Some of our guests spend time just sitting and admiring the awe inspiring views of Acadia and its array of wooded islands and majestic mountains. The rocky beach is only a few short steps down from the large flat lawn which provides an ideal spot for entertaining or simply taking in the extensive scenery. Sailboats race, lobster fishermen fish, and kayakers paddle by, all just a few short feet from our lovely house.

There's a large master suite with fireplace, private bath, and a huge bay window overlooking the ocean with panoramic views. Up the hall, another bedroom has its own private bath and ocean views. The large living and dining room has a brick fireplace and features an arched bay window looking out at vast views of the ocean, islands, and mountains of Acadia National Park. Two more bedrooms share a bath and provide sleeping quarters for four others. There is a well equipped kitchen, a separate wet bar, and plenty of closets and storage areas.

Our coastal getaway offers convenient access to any recreational activity Mount Desert Island has to offer. We are located 5-10 minutes from ferry service to the Cranberry Islands and Swans Island, beautiful day trips that will give you other perspectives of the beauty of Acadia National Park. Another wonderful boat trip that we highly recommend leaves from Bass Harbor. The name of the business is Island Cruises. They offer the best nature cruise on the island. It is affordable, educational, and a memorable way to spend a few hours observing the spectacular beauty that Mount Desert Island and its surroundings has to offer. Fresh water swimming in beautiful lakes that are surrounded by mountains are also a short drive from our house. Bass Harbor and Bernard, two working fishing harbors are just up the road. These harbors remain much as they were decades ago and have for the most part been have been left unchanged from the way they were when past generations of fishermen fished the waters surrounding them. The most photographed lighthouse in New England is a five minute drive up the road. The Bass Harbor Light offers amazing views of the granite coast, ocean, and islands that make Maine famous. I could go on and on about all the scenic wonders that surround our house at Seawall. I urge you to do some research and uncover the plethora of activities that Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park have to offer. If you are like all of our guests, you will want to return as there seems to be never enough time to explore all the options available in our area.
