I would go again... and again!

From the moment we walked into Arthur's Place on the Beach, we were hooked! Spacious, cozy, comfortable, are just the beginning. The owners said to bring few clothes and use the laundry when needed; and to stuff lots of comfort food in our suitcases instead! Excellent advice and that's what we did. We did most of our cooking in the wonderfully supplied kitchen. Just hit the supermarket before your drive out!
While Arthur's place is about 25 miles from town, it is a sanctuary, an oasis away from the crowds... a great way to relax. We simply drove in to do the UNEXO swim w/ the dolphins adventure and the discover scuba dive. We met the Kayak Nature Tour at the Lucayan National Park (only 5 minutes from the house) to do our Kayak trip (fun). We even rented a boat on the EAST END for a four hour snorkeling trip to two blue holes and two reefs.
Arthur's beach isn't too shabby as well. You will walk out for a few hundred feet before the water is up to your thighs. Snorkel out past the grass and you'll see starfish. Continue on to the reef which is surprisingly nice! One day we took Arthur's raft out to the reef with a makeshift sand in milk jug anchor. The kids loved it.
There's a TV in every room w/ cable. There is a nice DVD and CD collection. Lots of books too, if you forget your own. Games too (we beat the kids at Sequence)!
The Master bathroom has a huge shower and a deep jacuzzi... nice when you come off the beach and want to relax with the jets.
The back porch is screened in and has table and chairs for evening dining. There are also lots of lounge chairs for staring at the beach. Oh, so nice.
There's even an exterior shower (w/ warm water).
Bottom line is that you can't go wrong with this property. The color of the water... the walks on the beach... sunsets... incredible cloud formations... shelling... I would go again... and again!

The house was great! Plenty of space, art work in every room, large master bedroom and bathroom, other bedrooms and bathrooms very comfortable with plenty of room, kitchen fully equipped, I can go on. The beach is great, low tide is perfect for beach combing spotting sting rays to starfish, sand dollars and conch. High tide is perfect for snorkeling close to the shore with crystal clear water shallow enough for small children and perfect for swimming.
This is definitely the place if youre looking for some a romantic getaway or a place for the family to get together and spend real time with each other. Thanks so much Arthur!

AMAZING PLACE!!!

Our Family just got back from a weeks stay at Arthur's place. The house has everything you would need for a comfortable stay and more. When I woke up the first morning home I looked out the window and my heart sank becasue it was not the Amazing View I had experenced for the week before. You can tell Arthur takes great pride in his beautiful home and wants you to enjoy it as much as he does. As we traveled around the Island trying different beaches we realized we had the Best Beach on the Island. When the tide was out you could walk forever. The girls did a Cover Girl shoot on the white sand little islands that came with low tide. The water was so warm and beautiful. Snorkling was our favorite activity. I had one son who set out spear fishing everyday.
Arthur tells you to pack lite on clothes and bring comfort food with the wieght saved... my best advice... Bring as much food as you can. The prices are crazy for the fast and easy packaged food we are use to eating. Pretty much a minimum of 3 times as much for everything. AND as you are soaking up the sun, soak up the culture. Go to local small eateries. Enjoy the slower island pace. Our favorite place we ate at wasn't becasue of the food. It was the owner and the experence. How the menu was pretty much limited to what her husband caught that day. AND if it rains, enjoy the experience of experencing something in the rain. We walked through the Mangrove Trees on a rainy day. I told the kids what a perfect day to go. If the sun was out it would be humid and hot under the canapy of trees and the mosquitos would be eating us alive. The rain also kept the crowds away.
I would highly recommend this house!!!!

I would highly recommend Arthur's Place to any family or group of people that would like to get away from reality and the crowds for a while. House was comfortable, neat, and clean. The views are spectacular. Beach is wonderful and isolated. You will not want to leave.

My entire family stayed in this home two weeks ago, and we fell in love with Arthur's Place and Grand Bahama Island. The home is very nice and comfortable. The rooms are spacious, and Arthur provides everything you need from adequate kitchen supplies to even a small inflatable raft. These owners think of everything!
The location is unbelievable, and the beach is definitely something to write about. When the tide goes out, you will be amazed at the size of the beach. The sand is like powdered sugar. I must say this is one of the most gorgeous beaches I have ever seen. We have been to Aruba, Bermuda, and Florida, and this place beats them all!
The water was very clear, perfect for snorkeling or diving, and, just a few swim strokes from shore, you will see some beautiful coral reef, sea fans, and tropical fish. We even saw nurse sharks and barracuda. It was amazing!!
It's about a 30 minute drive to the nearest attraction (including a grocery store), so be prepared to stock up on the groceries the day you arrive. Thankfully, that's what we did, and it worked well.
Hope you found this review helpful. You won't be disappointed! We will definitely be visiting Arthur's annually!

Relax and Recharge!

Arthur and Donna have created an oasis in this beautiful beach home. Imagine sitting on the beach with crystal clear water at your feet and a couple of hours later the tide goes out and you can walk hundreds of feet off the shore on sandbars that appear to stretch for miles. A great place to collect cool shells! Honestly, i've never experienced this dramatic change in the tide and it is remarkable. If you are looking for a place with no hustle and bustle. No amusement parks and go go go... this is the place. A great place for a group of friends to hang out and chill out. Also wonderful for a beach family vacation without the crowds. The house is large and has a family room and another relaxing room so everyone can spread out comfortably. The bedrooms are great and two full baths is ideal. We had a great time beaching, touring, karaoking, hot tubbing and walking the beach. Thanks Arthur and Donna for sharing your wonderful beach home!
