartment sleeps 2-4 as there is a fold-out queen couch. The Master Suite and the apartment have air conditioning. The rest of the house is fully ventilated through jalousy doors and windows and ceiling fans.

About Margaret

We bought Etoile de Mer on our first trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands. We had never even considered buying a house in the Caribbean and before the trip had not even heard of Turks and Caicos! That's what the island can do to you!

Dave is a commercial architect and has used his expertise to upgrade every part of the house - from oiled bronze hardware to Italian porcelain to new stucco.

Margaret is a retired business woman and manages the entire operation of the house, in partnership with an on-island property manager.

Margaret purchased this house in 2004

Why Margaret chose Providenciales - Provo

There are a lot of white marble palaces on Providenciales, many of which were built exclusively for the rental market.

Etoile de Mer is a home, not a business. It is lovingly cared for and appreciated by our entire family and recognized across the island as the most authentic Caribbean-style home on Providenciales. Etoile combines old-world Caribbean charm with completely modern upgrades.

And the location couldn't be more perfect - 50 ft. from private tennis courts, 100 ft. from the most gorgeous beach on island, 20 ft. tall coconut palms, over 100 flowering plants, and green space on 3 sides. Paradise.

We feel very blessed to have found Etoile de Mer and to be able to share it with renters.

What makes this house unique

Sunset Bay, the residential community at Taylor Bay, is composed of 27 large (3/4 acre) lots; only 12 are built on which gives the area a lot of green space and the villas privacy.

Though all beaches in the Caribbean are public, there is not direct public access to Taylor Bay. If you stay in a Sunset Bay villa, the beach is right there for you.

Imagine an early-morning walk on Taylor Bay and being the only one on the beach.

We stayed at Etoile de Mer for a week in April with our 3 young kids, ages 8, 6, 3. We had such a lovely vacation. Etoile de Mer is a wonderful home approx. 100 yards from the beach, a 2 min walk to the most beautiful beach on Turks and Caicos. From the upstairs bedroom and top balcony, you are able to see the bright blue water. The owner Margaret was great to work with, she was very helpful, easy to communicate with and provided a lot of great information prior to arrival. Once we arrived Dinesh the property manager met us at our rental car company. She escorted us to our house and gave as a full tour and information briefing, which was SO helpful. She provided us with all of her contacts to call if needed ANYTIME. We only called one time with a minor pool issue that she took care of within 1 hour. Dinesh also arrange to have a cleaning person come mid week to change sheets, and clean the house, which was nice. Dinesh even made sure we had a few cold beers in the fridge (since we came on a Sunday=no alcohol sold at the stores on sundays).

THe home is fully stocked with everything you would ever need-towels, kitchen supplies, beach toys, kayaks, pool toys, beach chairs, nice grill, etc.... We hung out at the pool a lot after we all got burnt the first day.... The girls had a blast in the pool, kayaks, hammock, and loved sharing the top floor master bedroom..... The house does not have air conditioning in the main house (only in Master bedroom and basement apartment) but it is completely open for cross ventilation ocean breezes. We never once felt like we needed or wanted the air conditioning on. The neighborhood is quiet and off the main drags (which we like). Takes about 10-15 mins to the main shopping, busier areas of grace bay.
If your looking for a lovely home, on a quiet beautiful beach with a pool then this house is perfect. It is a great house for families with young kids. I would highly recommend Etoile de Mer. Hope to return soon!

Great Time at Etoile!

We stayed at Etoile last January for a week and had a FANTASTIC time. Our daily, or twice daily, visits to Taylor Bay were a real highlight. The walk takes about a minute and the bay is great for snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming. They even have a nice assortment of kayaks you can easily bring along.

The house is amazing. It doesn't feel at all like a rental property. We could easily imagine staying there with three other couples without getting in each others way. It is really spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The newly renovated kitchen is excellent if you want to cook your own meals or just make a quick breakfast before heading out for fun. The kitchen counters are an amazing composite made out of seashells. We've never seen anything like it and it is so Caribbean.

The grounds are beautifully landscaped and lush, providing much privacy. The gazebo and pool are very conveniently located near the veranda and a wonderful place to spend a quiet afternoon relaxing.

We like to play tennis and run, and you can easily do both of those at Etoile. The courts are very nearby and in excellent condition. The local roads are good for a morning run.

When you want to get out and explore, there are surprisingly excellent restaurants. We've never eaten so well on a vacation. And there are great beaches on every side of the island.

Overall, you can't go wrong with a vacation at Etoile. We look forward to staying there again!

Beyond breathtaking!!

This spacious villa is everything we expected and much more! It is located within steps of one of the most beautiful and serene beaches on the island. Three generations of our family stayed in this spotless home and were able to enjoy each others company and still have our private space. The owner's management company could not have been more helpful. Without a doubt I am recommending Etoile de Mer and hope to return next year! We went to Las Brisas a nearby Cuban restaurant located on beautiful Chalk Sound for a special New Years Eve dinner.
Taylor Bay which is also known as Sunset Bay has a special place in my memory...my son proposed to his girlfriend at sunset.
This house is not to be missed!

Perfect for young children

Taylor Bay is perfect for children and toddlers (a football field of knee-deep water). Etoile de Mer is the best choice on Taylor Bay. We used the kayaks everyday. Everyone else on the beach wanted to borrow them. The other villas were either too much of a hike to bring a kayak, or their villas didn't offer them. The gazebo and pool were great for times away from the beach. The house is very well-appointed. We were two families of 4 (2 toddlers, 2 babies). The house worked great for that size group. We've been all over the Caribbean, and I have not seen a better spot for toddlers, although every age would enjoy it.

Thanks again Margaret, your house is beautiful, wonderfully comfortable and very well equipped. (my only confusion was the many varied blender parts with very few matching:) luckily we did find one base, container and top that matched! for the obligatory frozen drinks!) The Island breezes through the house were amazing, despite the sunny summer temps we never felt hot. Collectively we have all spent a lot of time in South Carolina (our summer vacation spot of choice for over 30 years) I think our group can all agree that Taylor Bay and your home made summers in South Carolina a distant memory. We cannot wait to come back, and are already making plans to do so. Thanks again -The Brocks and Egans

Etoile was home to my belated 60th birthday celebration and it was everything I wanted - time with family - three daughters, husband and fiancee.
We loved the many places to read, sun, play, exercise and enjoy the T&C life.

We had an amazing week at Etoile de Mer. A perfect vacation spot to unwind from our busy lives. The warmth from the sunshine was fantastic. Friday we sailed into the sunset. Awesome!!

Our memories: the lazy mornings with our cup of coffee, the pool (watch out for that last step!), Taylor Bay where we practiced our snorkeling - some of us for the first time - sightseeing, more snorkeling, evenings preparing a meal with a glass of wine or a taste of the best rum.

We were two couples who found Etoile de Mer to be most comfortable - quiet, lovely breezes, and well equipped. We played tennis, used the kayaks, watched sunsets on the beach, and swam in the pool.
We took a trip to Amanyara for lunch (reservation required) and were a little overcome by the opulence, but it is GORGEOUS.
You have a lovely home and we are grateful for your sharing it with us. Thank You.
