Great Location, house needs work

The location of this property is great. We didn't travel any longer than 20 minutes to the attractions we wanted to see. The house is old and has some plumbing and electrical issues. When we arrived, the house wasn't clean and the internet did not work. However, the owner was very responsive when notified of the issues, and gave us a credit for our inconveniences.

Nice place to stay

We were there from August 16th - August 20th & I liked it. Beds were a little hard for me, but our friend liked that her bed was hard, so it is to your taste I guess. Owner left us a case of bottled water on arrival & I thought that was a nice touch. Shower pressure from other reviews said it was low, but none of us minded. It doesnt come out like a hurricane, but more than enough to shower & wash hair. Appliances are all fairly new & work well. Big screen TV / DVD player, Playstation should come with an easier way to switch inputs into the TV, It was a big hassle to use & no instructions. Broadband high speed internet card does not work with Mac OS X if you need it for business, so come prepared. It is setup for Windows & to get it to work with Mac, you better be a fulltime geek. All said, I would stay there again though, even though we had payment problems reserving it & owner is not too quick answering the emails before the trip.

Great for what we needed.

Myself and 2 buddies rented this property for Comic Con. The only time we spent in it was to sleep. The location was great... minutes away from the convention center and the gaslamp quarter. Up the street on University Av is a bunch of bars/restaurants. Everything we needed was supplied.

Only qualms were the beds were a little hard, and the water pressure in the shower could be turned up a few notches.

All in all a great rental. I would rent again.

Could be a great house with some TLC.

The property's interior photos did not give an accurate depiction of the property. The interior of the house needs some serious TLC. The shower had mold growing in the grout, the kitchen had great appliances, but some exposed electrical wiring, and the living room had some signs of water damage, and some wood rot. The back door to the house had about a 3/4 - 1 inch gap underneath allowing air and any critter that was looking for a place to live easy access. The beds were fairly comfortable though.

The location was awesome. The property was very easy to access, close to all freeways and great for access to restaurants, Sea World, the Zoo and other tourist attractions.

San Diego

This is a very nice rental in a very quiet neighborhood. Great value and good location if you are doing things in central San Diego (park, zoo, Gaslamp, Old Town, airport, etc.). It is also close to grocery and other necessary convenience stores.

The apartment is decently appointed and clean. The bathroom could use a good scrub but is useable. Did not use the backyard as it was not very appealing but serviceable. If you are going in the heat of summer, beware, it will be HOT. We had decent cross ventilation when doors and windows were open, but I would hate to be there when San Diego gets hot and humid. There was one portable fan in the house - we kept it on in the bedroom at night and it was not even that hot when we were there (70's). There is also a attic fan in the hallway but it made a lot of noise.

There is a laptop in the 3rd bedroom which is really set up as an office. It was great to have the internet access.

We found the BEST breakfast & lunch place on Park - Cafe on Park 3831 Park Blvd, (619) 293-7275 which was only a short drive away. Everything we had was good (went back twice) but the pancakes were stellar.

We would go back again.

location and space

I took my family, wife, 4 daughters ages 8-1, and my mother-in-law on vacation to San Diego.... yeah I did survive. This was a great place with plenty of space.

The location was perfect. Quick access to all the interstate roads to get anywhere. We satellite tv had lots of channels for our down time, the internet was useful to map out directions. The outdoor grill was great to do barbeques. It was a quiet neighborhood.

The owner of the house was very easy to work with. Supplied a crib, stroller, and high chair.

The heads on the shower could have had more water pressure. I'd rent this location again in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great stay!

Rental of San Diego Spanish Home

Review Submitted: June 11, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We found the house to be in less than ideal condition as there were open electrical boxes and loose wiring in a number of rooms with in the house. There was also uneven flooring and a fist sized hole in the rear door. With a small child who is inquisitive we were uncomfortable letting him roam around the house in fear that he would injure himself by sticking his hand in the outlets or cutting himself on some of the metal edges. We also found that there appeared to be some water damage of the walls in different rooms in the house. The shower had very little water pressure and it was very difficult to have enough water to wash hair.

The kitchen of the house was excellent with good appliances, excellent washer and dryer for clothes and the television and satellite was top quality. The furniture was comfortable but unfortunately we did not find that the rest of the house was up to the standards we expected when we decided to stay at this house.

The location of the house was ideal but we found that we could not stay in the house due to the concern about the overall condition of the house.

Once we contacted the owner of the property she understood our concerns and was gracious enough to only charge us for the two nights that we stayed at the hotel allowing us to be able to make alternate arrangements for the remainder of the week.

Peaceful, spacious, helpful hosts

We enjoyed our stay in this house in San Diego. The best features are the size of the house, nice back garden with great barbeque and deck, newer appliances and funiture, and, of course, convenient location with easy access to the Zoo, Balboa Park and just 20 min drive to the beach. The area is quiet residential, with little traffic. Hosts provided baby crib and high chair at not extra cost and were very helpful. We stayed over a week, so having washer and dryer was good too. Also, the grocery store just two blocks north on Louisiana street is very convenient. But we found best food in Whole Food store on the University Avenue. Bring your tennis racket - excellent courts just 2 blocks south! I would come back again and not forget my racket this time!

Cute Cozy House

Trek 395 Fullerton, CA
Review Submitted: January 22, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
This house was perfect for our family of 3. The pictures are very accurate: very clean, new and comfortable beds and sofas, and new appliances in the kitchen. It is an old style house with hardwood floors and glass doorknobs... very retro! The neighborhood is very quiet and there is plenty of parking, unlike staying at a place near the beach.

The best part is that the location is very convenient. It is less than 5 minutes to Balboa Park, a short drive to the Gaslamp District, easy access to the 5 and 163 freeways, and there is a grocery store just at the end of the block.

On top of that, there was good communication with the owner. We would happily return to this rental property in the future.
