Literally, the edge of the continent!

All you have to do is click on the photos of this amazing place & see why it is so breathtaking! It is one of those places with the 'million dollar view'! The photos are exactly right! No retouching at all!
It literally will take your breath away! The view from the living room/dining room combo is awesome! AND, you can see the same amazing view from the kitchen! The dining room picture windows roll out & that sound of the waves is wonderful! There is a gorgeous Cape Cod style house next door that is lovely to have as a view out your kitchen window!
This is a very private home & when you have the fireplace/stove going & light some candles, you just sit there on the lounger & can't take your eyes off that view! A drink or cup of hot chocolate & you are set!
It is beyond words to see that fog roll in & out! The beach down below is great to people watch!
You can see the quaint little town of Trinidad from the yard.
Trinidad Head is eerily gorgeous when there is fog!
If you want a wonderful place to unwind from the stress of everyday life~this is THE place to be!
I couldn't stop 'oohing' & 'ahhing' the whole time we were there!
There is a firepit in the side yard that is completely private & you can roast your hot dogs or marshmallows while admiring that view! It is out of the wind, too.
There are also wicker patio furniture in the back yard
facing the ocean so you can admire the view from all directions.
I just can't say enough about this magnificent place!
It is a very clean, very well-maintained home & the caretaker lives directly behind it in case you have any problems & he is right there in an instant! Very nice British gentleman.
I guarantee that if you go there, you will not be sorry!
There are many beaches that you can visit that offer amazing views!
The town is very quaint & has some nice little shops & restaurants that will make you feel right at home. The grocery store is well-stocked. The town is only a few miles away. The Redwoods are a short drive away & is well worth the trip!
The locals are so nice! There is an Agate beach & I actually found some! But, the sweetest teenage girl gave me a small bag of hers that she had found & I thought that was very nice!
The woman I worked with in renting this home was very nice & easy to work with.
I would definitely recommend this home to EVERYONE!

Fantastic Vacation!!

My husband and I spent 10 days at this glorious house at the end of February and into March. It was so relaxing and just what we hoped for in our vacation. Previous reviews are on target...the view is outstanding and the house is perfect. Watching the changes in the ocean each day was mesmerizing. It was a perfect place to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We could have stayed forever and would love to return someday. I highly recommend this property!

Gorgeous Views and Fun even in the Winter!

Review Submitted: January 1, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
My family (4 of us) stayed here for 4 nights through Christmas 2008. It was cold and wet but we still had a great time! The cabin was warm and great views of the weather out over the cliff. It is close to Trinidad to the North and Arcata to the South ... both worth seeing. We did not use the W/D but everything else worked fine.
Owner's Response: We appreciate such fantastic guests who enjoy the place (and who took such good care of if) -- we'd love to have you back. Have a happy, healthy new year. - Beverly

Amazing Bluff House

GCH Charlotte, NC
Review Submitted: October 22, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
The view from this house is unbelievable! We spent most of our vacation either looking out the huge windows (almost a 180 degree view) or sitting on lawn furniture on the cliffside. The location is very close to Arcata and Trinidad. If you want seclusion and privacy, this house is perfect. The house was well appointed with everything we needed and more.

Five Stars!

To say this home is "as advertised" is an understatement: It far exceeded our expectations!

We found the property to be clean, well-maintained, comfortable, beautifully decorated and extremely well equipped. The thoughtfulness and hospitality of the owner shines through; I've never felt more at "home, away"!...

The caretaker's nearby; a very pleasant and helpful fellow. (Most reassuring when a bear carried our trash away! ; ) An extraordinary feature most rentals don't have, is the knowledge that someone is there to "help" should the need arise...

Then there are the views: simply breathtaking! Oh! - to wake up to that scenery again soon! I can only liken it to camping on the rim of the Grand Canyon - it's that awe inspiring.

There are several wonderful area restaurants: "The Seascape" in Trinidad has a terriffic "Fisherman's Breakfast" (and some great views of it's own. Take a walk on the pier after)... However, "Wildberries" market in Arcata has everthing you need for a take away feast with the best views around: right from the gorgeous zinc al fresco dining table at Bluff House!

If you go - take good care of this wonderful retreat... we can't wait to get back!
