Perfect place to stay!

This house is beautiful and well kept. We didn't feel like anything was missing. We had three families stay in the house, with a wide age range. There was enough room for all of us to have our personal space. The two entertainment rooms allowed the older kids to watch their movies and the younger kids to watch theirs.
The location was fantastic, just a block away from the brown line, so we had an easy time getting to the aquarium and museums downtown. The grocery store was at the end of the block, so picking up groceries was extremely easy. Our only regret was not staying longer to explore the neighborhood itself. Lots of cool little restaurants and stores!
The owners were very responsive and helped with everything we needed. We can't wait to come back!
Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We work very hard to make certain that our guests have an excellent base for their stays in Chicago and we're always happy to hear a positive response. Thank you and we look forward to hosting your party again in the near future!

Very nice property in an interesting area. The home was spacious and well maintained, and our group was very comfortable. FYI, bring your own soap, paper-towels, dish washing liquid, etc. as the only amenities such as these available is the toilet paper!

Wedding weekend

We rented this unit for relatives to stay during our Fall wedding in Chicago. The process was extremely easy. The owners communicated all the information and even extended the check out time to accommodate our guests needs. Off-street parking and ample street parking made it easy for our out of town guests. There is a brown line stop a few blocks away for our guest to use to explore the city. Located in the heart of Lincoln Square there are plenty of eateries and night life within walking distance. The space itself was nothing short of amazing. Plenty of room for our guests to stretch their legs...13 guests to be exact. Highly reccomend this place.

Our group of 9 stayed at the house for the Miami ND football game. We found the house to be well furnished and the space worked very well for our group. The TV operation can be a little difficult to understand at first. Read and use the directions the owner provides.

Master bathroom is top notch. Steam shower was a nice touch after a long day of walking the city.

Parking was a nice feature and being so close to the L was a huge plus.

Lots of restaurants in the area. There is a Beans and Bagels one block from the house. The place had great coffee and bagel sandwiches.

We would stay here again.

Great Place to Stay

I rented this place for 9 adults to stay at and was not disappointed. Plenty of room, nice furniture and amenities, and quiet but close to downtown. The showers in the master and first floor bathroom were quite nice. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions that I had. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay for a group of about 10 people give or take, that are interested in something different than an ordinary hotel.

Safe tree-lined neighborhood with convenient transportation to downtown Chicago

Great neighborhood with easy pleasant walk to El on the safe brown line (30 to 40 minutes to Loop) as well as to the cute shops and restaurants of Lincoln Square. Off-street parking was appreciated as street parking is very crowded. We had two couples and four kids and had plenty of room to spread out. Interior decor is very nice. We had some hot days and no problems with AC. It would have been nice to have either the kitchen or dining room table seat 8+ more easily given the size of the property. Electronics for two main TVs were a little confusing, but with so much to do in Chicago we hardly needed TV. Jacuzzi tub should include a note that it will cycle through line clearing every 15-20 minutes for almost two hours if ANY water gets in tub. We were kept awake by the noise and thought the tub was malfunctioning. Owner was easy to work with and answered all our questions promptly.

Lovely, updated, well-appointed home in great neighborhood. We had a 3-generation family vacation with ages from 6 - 63; 12 in total who stayed on the property. 5 bedrooms plus 2 sofas (one a bed) and a futon took care of sleeping spaces. Kitchen is well equipped and washer and dryer are a nice plus. Easy walk to large grocery/market and CTA train station. A few blocks to Lincoln Square and numerous restaurants and shops. The AC struggled to keep up but it was exceptionally hot (over 100) when we were there. Everything was very clean - except rugs that need a good shampooing. We would stay there again and recommend the property to other families. We were able to spread out; hooked up the Wi for the young children upstairs and the adults played dominoes or cards downstairs when not out sight-seeing. Quiet, safe neighborhood.

Great house for a family gathering!

5 of 5
Submitted: June 5, 2012 Stayed: May 2012
The house was perfect for a family gathering for my son's graduation. We all had plenty of space and all were comfortable. The downstairs bedroom was great for my mom who has trouble with stairs and the 4 bedrooms upstairs were all large. The master suite was especially fantastic and the shower in there was just awesome.
The access to the CTA around the corner was just fantastic...we used it many times over our 4 day stay. We also liked that we could easily walk to get groceries and there were many dining options within walking distance. The rooftop deck at Gene's Sausage Shop was especially great!
The only improvement I would suggest is with the TV/entertainment systems. We never could get the upstairs TV's to work, but we were so busy, it was not that big a deal. Some better instructions would be helpful.

The house was perfect for us as it's close to my home and accommodates my big family from out of town. The beds were comfy. The owner notified me ahead of time of a few glitches like the intercom, the upstairs satelite etc. My family mentioned a few things in the end which the hot water was not consistent and there was a smell coming from the front closet we think was the vacuum (burnt belt).

Chicago Wedding Became Perfect Family Vacation

5 of 5
Submitted: February 25, 2012 Stayed: September 2011
Our son was married in September and we found this house to be the perfect place for our extended family to gather. The furnishings were well appointed, the kitchen was a dream, and you can't beat the location. The wedding was held at the Dank Haus which was only 1 1/2 blocks away. Four couples, two teenagers, and an infant stayed in the home and there was room enough for all of us. We cooked breakfast every morning and had a lovely cookout one evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and so did the rest of our family. with two spacious living areas, no one felt in the way or felt like others were underfoot.
Everyone flew into Midway and was able to walk to the L and make their flights home easily. We enjoyed many local restaurants, my favorite being PizzaArt's where everyone ate fabulous food for an extremely reasonable price - including a whole roasted octopus!
We were glad to have an IT Specialist in the family to work all of the satellite televisions and sound systems and the air conditioner had a hard time keeping up... But it was unusually hot for the first week in September. As another reviewer stated, the outside could use some work - we replaced light bulbs on the dark front porch and cleaned and swept the porches and walks, but it was a gem on the inside. We loved it and would go back if given the opportunity. It was absolutely perfect for our needs.
