Wonderful House - Location ???

First of all I want to give 5 stars to this house. We arrived on Saturday afternoon, had no problems checking in and the entire house is spotless. The master bedroom is on the ocean side so when you open your eyes in the morning you see the ocean. Because it was April we were able to keep the doors and windows open all day and night and hear and feel the ocean breeze. The house is PERFECT for a couple or maybe a family with kids. The second bedroom is on the road side of the house and there is pretty much road noise. I tried to sleep in there one night (my husband was not feeling well) and ended up having to sleep on the sofa because of the noise. However, on the master bedroom side you can barely hear any noise at all.
My only concern with this house is the location. If you are going for fishing (THIS IS YOUR PLACE)!!! However, if you are looking for the beautiful Gulf ocean this would not be my choice. We have never stayed in this part of Florida so really didn't know. The house is located or Port St. George Sound. The water there is brown. Also, this area of the beach is pretty deserted. If you want solitude you will get it - no complaints there. But the beach is also dirty (glass, tires, fishing nets, even a kitchen sink)... lots of debris and trash. That was extremely disappointing. If you have small children you would probably want to make the drive over the St. George Island and go to the state park over there. It costs $6.00 to get it but the beach is absolutely beautiful. Seemed a little silly since we were staying on the beach but I would not get in this water, let alone let my child.
I wish they owners could take this house and move it up the beach about an hour (towards Panama City) and out of the sound.... :(
As far as food - we ate out every night except one. The seafood in this area is excellent especially if you like oysters. I could go on and on about that! We made it a point to visit a LOT of the local hangouts and really met some cool people.
I would love to say I would rent this place again - but unfortunately I want a prettier beach and clear water. I was actually afraid to go barefoot on the beach because of the glass and other garbage. Sad that the town can't do a better job of cleaning this area.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the good review, we try our best to make everything easy for your vacation. I’m very sorry that the water was brown, it’s usually not. We had some severe storms in April and May which causes bad rip current that stirs up the water making it brown. Also causing all kinds of things to wash up on the shore…including the kitchen sink. As of now our beaches our clean and our water is blue! We hope to see you again soon to enjoy our small town/southern hospitality and great seafood!
