About The Owner

Kaye and I moved to Florida from the UK in 1989 and she has not fully acclimatized to the heat so she loves the mountains. A couple of years ago we were at Beech Mountain and saw the Moose Log Cabin for sale and we were smitten. As those who have visited would tell you it is in a great part of the country and we just love the deer, bear and other creatures who frequent the woods and come to drink at the pond. It is our home away from home and we welcome you to share our good fortune in owning such a beautiful retreat.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2009
Why The Owner chose Beech Mountain

When you have a vacation home you have to use it. So in making the choice my wife and I wanted the greatest verstility we could get. There is no place we could find in the 'central eastern' USA that even compared to the town of Beech Mountain. The highest municipality east of the Mississippi in some of the most beautiful surroundings imagineable.

What makes this cabin unique

In the spring the baby deer come to the pond with Mamma and Pappa to drink and play. The bear wake up and if you are lucky baby bear comes with Mamma to do the same. All year round, birds and creatures of all species, skunks, racoons, squirrels, chipmunks also abound. We can swim in the pool at the Beech Mountain Club, play tennis on one of the ten clay courts, play golf in an amzing scenic location with views for miles, and if we've got any energy left we can lose some pounds in the gym. In the fall we sit and stare at falling leaves of every color nature has, and some you never knew she had made. Then when the wite stuff comes we can ski or skate at Ski Beech, and because we have the club you can use the members only Alpen Haus and its facilities.

Great place for family get-togethers

We used the Moose House for a family get-together this summer 2011 and had a great experience. The house is set up very well with bathrooms for each of the bedrooms. There was great tables for eating either in or out. The decor was cute and very nice. the property was cleaned and well maintained. The location within Beech Mtn. was central and easy to get to.

Use of the Country Club and Wi-Fi in the house added to the experience.

The owner was very helpful and responsive to any questions and to anything we needed.

Great New Years!

Submitted: February 28, 2011 Stayed: December 2010
We visited this house for New Years weekend with 4 couples. They have done a great job of renovating and the house is beautiful. It allowed for plenty of room and privacy because each bedroom has its own bathroom. Great location close to Beech Mountain Ski resort. We would definitely return for another visit!

Great House for a Family Ski Weekend

4 of 5
Submitted: February 15, 2011 Stayed: February 2011
We shared this house with another family, a total of 4 adults and four kids ages 4-8. The Moose House was plenty big enough and provided all we needed for a great ski weekend. 5 minute drive to the base lodge at Ski Beech. Short walk to sledding on the golf course, snow permitting. 4-wheel drive vehicle definitely recommended in snowy weather.

A Wonderful Weekend!

We were in for a wedding recently with a stay at the "Moose House". The weather, the accomodations, the event and natures backdrop made our visit one in which my entire family will never forget. The Lodge is situated in a wooded area near a beautiful Golf Course, with a wonderful wrap-around deck overlooking nature from all points. The house is in very nice condition and the owner is top notch. The weather, the accomodations, gorgeous views and friendly people made this one of our most favorite stays.

Extended Family - 5 adults / 5 teenages

Our large group enjoyed a great week at the Moose Log Cabin. There were plenty of activities close by. We went white water rafting, zip lining, hicking, fishing (although we didn't catch much). The cabin was very clean and looked just like the pictures. The bedrooms were plenty large to accomodate our 'big' family. The kitchen had all the things we needed and there was an abundance of firewood. The owner even called and checked in on us a couple of times. Nice family resteraunts nearby and some fancy ones too. All in all, it was a great trip. If my teenagers enjoyed it, you know it was good!
