About The Owner

Your hosts are Ron and Sally. We've raised our three children here since 1988, and they're now all young adults.

We're not yet retired, but able to do some of our work from home. We're friendly, casual introverts. It has been great to meet a wonderful variety of people from all over the country.

Why The Owner chose McMinnville

Sally is a native Oregonian. She lived in Portland during her young adulthood, and hoped to raise the children in a more rural area.

McMinnville, 33,000 po., has been perfect. And the countryside is just plain gorgeous!

One of our friends dubbed our place Low Heaven Farm. It stuck -- and we have to agree that it IS 'heaven on earth.'

What makes this apartment unique

We love our country living, while still being close to town. Sally continues to expand the orchard -- it now has 34 varieties of apples, 8 plums, 5 pears, 4 cherries. Ron relishes his time on the tractor, and he just added 24 solar panels so the apartment's electricity needs are now supplied by solar energy.

This property was wonderful! It was even nicer than the pictures make it appear- the grounds were beautiful, the apartment itself was comfortable, spotless, and lovely, and the hosts were kind and helpful. The property was very private. The goats and tree house were a big bonus- especially for our little one. It was a quick ride to downtown and wineries- we will definitely go back!

Perfection and privacy on a farm minutes from downtown McMinnville

Every detail had been attended to, before our arrival, by our delightful hosts, Sally & Ron. The apt. is immaculate, comfortable, cozy and in a beautiful setting just minutes away from downtown McMinnville. We found fresh flower arrangements, a bottle of Oregon wine, and a refrigerator and pantry filled with an assortment of breakfast items upon our arrival. Our granddaughters always look forward to visiting us on the farm, where they can enjoy the animals, swings and tree house. It is fun to watch the dozens of birds that visit the bird feeders right outside the large view windows. We have stayed there several times and will continue to return for our Willamette Valley interludes. It is an amazing vrbo with wonderful hosts who will provide everything that you need, but respect your privacy. Our thanks to Sally and Ron for giving us a delightful home away from home.

Wonderful Vacation

The apartment was wonderful, clean, warm, bright and sunny. Given our previous experiences with Oregon weather in March, we enjoyed the clear weather which allowed our grandsons, 6 and 3 to enjoy the outdoors. The older one felt like an adventurer in the treehouse but is safe and secure. Ron and Sally are delightful hosts. They communicated well prior to our visit, then were very attentive during our stay. It was lovely to be able to wake and fix a breakfast with supplies they had secured. We visited the Evergreen Air and Space Museum which is a fine collection of planes and activities. We hope to return in the summer to enjoy the flowers and plants. I would recommend this property without reservation to friends and relatives.

This cozy apartment and the beautiful 13 acres was even better than we expected !
Beautiful views, very clean, tastefully decorated, quiet, and oh so comfortable.
It was in farm country, yet only 10 minutes from town.
The owners were so hospitable and respected our privacy. Loved the kitchen and all the nice touches, like fresh flowers, heated towel rack, and fully stocked kitchen.
We will be back !

My husband and I had a wonderful 5 day stay here. This place has everything you could expect or want and more.
It is very spacious and you have all the privacy you need in a very lovely setting. Lots of breakfast foods are provided; we ate too much. The kitchen was well stocked. You have use of the washer/dryer. It is very convenient to go into McMinnville to restaurants, etc., and it is also very convenient for visiting wineries in North Willamette Valley.

I highly recommend!! I would love to return.

Clean, comfortable, with beautiful views and lots of privacy. The house is charming with views from every window of beautiful countryside. Sally made us feel right at home, then gave us all the privacy we needed. Loved being outside of McMinnville in the countryside, yet close to everything. And our kids LOVED the treehouse. Will definitely stay again.

COUNTRY CHARMER

How we wished we could have stayed longer! Our hosts were welcoming and have outfitted this lovely apartment with all one needs for a quick weekend stay or a month. Located on a thirteen acre farm, the solitude and the surrounding nature provide a peaceful and pastoral setting. This charming apartment is bordered by flower gardens and a bouquet awaited us as well as a great pinot noir-such a very special touch! The owners have created an informative binder that not only offers places of interest but also recommendations for dining. Providing breakfast foods made our mornings so relaxing and we were able to plan trips to nearby Willamette wineries. Our weekend went too quickly but we look forward to visiting again this summer. Thank you!

Absolutely Wonderful!

We had such a wonderful stay here. We truly could not have ask for more. The open feeling apartment was perfect for our little family of 4. It is lovely, clean and has plenty of privacy. The kitchen is well stocked with what a cook would need. We cooked both nights of our stay & never lacked anything. The breakfast items provided were a wonderful & appreciated touch. The hosts here are extremely hospitable & have thought of everything. No detail is overlooked. The property is lovely and the tree house is an amazing thing to behold. The kids loved it (well, OK so did Mom & Dad).

We have stayed in several different vacation rentals over the years and I have to say this did not feel like a vacation rental, it felt more like a home away from home. I highly recommend this property.

My husband and I stayed here over a weekend and it was by far one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. It was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view. The owners were welcoming and took time to explain where everything was located, gave restaurant recommendations, and when our grandchildren stopped by, took everyone out into the pasture to meet and feed the goats. It was a wonderful experience and we totally recommend it.
