A cute one bedroom log cabin on Rangeley Lake just steps to the water with canoe/kayak launch, swimming and fishing. Picnic table and grill at the water's edge. Bedroom has a queen and single bed. Great for a couple or family with one child. Close to all in-town amenities with golf course just up the hill near the Country Club Lodge. The town has a dozen restaurants, movie theater, gift and ice cream shops, a great library, town park, historical museum and a well-stocked IGA.
DirecTV/DVD/VCR for rainy days/cabin fever.
AVAILABLE MEMORIAL DAY-MID-OCTOBER
Located in a wildlife preserve, frequent sightings of loons, deer and the occasional moose!

My wife and I were looking for a nice peaceful place to spend our honeymoon. With Fall aproaching we delayed our trip to coincide with the beautiful foliage we had only seen in pictures. We are from California and there are 2 foliage colors here, green and brown. As lovers of nature Maine seemed perfect.
A Google search for cabins for rent lead us to HomeAway and Loon Cottage. It is a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom cabin about 10 feet away from the water's edge of Rangeley Lake and looked perfect for us. My wife and I were very pleased with everything and were less than thrilled when it was time to come home. It is only a matter of time before we return to this area and would love the opportunity to stay at Loon Cottage again.

100% What We Were Looking For!

My husband and I were looking for a comfortable, peaceful cabin on a lake and were absolutely delighted with our stay at Loon Cabin. The Loon is very well taken care of, and we had everything we needed for lovely week alone on the lake. Grill worked, loons sang at night; the lake was beautiful and quiet. The town of Rangley has a great little bookstore and a few very other places for shoppers. Anyone who likes to hike or fish will love the area. You'll find some good options for restaurants and a terrific bowling alley with pool tables, etc. for a rainey evening. Nearby golf course is wonderful with an Inn that looked like a terrific place to stay. (We chose to cook at home!) Lots of lovely scenic hikes and bike rides to take. Thanks to the Meardons for a treat - we loved it - and for being responsive owners!

Great Place to Recharge

The cabin was as described. It was clean and well-maintained. The owners left us some fresh spring water and warned us against drinking the lake water. The road to the cabin was a cause for concern the first time since it was steep, but after coming and going it turned out to be a piece of cake. The town of Rangeley was a nice bustling town with a public library, several sporting goods stores, antique shops, a fresh market and an IGA. The cabin's owners and the townsfolk were friendly and helpful, especially in our quest to see moose.
I would recommend the Loon Cottage to my friends and family. I'm hoping we go back next year.

Adorable, Comfy Cottage

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of vacationing in Maine and staying at Loon Cottage. Loon Cottage did not disappoint. From the moment we walked through the door, we were enamored with this cottage. It was clean, comfortable, quaint, and there was ample room for the two of us. It was stocked with everything we needed including fresh flowers, that was a nice touch. We could hear the loons each night. The lupines were in full bloom and the deer were everywhere.

Little piece of Heaven in Maine

What a great little spot for totally unwinding and enjoying some much needed peace and quiet...even though it rained it was a great place to just sit back with a cup of tea or a glass of wine and let the beauty of this setting take over. The waves lulled me to sleep along with the echoing of the loons. The water of the lake is crystal clear and warm. The dock and water right outside the door was where I spent many a morning with coffee and my books. The outdoor walks led to many encounters with the naturals including many deers and a couple of Moose. The scenic views along the way made for the appreciation of all that Maine has to offer.
