Ke Iki Beach Cottage

Review Submitted: August 19, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
This little house is nothing fancy, just a wonderful, clean, comfortable place to spend a week or two. It is as pictured and described; a fantastic location on the North Shore. Away from the hustle & bustle, close to great snorkeling at Sharks Cove (200 yds or so), a very beautiful beach, with a couple of bicycles to ride to supermarket (Foodland) less than a mile away. A big plus was an outdoor hot/cold shower so sand from the beach isn't tracked into the house. The owners/managers (Donna & Darryl) were wonderful, efficient, friendly.
Fruit stands along the main hwy towards Turtle Bay Resort -good golfing at resort. Ted's Bakery for exceptional pastries and good breakfasts/lunches. Gas grill available for bbq'ing a favorite meal. Restaurants for any taste are within easy drive. Good pizza in Haleiwa. (Pizza Bob's) Lots of water activities in area to try -- surf, snorkel, kayak, paddle boards. Polynesian Cultural Center about 15 -20 minutes drive.
We would recommend this cottage to anyone wishing a laid back vacation spot. We plan on returning!

A very big mahalo to Donna and Darryl for providing us with the most wonderful cottage for our winter trip. The facilities and accomodation are exceptional and exactly what we were looking for.
The cottage is in a perfect location right next to the main North Shore Surf Breaks, Foodland and wonderful wildlife at Shark's Cove (in the winter you can see whales!). We had the freedom and comfort as if we were in our own home on a quiet neighbourly estate, the addition of bikes was an added bonus especially with the quality of the bike track opposite.
I can't recommend this place enough and Donna and Darryl were most helpful and managed our booking to a very high standard with great communication.

We look forward to returning in the near future!

Just spent a week at Ke Iki Cottage it was the perfect place to stay. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and cozzy, it was home-away-from-home. The location was just great, we walked to Foodland/Starbucks, Sharks Cove and the beach just behind the cottage. It's a short drive to Haleiwa Town and Turtle Bay Resort. We went to Waimea Bay Beach where we swam with the sea turtles and enjoyed the beautiful coast line. We've stayed in Waikiki many times before but after a week in the peaceful laid-back North Shore there is no reason for us to stay or even visit Waikiki. We had such a great time we're planning on another trip to the North Shore and staying at Ke Iki Cottage in the near future. Thanks Donna and Darryl for a wonderful cottage.

The cottage was just fantastic! This was my first
trip to Hawaii and we wanted to stay away from a
giant hotel in order to get a good feeling for the
land. This was the place to do just that. The
cottage had everything that we could possibly need.
Darryl & Donna were extremely helpful in answering
all of our questions (even the 2nd and 3rd times
around). Sharks Cove was amazing!! To have such
an outstanding place to snorkel just minutes from
the house was fantastic. The North Shore is very
beautiful and we are looking forward to our next
trip there. And without doubt we will be staying in
the cottage again!!

The location is great, the cottage is perfect, and we couldn't of had a better vacation. If you want to relax and get rid of all your stress, this is the place. You have the beach within steps and Sharks Cove a 3 minute walk away.Haleiwa contains great restaurants and shops.Haleiwa Joes, Rosies Cantina, and Pizza Bobs are all great places to eat and the Chocolate Haupia Pie at Teds Bakery down the road is unbelievable. Darryl and Donna have a great cottage on the best part of the island. We can't wait to come back.

Aloha Donna & Darryl,

We had an absolutely wonderful time especially staying at the beach cottage. This truly is an oasis in paradise. The beaches are great and the cottage is fully equipped with everything and anything a vacationer could possibly need. Thanks for providing such a great place. We loved it and know we will be back soon!

Aloha & Mahalo,

We spent two very happy weeks in Ke iki cottage celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary (we got married on Waimea beach). We brought along our two kids this time. Your cottage was just perfect! It really is in the most ideal position with every thing close at hand. The beach is only seconds walk away which we spent most evenings sat on, watching the sun go down. Two minutes ride up the bike path we enjoyed watching 18 ft Pipeline going off, while i drove up to fredys in search of a smaller wave! We were all lucky enough to see turtles on the beach, monk seals, whales jumping out to sea and hundreds of dolphins on the west coast. We highly recommend the snorkling at Sharks cove and hanauma bay despite the rasmatazz! All in all a wonderful vacation. Thank you very much we would love to come back!

I took the time to come back to this internet site to leave a positive comment after staying at the cottage, because we just had such a wonderful stay. Greg (from the bungalows) couldn't have been any nicer, and the cottage was just what we wanted. The place is affordable, but don't worry, its very, very nice. Immaculately clean and updated. Its affordable because its not ocean front, but heck, the ocean is basically in the back yard, and shark's cove is less than a 5 minute walk down the bike path. Its far enough off the main street so that its nice and quiet, and, once you're in there's little need to get in the car. A much needed break after a hectic conference in a Honolulu resort!

We found the cottage to be clean and comfortable. The location was excellent for the things we wished to see/do. Daryl and Donna were close by if any problems were to occur. We were saddened that we were only able to stay for three nights. We would definitely stay at this cottage again on future visits. Thanks Donna and Daryl!
