The Aloha (With Love) Review
We stayed at the Makena Surf June 27- July 20. We enjoyed every moment.. We enjoyed watching wedding pictures being taken at the little beach just below the Condo. The beautiful Lanai was so big that we sat out for breakfast everyday; actually we ate most of our meals there. At night we laid out on the lounges and talked and watched the stars, it was incredible. Two of the best beaches in Maui were right outside the door. Everyday was paradise. The accommodations were really lovely. The grounds were incredible, the smell of the flowers as you walked through the walkways was breathtaking. The beaches at Makena Surf are incredible!! We swam and boogie boarded everyday. Our day always started with a snorkel at 7 am, the turtles would swim with us. They were just beautiful. Drove to Hana in Reverse, which was spectacular. Bring the cooler that is provided in the condo and make a big lunch and take lots of water. Don't forget the towels. We stopped at many attractions but the one that was voted the best by our family was Venus pond where jumped off cliffs into the water. It was just beautiful. Haleakala is a must see, go for the sunrise if you want to get up at 3 am or go for sunset which is what we did. Fleetwood's on Front Street in Lahaina.was another fun night and great memory. Mick Fleetwood just got off a long tour and was there with his mother Bitty. They started the night at 6 with the "Kahuna" who told us a little history of Hawaii and finished with a Hawaiian blessing and then blowing of the conch. Following that was the bagpiper. Mick then got up and gave a speech. The band started to play while we enjoyed a beautiful dinner and Mick got up and played the drums. We purchased Tee Shirts which Mick signed. It was wonderful. A sunset horseback ride at Makena Stables ( Which I highly recommend) was another highlight. My husband took our daughter on the Segway tour in Lahaina. They had a blast and learned a lot about the history of Lahaina We hiked near Mendes ranch and swam in the creeks and went under the waterfalls. If you like golf it is also right outside your door at the Wailea golf course, my husband took our girls to the range and it was very reasonable, Lunch was excellent. We want to thank the owner Mitch for sharing his paradise with us. We will never forget Makena Surf. We have over 3000 pictures, Thank goodness for Memory cards. Put Makena Surf on your Bucket List
