Marsh Retreat was the ideal place for 8 winter weary travellers to stay for a week. We were pleased to find the house clean and as advertised. Our first impression was that it felt more like a home than a rental and so spacious! After two days of travel we were relieved that all the beds were very comfortable. The adults were looking forward to unwinding in the hot tub yet the small round tub had no seating and the temperature was difficult to regulate (either cold or boiling). It was a nice surprise to see that the living room furniture was different than the photos. It had been replaced with three comfy couches, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the fireplace. The kids enjoyed sitting in the canvas captain chairs around the kitchen island more than the adults did! The cooler weather prevented us from enjoying sit down family meals together as the main dining table was on the back screened in porch. An added bonus was the ping pong table underneath the house. The owner (Kelly) was pleasant and prompt in dealing with some initial problems at the house. We appreciate how quickly our security deposit was returned to us after our too quick stay. Folly Beach and Marsh Retreat are high on our list for a repeat visit.

First, I would like to thank Kelly for making our Christmas Family trip wonderful. Second, our family had a wonderful experience and loved our time in Folly Beach. The property was very clean. The grill was the only thing that really could use a good cleaning. The weather was too cool for the pool, but a couple of our group did try the hot tub. The location was great. Every morning walked to the beach. And a couple of us did walk into town. Kelly even went above and beyond and provided a live Christmas tree that I requested for our arrival. I do think that it is possible to actually have the ability to have more people if maybe 2 queen beds were downstairs - the bedroom is quite large on the first floor. I would recommend this property to anyone. Most of the properties do have stairs, so that might be the only challenge for some people. LOVED OUR STAY!!

One suggestion would be to add a photo of the back porch with the table since that is your main table for eating. Also, just show one picture per bedroom to avoid confusion of number of beds.

We had family from Knoxville, Pittsburgh, and Denver staying at this wonderful clean home. The pictures do not do this house justice. The views are spectacular, the location is perfect, and quiet! The covered patio is wonderful! The beds were soft and so nice to sleep in. Would come back again! Thank you for a great stay!

We loved the house....so roomy; we were there for our daughters wedding, so we had different family members in/out at different times, and still had plenty of room. Pool was super - especially after being on the beach - great way to cool off. Location is very convenient to lots of things; quiet surroundings. Just a lovely place to stay. Owner was great to work with - very accomodating. Will definitely return next year for another visit - maybe a longer stay !!

We had a wonderful vacation at this home! Close beach access, fully stocked kitchen, very clean all throughout the house. We will be staying in this home for all future trips to our beloved Folly!

We used the Beach House for a weekend gathering of old high school and college friends. It was perfect. The house was one of the cleanest and most well designed I've been to at Folley Beach (and I've been to a lot!). The size was more than comfortable for the group of twelve we had. The beach was less than a five minute walk, but the hot tub, pool, and beautiful patios made it difficult to leave the house (granted, I do live in Charleston!). I would absolutely rent this house again in the future.

I recently stayed the weekend at this wonderful home with a group of old friends. The location is great. It stands one row back from the beach in a little 3 home cul de sac directly across the street from a beach access. It's like another world compared to the east side of Folly Road towards the washout. No street parking and college kids everywhere. The privacy is more like Litchfield, but you're still a straight shot down the road from all the bars and restaurants of Folly. The spacious porches were a very nice plus, along with the charcoal grill.

Our stay at Folly Beach was absolutely fantastic! This house has plenty of open space and large bedrooms. We had 14 people in our group and we all enjoyed the large gathering space on the main floor and the privacy of our rooms when we needed it. The hottub and pool were definitely a major amenity! The outdoor shower has hot water (something you don't see too often). This "Marsh Retreat," as it is named, is very clean and well maintained too. We were just a short walk (100 yards away) from the beach which made evening walks and morning bike rides very easy to do. The house is only 8 short blocks from the center of town where you find plenty of local shops (got to check out Bert's grocery and McKevlin's Surf Shop!) and restaurants (i.e.,Folly Beach Shrimp Company and Rita's Cafe). We had a nice, fully-equipped kitchen and even had a charcoal grill, making our family get together a memorable time. Finally, if you stay at this house, you will most definitely enjoy relaxing on one of four porches...the ocean breeze and starry nights are incredible! I highly recommend this property for your next beach vacation.
