The home was perfect for our grown up getaway. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed and the fireplace made the evenings warm and cozy. Chuck was great to work with and accommodated our wanting to arrive in the afternoon. Our only negative might be a lack of paper towels in the kitchen but that was an easy fix.

Comfortable and quiet

The property owner was quick to respond to my rental request and easy to contact later when I had a question. The entire process was easy, convenient and very accommodating. The residence was very clean, the yard manicured and the entire property perfect. A group of us was in the area for a physically demanding conference and arriving back at a quiet comfortable house was exactly what we needed. It was close to the river, golf, pool and many other activities but most of all very peaceful. We plan to stay again next year. Thank you.

We had a great time in Eaglecrest. The Woodpecker house was great, the yard was the best! We have little grandkids, so the back yard was a hit, watching for deer, rabbits and taking walks down the golf course path. We lived in the back yard. The house was great, and functional as well as clean. We're looking forward to going back next year.

The Woodpecker House was a wonderful home-away-from-home. We truly enjoyed our stay there! The owner was very helpful and easy to contact during our stay! The house was spacious with plenty of bedrooms, beds, and space for the kids to enjoy! We will definitely be back!!!

First time to Eagle Crest and we were glad to find a place at the last minute. We also were able to get a discount for the 3 nights there. The place was very roomy for our group of 9. It was very clean. The kids room could use some blinds on the 2 skylights above the beds/sleeper. We had no problems with the place, it was as expected. We noticed minor stuff, other then that we enjoyed our stay here.

We had a great time! The house was comfortable and accommodated our party of 9 quite easily. It was a truly peaceful setting, very quiet and serene. We watched deer out our windows every day and loved hot-tubbing under the stars at night! We would definitely come here again! Enjoyed our trip to Sisters for an outing but spent most of our time at the house relaxing and enjoying each others' company which is our kind of vacation. Would like to come back and see more of the countryside when we have more time.

We enjoyed New Year's Eve at the Woodpecker House. The house is set up perfectly for entertaining. The large kitchen appears to be newly renovated and was fun to cook and entertain in with the open floor plan into the dining room and great room. The home was spotless. We could not have found a better place to bring in the new year. It was fun watching the deer from the hot tub. Great job on the decorating!! We'll be back for sure!

a nice house for the price

We stayed here for a family reunion and there was a total of 6 adults, three toddlers and a newborn. There was plenty of room in the house for all of us. The house was, overall, very comfortable and a great location on the golf course. There were, however, a few downfalls.
1. The hide-a-bed in the loft is incredibly uncomfortable. It shouldn't even be counted as an option to sleep guests.
2. The room with the two twin beds isn't very functional. There are two large skylights in the room. My toddler didn't want to go to sleep earlier than 9pm b/c it was so light in the room. Plus she was up very early in the am (again b/c it was so light in that room).
3. The previous guests garbage took up ALL of the garbage can. We were there for a week and had nowhere to put our garbage.
4. The linens and towels are thin. Like very very thin.
5. The deck has a bunch of nails sticking up so the kids stubbed their toes over and over again.
6. A mouse ran through the kitchen.
7. Many lightbulbs were burnt out.
8. Though the owner pays for maid service they really don't do much of a job. There was, what I assume to be blood, on a wall in the twin bedroom. There was also blood stain on a set of the sheets that were on one of the beds downstairs. Many spiderwebs in corners, etc. The maid also put so many towels in the dryer that nothing dried at all. My mom took over half of them out just so the machine would work.
For the price though I must say that I think the house was worth it. We had a wonderful time at Eagle Crest and will for sure be returning (though maybe not to this house). This house just needs a little TLC and a new maid service.

Owner's Response: What a surprise! We have never had a response like this from any of our past guests. My belief is that sometimes you just cannot please all of the people. My hope is that those who look at the reviews, balance this against all of the positive responses we have received.
After talking with the mother (the woman who rented our home) of the young girl who wrote this review, I found that she was very surprised because she throughly enjoyed the house but indicated she wasn't surprised that her daughter would do this sort of thing.

The surroundings at Eagle Crest are breath taking.
Chuck was great to work with and made sure our stay was
special. Our children enjoyed the pools, rec rooms, and
walking the trails. We celebrated my mom's 75th birthday here and it was a great place for the family to gather for dinner.
We would highly recommend this and plan on staying here again in the near future.

Our 2 families (4 adults and 5 kids) had a great time staying at the 'Woodpecker House'. Well equiped, close to all the E.C. activities. Very clean & comfortable with plenty of room. Easy on-line rental arrangements w/ owner.
